@azqkr The demo is a lie ( much like the cake ) it is set up to give the defender every advantage. An experienced gunman would never get that close to the victim.

In a perfect world sure it may work. I have never met anyone that has lived in this perfect world though..

Though it doesn't have to be that close, many BG's will stick it in your face or close up and personal.. In fact, I regularly demonstrate in my hand to hand courses I can take the gun from you with it 4-5 feet away from me. You can see my hands anytime you'd like, you'll be disarmed whether you can see them or not.

The demo was to show the arms at the furthest distance from the gun being able to make this work. I don't want to raise my arms like surrendering unless I'm told to move for some. Any movement on your part could bring gunfire. When you can do it with the arms straight down, you don't need any more advantage. The advantage is in knowing the skill itself.

Lucky he didn't do the break finger defense. I practice this often, and you can easily break the finger of the gun holder plus have them shoot themselves. Funny video.

You couldn't shoot me at 6 feet before I touched the gun. Don't believe that? Come into one of my classes, I regularly demonstrate my furthest range is 6 feet and still have it reliably work.

You probably practice often, that is a great thing. If I was really pulling a gun on someone, I wouldn't pull it 6 ft, because that can be reaching range, I would keep the gun near me and not you, LOL

it would make more sense to bring your arms up slowly and be like don't shoot don't shoot then you only have inches to get to the gun instead of feet

Oh really here's how I'm trained ... I don't fucking get near you with a gun much less hold it and press it up against you... there is always 2m minimum distance between us. You violate that minimum distance and I'll drop you.

@breedfreely Most thugs and pussies that do this usually want to be close and see the fear in you. They crave that power that the gun brings them and the power over you that the gun gives them. That is why these disarm techniques are usable. Someone with proper training realizes that being any closer than 2 meters can be a threat to them.

KFL21, I took a weekend of instruction from the poster of this video, and I was doing it (the disarm) within an hour of being shown how... I have since tried it on my friends with a triply-checked safed Glock, and NO ONE has been able to squeeze the trigger while the muzzle was still pointing to any part of my body...

i wanna see a paintball gun for this example and see if the attacer can shoot the disarmer before hes disarmed you will see that 9 out of ten times he gets shot

KFL21 I'm the disarmer in this video. I use 38 blanks quite often when demonstrating the disarms. Paintball?--thats not even a challenge. The 38 blanks can injure/mame or kill you like Brandon Lee.

I've been demonstrating this particular skill since 1981 when my mentors gave this to me. I've been shot exactly three times in over 2000 disarms.

We were taught the disarms in 5 minutes, had to perform them on the instructors almost immediately from both the front and rear or not pass the course. The instruction is most important
