Guys, you don't have to run all three mouses and kill the boss here, just kill the first mouse when it falls (before it hits the floor) after you kick the bomb: butt the mouse first and then quickly kick it with a big boot (ahead-ahead-B).

Gosh this level was a nightmare for me. That third rat always seemed next to impossible for me to win. All I could do was curse the lack of an actual run button and dash left, and right...and left, and right...and left, and right..and le BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

Funny how you rammed the rats to get them to slow down, you know its actually possible to kill one of them, ending the level instantly. Ive seen it, though i dont know if its only possible on the GEN version (thats the ver. i saw it done). Ending the level in this way, lets you convienently skip the "hard boss" at the bottom (i never played this level ever) i suck that much lol

Good god, that level was the bane of my existence in Junior High! I don't think I ever actually got to the boss in this level. I don't think I realized you could ram the rats to make them miss some of the holes. Looks like it's time to give this game a try again with the miracle of emulation.

I'm definitely partial to this version of the game. I don't like how the genesis music never speeds up at all, not to mention they got general slaughter wrong and the difficulty was reduced (don't know about the rest of you but i like a challenge :D )

It might be because he cuts the footage every time he dies to make it look like he hasn't died. But I think I saw at the middle of the walkthrough, he starts with 0 points. So it seems like this isn't a true walkthrough.

After extended use a battletoads cartidge starts to glitch and this is one of the levels worst effected by it. On my friends cartridege as the level went on our toad woul gradully stand higer from the ground (As if the ground was a few feet below where it should be. By the last rat we were so high off the ground we couldn't kick the damn bomb! Thankflly when I bought my own copy it didn't suffer from this glitch.

There`s a trick (or glitch,bug,etc...) that allows you to skip the entire level...well not all the level but you only have to beat the first rat...no need to beat rats 2 n 3,and no need to beat the boss...

I could NEVER get past this level or the one after that. I used Game Genie to get to the end of the game. I noticed how this level looks like Level 8, in that it too has an elevator shaft theme. This time, though, you're going down, not up like you do in Level 8.
