When did this country stop focusing on giving people more opportunity and start focusing on giving them more handouts to buy their votes?

We have helped more people around the world out of poverty and oppression than ANY other country or group of people in the history of the planet. Plus, if this is such a terrible placewhy are so many people literally dying to sneak in?

Our Nations founders understood that strong, free people could govern themselves. They created a government by the people and most importantly, FOR the people.

It is corrupt politicians who have been turning government into a vehicle to benefit only themselves. That is happening on both the right and the left.
