Actually, with a 2 beat kick, the synch between right leg kicking and right arm pulling, and the left side kick/pull is pretty much what you do when you walk, or march, or do a front kick in martial arts. Your right arm pulls down at the same time as your right leg kicks down -- if you're standing up, youre pulling your arm down and toward you at the same time as you kick forward. For my money, the 6 beat kick is way more counter-natural, especially for rotation for breaths.
haha u will b much faster..honestly i was shocked at how big the elite swimmers r i went 2 a national championship and they r monsters many r like 6'8" and totally ripped i was really shocked i had heard from squad swimmers they were big i am 6' and 90 kilos but felt like a runt next to them haha ...the girls were in total shock these guys r totally buffed..u wouldnt mess with the girl swimmers either they r very strong units..i have theory that elite athletes r put on protein when young
TI is a terrific technique alot of it is common sense but is has made a huge improvement to me to doing distance ..it has also improved faster swimming as well
In part 2 or 3 (I can't remember) when he talks about letting your hand dangle down a little in the front of your "spear" I don't know that I agree with that. Wouldn't it be the same as sending a spear through the air and then point the front 6 inches down?? wouldn't that cause the spear to shoot down and not straight, or slow it down??? Can someone answer this for me?
I've been watching this videos now very interested, because I've been doing triathlon for almost 14 years now and have always been a pretty bad swimmer, without any real improvement. so this is ultimately my last hope to improve my swim finally. it is so frustrating always to get out of the water with the last ones, but to know that run and bike would be enough almost always to finish top30. So many thanks for upping the vids, they give me new motivation!
Hi there - firstly I must say that I am completely intrigued by your TI swim concept. I have very little swimming experience so I am very dedicated to learning your style. A quick question - as I try to put all the technique together, I am wondering if you feel it would be beneficial or detrimental to practice long distance swimming using a snorkel. This would take the breathing out of it as I try to imprint the proper stroke? Fantastic video series and many thanks for posting it.
hello there, i am not a super fast swimmer, however a year ago i was able to swim only 100m maximum while doing front crawl. Now i can easily do 2000m without getting tired. I can do that Mostly because this video (and other TI videos) exists.
I never used any fins, pads or snorkler... I belive without it, you are more forced to imprint proper strokes. Distance swimming = only if you already have proper strokes...
I tried this and it's so hard lol.
Particularly I find it difficult to kick with my left leg once while driving my right hand (and vice versa)
My body wants to kick with the left leg while driving the left arm.

I can feel the advantage when pointing the head right but I can't see where I'm going like this.
