I first heard this as student at UMASS in 1977. I was blown away! I am now 59 and it still has me totally captive. This is the ultimate driving song doing 130 through the desert in Arizona. Movie time man... Power, elegance and F'n movement.
Played it every morning before catching the subway to Boston from Central Square. No coffee needed! Billy C, best drummer in the world, carried the beat while Faddis and Stamm blew the leads!!!
Thanks for posting this!! THIS is the song that introduced me to Deodato when I was in my teens back in the mid-late 80's. I believe I called a radio station back then and that's how I found out who did this. Glad I did, as I've been a fan since and will always be! My YouTube user name, as you might guess, is in tribute to him and has been that way for a long time. This album/cassette (yes, I still have both!) version of Skyscrapers has, in my opinion, the better ending than the CD version.
It seems strange but I see a a litler girl right side of the cover of the album, any one can see it?

Damn, this song smokes!! Is that a Moog or an Arp he's using on the solo?
