  • Psalms 84-11: Lord God is a sun and shield... This is the only mention of what God is in the Old Testament (Torah).

  • @violetgypsie Well, the Torah also describes Yahweh (it hardly calls Him 'Lord' in Hebrew compared to His personal name YHWH) as A Rock, A Person of War, An Eagle, A Destroyer, A Resurrecter. Many descriptive attributes. We mustn't only single out the ones that suit our video, here...

  • The Naked Archaeologist is one of the best shows on tv in my opinion,

  • That is a odd looking king, looks like a alien to me.

  • @bdarnell1966 They modelled Ra's mask off him in the movie Stargate (1994). They also think he had some weird physical deformity. One of few Pharaoh's whose looks weren't so idealized, but the idea might also be that, like his she-male god Aten, he wanted to be portrayed looking male and female at the same time. Many of his images make his figure quite effeminate.

  • akhenaten is Moses.

  • Although the name "Hebrew" is not used in ancient texts, it is a more recent name. What we call Hebrew were called Ibri. It is like 3000 years from now if people suggested that the Ashkenazi Jews were actually descended from the Nazis, simply because their names are similar - despite having separate etymological origins, like Habiru and Hebrew.

If Akhenaten was a follower of Moses, then wouldn't that mean that Moses was a sun worshiper as well?

  • @JamesAuseten Not really. Look how many denominations of Christendom there are. Jesus said 'There is only ONE way, One truth, One Father etc.' Any 'Christian' would admit that and claim theirs follows Christ truly. IF Akhenaten was influenced by Moses, it was watered down memory of Moses' presence in Egypt a few generations before Akhenaten. Even the Israelites in Canaan didn't usually follow their own leaders (prophets, Mosaic Law). This is an interesting theory but just a theory.

  • @JamesAuseten The question is much simpler than that. Your illustration would have to say where the Ashkenazi Jews lived and what upheavals they were causing etc. to match them with the Nazis. Likewise with the Habiru, the date FITS, the name does too, and what other ancient book describes what was going on in Canaan at that time? Just the Bible and these tablets. Ibri is spelled with a werid guttural letter first- 'bry and Habiru is really 'abiru, very similar phonetically -'brw.

  • @JamesAuseten If it ain't the Israelites, it's a huge weird coincidence. There's been a lot of debate. I think there is some relation. The Mesha Stela of 900 BCE is of king Mesha, mentioned in the Bible, but it confirms a lot of the Biblical record and says of the tribe of the Gadites 'They have been in their land from olden times'. The Bible says they lived close to Moabite territory, but that ancient stone also shows they were known by the Moabites to have been there long time.

  • WeAreChangeMark has a 3 part version on youtube

  • If anyone has the episode "The Real Mount Sinai" please post it.

It was the final episode of season 1.

    I'm dying to see it.

  • 14:28 "Ackmed Osmond BELIEVES that the Habiru nomads that attacked Canaan were actually Hebrews that came out of the Sinai dessert. This CONFIRMS the conquest of the Promise Land described in the Bible."

No matter what you believe, it is very important to catch statements like this. The "belief" of one or many can never be stated as fact. If you're questioning evolution or Creationism or anything else, be careful what is being said and how they reached their conclusion.

  • Aten is not very different from Ra. The ideas of polytheism and monotheism are being imposed on a henotheistic culture as well. Egyptians always worshiped the sun. Aten is merely a linguistic difference. Semantic.

  • He moved the capitol? Or so you say. You disregard the fact that there were many periods when Egypt had multiple capitals and multiple rulers and multiple religions at the same time. I'll believe David Rohl before I believe Simcha.

  • Right, and Djedfra was a serial killer who murdered his whole family too huh? You hardly have any evidence to support your chronologies, stories, or ideas. Sigmund Freud was a moron btw. He is not very important in Psychology either. If Psalm 104 is similar then Akhenaten would be David at best and therefore not contemporary with Moses. How do you establish anything as true about a man you have very little information on? If a cigar is a penis then I guess Akhenaten is Moses' predecessor right?

  • fringe archaeology at its best. it isn't similar to psalm 104

  • I feel that this video by Simcha was fascinating, I really enjoyed watching, I am a big fan of Simcha's I believe the same conclusion as he does. I can't stand when these negative comments come in calling him a fraud, leave it for the high priests, and the diggers to find the answers! Who the heck are you to step on Simcha's toes? He has a right to investigate like a detective as anybody else out there! Every one has there own interpretations for he is not twisting anything, Go dig somewhere els

  • The Egyptologist believe Akhenaten is Moses is a very good assumption. I do believe in reincarnation! I am not sure I follow you with the Exodus is really about Akhenaten but it sure something to think about, which is a very good thought too. You seem like me, more open minded and just want to comment your thoughts with Simcha's video topics than be nasty and act like you were actually right there living it at the time all this was going on and know for absolutely sure you have all the answers!

  • Who ever said there never was a Moses or no Exodus were you living at this time? To prove otherwise? Please just research! He is in all the books of History whether dates, people were mixed up with who was the true pharaoh at the time of Moses was born or not! Whatever ! History does get mixed up, look how long ago all this was my God! Outside this video which I will comment on it in the next block. Ramses the 2nd was proven not to be the pharoah at the time of Moses it was Shishack. Research!

  • what about the thesis that Moses IS Akhenaten, one in the same. and the Exodus is really just Akhenaten and his followers being kicked out out of Egypt.

the Egyptian Aten is synonymous with the Hebrew Adoni.

  • Pay attention: He said "the bible says" yet his evidence was the amarna letters. The letters supersede what the bible says and yet we can have synthesis. He boyishly suspends the frigidity of post modern academia and allows for fascination and intrigue. Let the priests assert what is not known. The rest of us will continue digging, modifying conjectures and soon there will be conclusive evidences.

  • Total crap there never was a Moses and there was no Exodus .

  • What a waste of time! There was no Moses and there was no Exodus.

  • Nice one for loading this series i really like the way he puts history across, put more on please.

  • Anyone who reads Osman's books, Freud's "Moses and Monotheism," and Robert Feather's book, "The Copper Scroll of Qumran" will have a whole new perspective about the Book of Exodus.

  • Wow! this guy is really cool

  • He's like the Larry David of Archeology

  • i love TNA man

  • lol
