Can any one tell me the history of this music fest. This song sounds like a very strong song it brings people together and they look like they are one strong nation sing their song I love that I would love to see strong national pride here in the United States more.

The tradition started in 1869 along with the Estonian national awakening. The first music festival (laulupidu ) was held in Tartu, but now it takes place in Tallinn. It united all estonians and reminded us that as long as we sing and keep together, we will be free once again.

That day was like a dream come true to me I was there. It was a pleasure to feel that you are a part of Estonia, thousands and thousands of people have come to watch and listen and to hold on to the tradition of "Laulupidu."
