Indeed a very good movie. But the thoughts and words of of Vora are in the unreal world. Any woman who is a wife would love to have an husband like Alex, for that is how his care for and the response from his children is in the movie.
Either of the following two conclusions are only possble..
1) Vera is mentally unwell resulting in her SELF BANISHMENT from life.
2)The Biblical reading on love is lacking more in Vora than in Alex. Avoid similar fate get St.Paul to teach us.

The chicken skin openingscene with the car is shot in Belgium in the old age industrial scape near Liegé. Many consider this area as the ugliest of europe. Only the alchemists of film can turn these dark grey dooms into a poetic experience. Seeing this fragment again i'am still flabbergasted.
