  • ahaha he looks like my science teacher or something but haha thats beside the point this is good!

  • Awful.

    MUCH too fast.

Sloppy playing, and...I find you offensive to look at.

    You wanted opinions...

  • I learned this song at an ukulele circle today.

  • Cool. Nice version. Keep promoting the banjolele!

  • I noticed you don't have the weight problem that Tiny had. Yeah, I really liked his scratchy voice and delivery. One of the best compliments I ever had was when somebody told me I sounded just like him (if only). Some other songs I've done of his are I Get The Blues When It Rains, Ya Gotta Quit That Cheatin' On Me, Makes No Difference Now, and Knee Deep In Daisies. Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you and I'm sure glad you're doing it. Keep up the good work.

  • Nice job! I do the same arrangement with my band. Search for: Five Foot Two Eyes Of Blue - Has Anybody Seen My Gal @IDC 2010. I actually played the piano with Tiny Hill in 1965 at a dance hall in West Point, Iowa. Tiny invited me to join his band but I was signed up to go to Iowa Wesleyan College that fall. My band also plays Skirts, Ain't She Sweet and Angry. It's a pleasure to know that there are people out there who enjoy Tiny Hill's upbeat music.

  • @jnthneagles This is wonderful to read. Thank you. Tiny was my mother's cousin (Tiny's mom was her aunt). We grew up listening to all the 78's. I've been trying to record covers of all the songs Tiny did. Angry, Darktown Strutters, etc. I've got the sheet music for skirts, but haven't mastered it yet.

  • hahah i love this great job...im gonna learn this song on my uke now!!!!

  • im gonna learn that one, sounds good, thanks

  • Great version!!

  • My goldtone concert banjo uke is in the mail, and I can't wait to get it...Awesome stuff.

  • I'm thinking of buying a Gold Tone Banjo Uke but I was told they went out of tune easily. Have you had trouble with this? Oh and great job :)

  • I love this song. I have not ever seen real banjo Uke. This is rare instrument in my country. Thanks for showing what you did.

  • wow thats a little too fast, but good

  • banjo ukulele? i'm sure i've heard that being called a banjolele...

  • Yes, also a banjulele. It's been called many things. Some i can't reprint here! :D

  • Excellent performance !!! Thanks...

I've just started learning the uke and this will help me learn how to strum. My relatives from my parents/grandparent's generation used to get together and play this great old song when I was a kid, back in the 60's. Great old song.

  • Excellent video. I have been looking for a song, Skirts, by Tiny Hill. The phrase I remember is "Skirts, I dig those skirts..." we used to listen to it in the barn in Iowa when it was played on WMT out of Cedar Rapids. Do you have this song on any medium? Can you play it?

  • I have a copy of the sheet music, with music for piano and ukulele! I've been wanting to record it, but it's got some quick changes between some difficult chords. I'll be doing it someday - if you're a subscriber you'll get notified when I upload it. Thanks!

  • Very nice of you. It is in my memory somewhere--that's about it.

  • looks like a mental patient

  • Who do I remind you of from the institution?

  • Nice comeback!!!

  • Thanks! [****]

  • By the way, what brand is that? The banjo uke, I mean.

  • Gold Tone Deluxe. You can buy the regular model (without the resonator) and be okay - it's really too loud with the resonator to sing with.

  • Another question: what type of strings do you have on it? Are they Aquila?

  • Yes

  • my grandpa used to play this

    to me all the time

I like to play it alot!!!

  • Very inspiring for beginners like me ! What a great rendition of a great tune.

  • im 5 foot 2

and i have exremely blue eyes.

    im also 14...

but im in love with this song.

    you did a greatttt job!

  • It's okay. 14 year olds are allowed to have blue eyes. But are you a flapper? :)

    Thanks!

  • Great cover.

I'd like to learn alot of these tin pan alley songs on my ukulele and play at nursing homes.

  • Great idea! The old folks would really appreciate it!

  • As would (or, at least, should) younger folk. Especially if it gets them out of class for a little while. ;)

  • That's great. What's the turn around at the end of the verses?

  • Thank you. It's C, A7, D7, G7

  • Very cool, and that banjo uke has some serious mojo. That's going on my musical instrument wish list :)

  • It's LOUD! I had to practically shout over it to be heard! Thanks!

  • neat ...:)

  • Thank you! I luv Taos and N. New Mexico!

  • That's a lovely banjo uke you've got there! What make is it?

  • It's a Gold Tone.

  • GREAT I LOVE IT

  • THANKS

  • wicked man

  • Thanks dude!
