  • i have been watchin your videos for awhile when i didnt have a youtube and i wonder could this bow kill a deer?

  • What Type of wood is used in the video?

  • Comment removed

  • serious skill. he chose like the worst piece of wood ever - knots and a natural twist on one end.

  • use a power saw ya twat!

  • hey john, could it work with olive wood?

  • do you make those axe bleds by your own? and can u make a vidio how you did them :)?

  • I paid big money for my Howard Hill Bow's. They are truely great bows and they are made from bamboo. I think the bamboo is imported from japan. I even had a 200 lb bow made. A duplicate of the bow Howard killed the elephant with. But I should have had it constructed with more layers of bamboo because it just broke the other day.

I love shooting my bow but cant find a place where I live now.

  • nice was the bow made out of birch

  • that is not primitive that takes a lot of hard work

  • Dude your awesome! good job I love primitive stuff i always wanted to make my own bow out of a branch thanx for showing me how. what wood do you recomend? i was thinking ash.

  • i was wating to get a account for you hay um every time i tyr to see if the wood bends it snaps y is that please get back to me ok

  • i try that i have same looking part of that same wood

  • i love your videos man, I'm gonna give this a shot. Seems easier than tryin to make a yew bow. lol

  • hahahaha my primitive tools are screw drivers and hammers this is cool. my

instructor made one of these but a different way tooks us about a week it was pretty good

  • did you make the tools too

  • how many pounds was this bow

  • what wood was that?

  • Yew and elm are legondary for bow craft

  • @Rugghead98 yep the best woods..and osage..but very expensive..today most bows are laminated..wood and bamboo,,very powerful..and there not cheap either

  • where you get that wood?

  • What's the best type of wood to use? Great Job by the way

  • am sorry but no it doesnt matter if your the best bow maker in the world you dont use a piece of wood tht has alot of knots in it tht bow will break within a week or 2 oor hard use thts jus a fact

unless you dont use a full draw is the only way tht it wil not break or crack .

  • cool, is that birch, also i have some nice looking staves, but their maple, is maple a good bow wood?

  • Where did you get the tools for shaping the wedge and hammer :D

  • what kind of wood is that !?!

  • wtf u didnt do shit except hit a fucking piece of metal

  • yeah realy the fuck u talkin about magic

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was actually really good, i guess these blokes have no idea what primitive bow making is!!! good job, 5 stars mate

  • @magicdevil97 are you retarded? obviously he is not from down south...from his accent he is probably from UK

  • @NiKkMV Of course hes UK. To be more accurate, english. Likely from around thames estuary area but i'm probably wrong.. too many english accents to tell the difference

  • To be honest British english (the original) and american english have many different spellings. For instantace there is favor and in british it is favour. See hre in america we allow natives and lesser beings to change english for the worse. To Brits we sound retarted and primitive.

  • @Articulas2000 you are retarded and primitive

  • what do you think is the best survival tool

  • i try'd to make a bow out of a stick like that too,but i failed,i was making a flatbow(takedown bow 2pieces)1 arm was almost finished but it cracked.next time i'l try to get a good piece of wood.

  • a knife

  • my brain.

  • a knife

  • I watched an american fella do this. Now I watch a british fella do it his way. I like your way for it's ingenuity.

  • john, wt wood u useing?

  • why are you talking shit about americans our native people are hands down the best with bows and makeing them but this guy is realy good i liked it

  • what type of wood are you using to built a bow ?

  • get-r-done. good job, thanks from Kentucky. I don't know if I have what it takes to make one that way, but love the bow, and am going to try makeing them, soon.

  • Really? I thought the Brits had already done a pretty decent job of ruiining the language. That's coming not from a disliking of British people, merely the way the speak.

  • sorry....

  • I can't even tell what country YOU are from.

I wasn't aware 'speaking' was spelt with a double 'e' in any country.

  • frm england look at his channel!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats sad dude... anyone who can make a bow like this is clearly a geneous

  • what the hell

  • Wooden club...may be

    lol

  • whats that thing you use to bang the wood called and made out of?

  • Also, i would try with ash, i can find here very straight ash tree.Thank you for posting it.

  • Great job man. This is really the way that men in stone age made bows. And to someone who don't know how bow works it looks like child's play, but in fact these bows are so ''primitive'' so that man from Stone age used it to hunt animals or to fight another tribe.I am into traditional archery but mad about to try Stone age bow. Great job again, Greets from Serbia.

  • thanks friend

  • @Serbiannation not stone age. its traditional native american style.

  • @Serbiannation watch?v=Xlp-f2ocz9c

  • Cool vids man!!! I got a start doing this type of shit again ...What type of wood did ya use there looks like river birch . 5/5 Man !

  • Who picks a branch loaded with knots??? Those are all points that will snap when bent

  • they CAN snap, not will. It's a lot more difficult, but you can make it work with enough patience and skill.

  • thanks mate

  • dude nice vid can you do another one? 5 stars

  • the bow came out great even with the knots , you just got to know how to make it properly

  • @johnjayrambo11111 did you know bows dated back to as early as 100 years after adam and eves time ;)

  • Is that sapling fresh? Or did you let it dry for a few months?

  • thnx man...btw cool video

  • you,re welcome mate

  • about how long does it take, how do you tell its flint, and does it look like a usual rock?

  • it never really takes long ,flint looks like grey or black shiny glass kind of ,or it can look like a normal rock until you break it open ,hit 2 stones toghether and listen for a kind of glassy clacking sound

  • so how and where do you get the flint?

    Plz respond in detail

  • honestly i just look on the floor for flint , in woods or feilds ,not a lot more i can say really sorry mate

  • good that people still want to use tools like this even when their are better tools arround.

    great video i subbed

  • thank you friend

  • awesome dude.... i gotta try this, you make it look easy but im sure ill fuk it up. can you use any woods or does it have to be certain woods ...great videos++

  • hardwoods are best like oak ,hazel ,hickory ,birch, yew ,sycamore, ash ,cherry , apple , walnut ,osage

  • where did you get the flint?

  • from the woods

  • Great vids. How long should you let the sapling dry out before you start?

  • depending on how thick it is , if it was about 2-3 inch diameter , then debarked and split in half maybe a few months

  • 5/5 GreaT vid, what sort of wood is that?

  • thanks, its silver birch

  • nice video...

can you show us how to make a bow from scratch? with nothing but materials in the wilderness.....no artificial items like rope, string, knives, etc

kinda like this video, but without the antlers and that axe thingy and stuff you already had made to use...
