  • Ed's voice is still there, but his music is missing something Live had before. I'm also listening to The Gracious Few (all the other members from Live with another singer from Candlebox) and I think they are much better. It can change in time, maybe Ed and his new band needs some time to get together.

  • still has a brilliant voice

  • what a complete 180.

  • he came to my town and i missed it i wont make the same mistake again

  • Saw him perform in the summer here in SLC. One of THE best performers live (no pun) EVER!

  • OMG red hot chili peppers, so similar

  • didn't he vote for obama?

  • i got a hole in my pants...

  • anddddddd..... 1000 likes

  • Ed's best song since Live's Album "The distance to here".

  • Holy crap, what a song!!!

  • my relative :D

  • Ed has always been great and always will be. I own all the band cds and just purchased ed's awesome new album this song is from.

  • This Video is realy an art :D

  • Ed is sooooo great!!

  • i love this man, ever since i heard the band live, when i was younger i just fell in love with his voice

  • No doubt, his voice and interpretation is still truly good!!!

  • Lyrical and religious content aside, I find that Ed's musical ability has waned over the last decade. It's fair to say that this song falls under the category of "commericalized rock". Clearly, the other members of Live were key in the creation of truly original, interesting, memorable music. Throwing Copper to this? Wow.

  • O_O AMAZING

  • I love seeing public figures calling out to the Lord in an age of fashionable Godlessness. Fantastic!

  • excelente balada, hoy 5 de julio se presenta en lima este extraordinario cantante de LIVE, today he has a show in Lima yeahhhhhhhhh I LOVE LIVE

  • My english is bad, but the little that I could understand the lyrics until now, she talks about faith and causes some controversy. Well, anyway, the music is wonderful to hear, the video is good to see and Ed have a gorgeous gravelly voice. Hugs from São Paulo - Brazil! ;-)

  • 11 people don't have faith

  • brothers and sisters, please don't indulge the taunts of the scoffers who gripe about the "problems" with religion (little "r"). their problem (singular) is usually with the Holy Spirit.

    Conviction sux!

seldom does the Stumbling Block get a "Thank you!" from the throngs that bang their shins against it in life's journey. The way is broad and the gate is wide. Ed gets it! Ed gets IN!! All the dirt in his bio (or anyone else's) doesn't disqualify him. His farewell says it all...FAITH

    Jesus rox!

  • no religion, yes spirituality love the song

  • Never heard of this guy before, but i heard he was playing at the q101 jamboree so i decided to check him out and this is really good

  • @Chi26trojans Same here! Jamboree is gonna be amazing!! :D

  • Ed is my hero

  • amazing

  • "You were wrong, there was grace." The song speaks for itself... the guy has guts to proclaim what most people cower from even typing in a comment on Youtube. Respect.

  • Religion has yet to prove anyone wrong

    *runs*

But honestly, very good song, weither you are religious or not.

  • hard rock just sent me free tickets cant wait to use them in biloxi. i play there all the time

  • amazing song

  • I love it...Ed is amazing

  • @1982McGuigan They're called the Gracious Few. Check out the song "Appetite" by them

  • Rock On !

  • 10 people were wrong. There was grace.

  • Man, I love this song!!!

  • For those that are interested, Ed is neither Christian nor Buddhist.. But if you do want to know his religious persuasion I believe you can find the answer from an interview he did with Rolling Stone Magazine prior to 2002.

  • @johnnyaussie1976 Ed has made mention that he grew up as a christian then went his own way and has since returned to being a christian. I suggest you need to do some good research on him :)

  • every saint used to be a sinner, every man used to be a child... very awesome lyric very awesome song

  • I think he searches for truth. seeking the face of the true God and not the hand...Love it!!!

  • I have not seen a comment in which anyone discussed the use of noir in this video..

The comments are interesting . You can't fault Ed for leaving the band.. One never really knows what the truth is on that. He sends a positive message to all of us regardless of what religion he may be.. He has one hell of a voice and he is a brilliant songwriter.

  • Ed lost it a long time ago. He allowed ego to ruin a musical union that produced some very memorable music. Secret Samadhi was the beginning of the downhill slide. Once Ed allowed his spirituality to be a marketing tool - the subsequent music produced continually became more and more empty. The passion behind the lyrics of Mental Jewelry & Throwing Copper were absent in the majority of the tunes. Greed and Selfishness brought the separation of once prolific musical act. it's a shame.

  • @ottercrk23 : Ed lost what? As far as I can see he gained much..

  • .....met 'Him'....Master Daddy Kowalczyk (ha ha) here in Vancouver couple of years ago and made a fool of self, but he was appreciative and got a kiss on the cheek!! (and 'yes' I have washed my face since, haha). Gawd the woman who gets allllll that he 'is' IS just a lucky girlie!

  • @austpj81 yes you are an idiot for repeating your comment 3 times, yes you are an idiot for repeating your comment 3 times, yes you are an idiot for repeating your comment 3 times and yes etc

  • yes he was the lead singer from live they were of some kinda eastern faith buddhism if i remember rightly but he says in a clip he has converted back to christianity if you want that clip type edkowalczyks christian in the yt search box

i think this song is a message to all those who said he would never make it in the music industry if he made it known he was a christian

he says that ever since he converted his songs have more meaning than ever

no mistake ed is a Christian and wants it kn

  • @austpj81 he was and the band LIVE was never buddhist. They were always a Christian band. Where you ever got the thought that he wouldn't have made it in the music industry being Christian is one of the most ignorant things I've EVER read.

  • @TheSpawnofSkynyrd - Live is not and were never a Christian band. Ed even said so in a television interview in 2006.

  • @iwalktheline00 - whether that may be or not, one thing is for certain - they weren't "some kinda eastern faith buddhism" kind of band.

  • For anyone that wonders where this singer is from.

He's from the wonderfull band called : live.

The band itself ended , don't know wich way the other band members moved but yeah the lead singer ( the guy here Ed Kowalczyk ) went solo.

Just for those that don't know :)

Keep enjoying us with great music Ed !!!

  • I LOVE GRACE JONES

  • This is FM ready, lets go!

  • I see him at the Hotel Cafe very soon!! LOVE THIS!

  • pay attention to the drummer xD

  • YEAH!!!

he was singer of the band live right?

    didnt know they were christian..

    LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • This is an exceptionally well written song and as usual Ed sings this one at his top vocal performance!! truly fabulous lyrics! People should be able to interpret this song anyway they choose. Anything that bring light to a sometimes gray and dark world gets a thumbs up from me :- )

  • This song is freaking GREAT!

  • I <3 Ed .....and I have Faith in him......xo

  • beautiful song!!

  • Keep the faith brother.

  • I love it that, there is always something more to his songs ;o) What's wrong with saying have a little faith to people ;o) People need that. ;o)

Don't make it more than it is. ;o))

  • im 667th =)

  • more of the mediocre same-concept-loud-soft songs Ed's been conjuring up for the last years. Saw Live 3 times live, each time loosing the spark some more. Great band, shame they couldn't keep up with themselves. Ed solo is even more meager.

  • @CR2012 And yet... you bothered to look up the vid yourself.

  • @Archer785 yes, probably the last time too

  • This guy really knows how to sing.

  • great tune, the man is gifted

  • A decent hard rock song, the way music should be.

  • LOVE THIS SONG.

  • the 8 people that disliked this song i would hate to see what you think is a good song!!! people have no taste

  • the 8 people that disliked this sonfg i would hate to see what you think is a good song!!! people have no taste

  • azz Live's singer!

  • I'm not quite sure what ur trying to tell me with this but if you think i doubted you. UR WRONG!

  • ESSE CARA É SIMPLISMENTE THE BEST¹¹¹

  • nice song!

  • Divino

  • unbelievably awesome!!!! remove christianity from the equation for a moment... the message in this song can reach to ALL people on ALL levels... reaching them at a moment of need... no matter what it is!!!! ED... you are an amazing artist... have a truely indescribable gift... i loved your talent as part of "Live" and i still do... you cut straight through all the other rubbish on the radio... reach through and grab people... DO NOT EVER DOUBT YOUR GIFT!!! :) xx

  • Ed still has so much faith in God even through tough times. He comes back to the Lord. That is what gives you the Key to heaven. Its not easy to but it is a gift we all can have . Just ask .

  • @tomcamp6023 STFU

  • good song but please dont use it as a religious advert, just enjoy it

  • @DarthDarkie . Using it as a song to give God all the glory. Ed is a Christian and this is God working through him. God is AWESOME. Your heart has been hardend. Let the past go. Forgive and move on.

  • @DarthDarkie, songs are meant to be enjoyed I agree.

Not interpreted in this sort of way.

  • @APH1991 . We can and I will make it my own. You are telling me how to enjoy music? seriously. Thats your problem. Not mine.

  • @DarthDarkie now explain to me how this song is not religious??? maybe you ignoring the obvious???

  • @ewstodd1910 explain to me where he states that it isn't religious??? maybe you are ignoring the obvious

  • @DarthDarkie now explain to me how this song is not religious??? maybe your ignoring the obvious???

  • @ewstodd1910 the song is obviously religiously motivated from the artists point of view, and i as a listener recognise this fact, but i dont use songs and other media as an opportunity to get my point across to others in a ridiculously bullish and single-minded way like some people here do.

    just enjoy the song!

  • @DarthDarkie it is religious though. that was one of the reasons for the breakup of LIVE.

  • @TheSpawnofSkynyrd yes of course it is, ill refer you to my previous comment, its religious but dont use it as an opportunity to reopen stupid religious debates, just enjoy the song

  • @DarthDarkie - did i say i was going to open a debate?

  • @TheSpawnofSkynyrd calm yourself down sweetheart, im not a particularly argumentative type, find yourself another sucker to argue with

  • the gracious few indeed

  • i was there!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I am amazed that the people on here do not realize he always was spiritual and religious. He always was when he was in LIVE .. he wrote many songs that were spiritual and religious, to say that he converted is why he broke up with LIve is hilarious!!

  • i love this song...

  • how graceful, darknessfett

  • Comment removed

  • he makes the funniest faces.... sometimes its the orgasm face, sometimes its the taking a dump face, and sometimes a mix of both.

  • this song is freakin awesome

  • this song is freakin awesome

  • good to know he has grace, then, masada00.

  • at first i feel like i'm not being able to like Ed for what he done to Live, i still love that band, i'm sure he's trying to answer about his reasons and also all opinion about him, this is a very good song, dont like the video much though, i dont want to be a fans of someone who is a hypocrite, well.. congrats for your new album Ed.. all the best to you..

  • He who is without sin can cast the first stone. Judge not my brothers lest you be judged God Bless all

  • My new favorite song. Ed is so talented.

  • Facking nice !!!

  • I love the filming of this vid, as well as the song! His voice is so beautiful&has such incredible tone! Love the lyrics, they're so poignant&poetic! The director used some very cool effects&angles, really quite simple, but very meaningful, like the text written as the lines on the side curve up-ward or around... Nice transitions&lighting back 2 the band! I just love how he gets into each part of the song, he's really feeling what he's singing! GREATNESS!

  • Epic song

  • Awesome song. Amazing video. Love Ed but the Christianity thing is a little hypocritical knowing what he pulled on the other members of Live.

  • @masada00 . What do you think. Christians don't make mistakes or do things wrong. They do and when they do they ask God for help changing. No Christian will ever tell you they are perfect and don't make mistakes just like everyone else.

  • @tomcamp6023 Where did I say Christians never made mistakes? Oh that's right I didn't. Nice straw man argument though. BTW, how can you ask forgiveness for something that you are still doing? The fact is he chose the dollar over his friends/band-mates and has yet to make right with them. "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

  • @masada00 . There is his side and their side and then the truth somewhere in the middle. We are not in the band and do not know the whole truth.

  • @masada00 Everything LIve said was a lie. It was a vengeful thing for him converting.

  • @pursacat I didn't realize they were angry at him for converting. They must be jealous because he found Christ. /s

  • GREAT SONG!!!

  • THIS IS A GREAT SONG,IMAGINE IF HE TEAMED UP WITH DAVID DRAIMEN FROM DISTURBED? TWO BALD DUDES KICKIN ASS !!

  • @metalmaximus that would be 1 awesome song

  • LOVE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, what a powerful message. I still have faith. I really enjoyed the message and the delivery.

  • soooo good

  • Lady Gaga is a gimmick~ Ed has an awesome singing voice b& more talent than she ever will . . this is a great cd .. a must buy~

  • i love this song

  • fantastic song!

  • GOOD LUCK AT MELBOURNE IN AUSTRALIA

  • D: last time i check this had no dislikes

  • This is one of my favourites on the CD.....actually I say that to all of his songs!

  • i have a foul mouth, you have a foul taste in music, and im quite happy to keep it that way, ed kowalzyks song, is still the joke, suck my nuts

  • POLSKA! =D

  • Once agaain you read my mind, express my emotions and play my heart, Thank You Ed Love You!!!!!

  • the chorus to this song sounds alot like the chorus to "Let Go" By Red

  • @paul123456789o what the fuck is wrong with u this the best son ever go suck lady gagas dick and fuck your dog mom faggot

  • @nerfsilentsniper this is the best song ever? your fucking blind, your a tool you clearly know nothing about music

  • @paul123456789o yeah ever since he went christian and left one of the best bands of all time he's kinda lost it. This is probably the worst filmclip of the year aswell. Not a bad song though, yes a bit cliche but non the less I like listening to it.

  • @breachmania your alright bro

  • @paul123456789o your the joke + you have a foul mouth

  • @paul123456789o okay, i just have to know, what kind of music do you like? to quote myself "i think all music that makes somebody happy is good, i think most "good" music is crap." so, just curious...

  • @prdgyair @prdgyair right now, im listening to new day by karnivool, if you like this song, ill show you another, i appreciate it much more than ed kowalcykzkzs shitty brand of mainstream music

  • @paul123456789o yup. like that alot! definitely better than this! ed went somewhere else after mental jewelry and throwing copper, somewhere down hill. i've always been an electronic fan, but if i'm listening to rock, i like the non-mainstream stuff. thanks!!

  • @paul123456789o Jeez. Don't criticize this song when your clearly not looking at the message. He's a Christian now, he's doing this music as a statement, not to earn an easy buck. It's really respectable, what he's doing, and just because you don't approve or aren't a fan you shouldn't condemn his efforts. Just go listen to what you enjoy, don't hate on things that aren't even in your taste in music. I enjoy this, so do alot of people, but some won't. That's the story of all music. Even yours.

  • @KungFuReality i accept your statement, i still hate the song but i think everyone can agree the film clip sucks

  • Absolutely brilliant......so good to see Ed back, such a great talent as a muso and songwriter :)

  • ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BRILLIANT

  • love this song so much and those 5 ppl who dislike this r very stupid

if u agree give me a thumbs up baby

  • Love his voice! and the power of this song...

  • One of, if not my favorite singers. Ed really has something about his voice, that lures you in - this guy kicks ass with Live or alone!

  • great song :-)

  • nice when does the cd hit melbourne

  • blijft een topper die ed!!! geweldig!

  • Nice song but he's ripped the melody for the verses off Maybe Tomorrow by the Stereophonics.

  • The music vdideo sucks for the bit where it's black and white. But its a fucking awesome song.

  • How does Lady Gaga get 70+ mil hits for songs that aren't even half as good as this?? what's wrong with people these days...

  • @mayisa84

    perhaps the world isn't christian?

  • @matthewraabe But this religion isn't christian. It's called Love.

  • @matthewraabe It hasn't to do with an old script called the bible, because it's just about love

  • @Degernildo

yea def not, doesnt use key phrase words faith, grace, saint ,sinner. shit its almost like he was talking to his god, "you were wrong, i still hav FAITH" faith in what? perhaps religion, THANK THE LORD UP ABOVE.? zomg, have u even had a listen to the lyrics? you should

  • @mayisa84 you are completely right i dont understand either

  • @mayisa84 The world is populated by brainless teenieboppers and pathetically feminine men these days, what do you expect? It's a shame, but it's how things are, and they're getting worse. I can honestly say im glad i wont be around in 100 years.

  • @mayisa84

i kno thats what i ask myself sometimes but realize that there are many ppl that are fucking stupid these days and have no sense of good music. need to go buy 6 shotgun shellls

  • @mayisa84 - sad thing about the world, more people are in it for the fun rather than the truth -- I'll admit though I seem to be on the "fun" path a little bit more, working on fixing that
