  • dude someone help me i got a mic in when i plus it to my computer i dont hear my shelf on it

  • this was very very very helpfull ive been all day trying to install my mixer and u helped me alot, now i just have one question, my mixer is also an interface and it has a midi to usb output, when I install it on my adobe audition software it starts recording but it stays silent, what can I do? i can hear me talking on the mic and i can hear the mix on my headphones but i cant make it appear in the recording

  • @DaBlackBooks Have you got any phono leads going from the tape out of your mixer into the left/ right input jacks on the back of your computer/soundcard?

  • @halfbakednignog well my mixer is also an interface, it has an usb output

  • @halfbakednignog i mean, its algo the soundcard, it doesnt need to be connected to a soundcard cuz when u connect it by the usb port the pc recognizes it as a soundcard

  • if i connect the mixer to my computer will it still work good?

  • First step...Don't buy a Behringer. :P

  • Very helpful - thank you

  • Hate to break it to you chief but that 1/4 male to male adapter you used is MONO. You just grounded your left to your right, neither the mixer or your interface like that. It's much easier to use a 1/4 to rca y adapter. Or 1/4 to rca plugs then regular stereo rca cables.

  • Can't you Shortcut Mixer to computer without Audio interface(via USB)?

would there be any difference if you use USB or microphone jack (3.5mm) to connect your mixer to computer ?

  • i am a drummer, I have a Peavey RQ 200 and i have no clue how to use it to mic my drums....i do not have one of those little red AV boxes like you have but i do have a Horizon straightline Passive direct box and another little tiny box that i think might be active im not sure but PLEASE HALP!

  • will i be able to plug an amps headphone jack into this so i can already have those effects that i have saved on it?

  • My question is, what about the CD/TAPE input on the mixer, is it going into the computer or the interface unit's output connectors? From your video, I can see that you have RCA cables plugged into the mixer's CD/TAPE inputs, but their destination/purpose wasn't mentioned. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

  • How can you connect the computer sound with the mixers sound in one headphone? Or easier said. How can you her muaic from your computer + hearing your own voice in the mixer? :)

  • @thehighlife96 all you will need for a usb mixer is the mixer with it being usb it would be the interface

  • Does this machine record tracks through each interface separately and can be controlled as such as well?

  • OR you can just use 2 1/4 to RCA cables to connect the mixer to the UCA-222!

  • Does this mean you can isolate all your channels as well?

  • @thehighlife96 nope just run the mixer directly into usb and thats it your done and it will be a much cleaner sound

  • I use a line 6ux2 to record my guitar along with cubase can I still ad a mixer to give me more control instead of using a mouse all the time

    ?

  • can u do the same with a p/c?

  • How did u make that intro

  • Cool, I really like the video, i understood more about hooking everything up. Now I'm ready to record! Thanks!

  • where all the sizes quarter inch?

  • This is way overcomplicated AND incorrectly overcomplicated. All those 1/4 inch adapters are unecessary, all you need is a male to male RCA cable and plug it into the output of the mixer and the input of the RCA to USB adapter!

  • Ok... the thing i don't get is why the hell are you using a MONO male to male adaptor when the source is STEREO!

This means that you cant pan, and you are only getting with right or left source (mono) rather than both (stereo)

In other words if you pan something to the right on you PC, you will hear it from both speakers where as if you pan it to the left you will hear nothing.

  • cheapest equipment

  • Hi, Nice video, I just got an Eurorack UB1622 fx pro like the one in the video, but there is a little noise, firstly was a major noise but it was removed by pressing 'Main Mix' button, but the little noise remains, can you help me?

there is not problem with the channel, or any cable, please, hel me :(

  • Maybe he doesn't realize there's RCA outputs on his mixer?

  • can't you just connect through usb instead of using an audio interface.

  • Doest work in iPad 2

  • Why do you need an audio interface if you have a mixer?

Can't I connect it through USB?

So a mixer is just for live stuff right and immediate effects?

  • can you record multiple tracks at the same time using this method. or do all the interments record on the the same track? thanks for the vid. it was a lot of help. please reply

  • what if your recording a whole band at the same time with like a 16 in mixer? can you make them all stereo the same way?

  • Nice Blue Yeti. :D

  • Okay, so I have a question about my Sony UWP-V6 wireless microphone system. I shoot weddings and what not and use this wireless system to record. I would like to be able to use it off the mixer but don't really know how to hook it up.

  • @tukingapahu Basically set up the mixer with the microphones you have for the wedding, make sure that your getting good signal, and no clipping (red light blinking on channel) then run a 1/2 inch stereo out jack from the main L, R output and use the right adapter to go into your camera.. for more mixing tips videos check out indepthmusic1

  • thx dude this is really helpfull , but still need some others help concerning the output and the input cuz ive just bought that mixer so i dont know how to start with it :ss

  • @galder006 for more mixing tips videos go to indepthmusic1

  • I applaud him trying... however - the "talent" doesn't understand signals and connections.

The wiring between the Mixer and the A->D converter are not only Kludgy - but also won't work. With his wiring scheme he would lose one of the stereo outputs, since it would be shorted to ground.

Besides not working... 2 - 1/4" to RCA cables would be CLEARER and also would allow stereo to be "SEEN" by the next stage.

I bet he was wondering why he only gets ONE side.

  • do you absolutely need an interface? I don't know I'm not good with this stuff

  • If you're going to use a RCA to USB interface then use the RCA outputs and inputs that were built into the mixer. that's what they're there for. That way you have the music that your recorded going back into the mixer so you can listen to it and do an accurate mix.

It's a shame that I went to school for 4 years, and people still think that a mixer and interface are all you need for recording.

  • will the Behringer U-Control UCA-222 will work on macbook pro 2011 with lion 10.7.2

  • you have a mono connection going into your computer. Just get two male 1/4" plugs to RCA adapter and an RCA cable to run this setup in stereo.

  • TANX, M8...

..AND NOW, ROCK N`ROLL...FAST\DOOM\DARK\THRASHING, RAW METAL!!! COOL

  • How are the preamps in that Behringer? Is there any bleedover from one mic input to the next? There really wouldn't be any way that Garage Band separates the channels into their own separate tracks, right? Well, I guess if you're recording just two channels, you can pan one full left and the other full right.

  • Hi thanks for your help. I want to make a video of me singing some karaoke tunes and put it on you tube. I want to use a mixer to get the sound right. What do I need. camera, a mixer like this and some type of editing software? Thanks again.

  • Hello

How do i connect a dj mixer (numark m1 2 channel) and a audio interface (cakewalk ua-25 ex) into a mixer (Yamaha MG124C live mixer) with studio monitors?

Do have to plug the speakers into the audio interface or in the mixer?

    Bye

  • does it have phantom power?

  • I have a behringer eurorack ub1832fx-pro. mine has a monitor slider and mono output. i just plug a guitar cord in and adapt down to my computers mic jack. its worked for me so far but i still want to try the Audiophile 192 pci card. because ASIO is a lot better than a mono mic input right?

  • @WorkingManStudios Please tell me, can you connect a mixer straight to a Top amp? Please answer!

  • 4:31 that silver conector was me last night

  • ok this is kind of n annoying question, im planning on buying a mix board like this...i have no clue on what its all about, the only expierence i have is fl studio and shit, could anyone help me?

  • Thanks for the video...this was great achievable advice in your tutorial. In addition, I appreciated the fact that you are using affordable equipment. Not all of us can afford the over-the-top setups.

  • STRAP-O N DILDO DOUBLE HEADED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have an akai xr20 beatpad that i want to use with garageband, so i bought the behringer UCA220 interface... hooked it all up, but garageband is not recognizing any of it.. anyone...help??

  • @WorkingManStudios: this is a good video... and you are very correct in calling them RCA's.

    Composite/RCA/RGB are all correct names;

Don't let anyone put you down brother. Keep on keeping on

  • any setup is a good setup. thanks for sharing, workingman!

  • oh god portable Behringer AI sucks so hard haha :D

  • Hi, can u do multi tracking with this? If not what do you need?

  • @seanawkaihian Alesis Multimix 16 USB 2.0

USB 1.1 specification doesn't support multi tracking.

  • Total newbie, I have several friends who gather together in one quite big room in the Uk, I am in another Country with another group, what we want to do is talk one group to another using Skype. We need two mikes in each room per group, hope you understand me? anyway is there a way to achieve this running a small mixer, oh yes we want to be able to connect a cd at each end also so we can chat and play cd's. Thanks in advance.

  • I would personally go to the electronics hardware store and get two mono male jacks, screened stereo cable and two phono jacks and make me the cable I need if they don't already have it in the store... also, man, the male-to-male adapter you used there is mono ... you're short circuiting the other channel ...

  • Do you get any Latency with the connection? Is that Behringer USB records the instrument in real time? that means exactly at the same time you play a chord you can hear it and record it live? I have had some issues with that kind of stuff.

  • can I asked u something

    so what is SUB

  • how would i record two mics at the same time on different channels, like multi-micing an acoustic guitar or guitar amp?

  • So many porn references!

  • haha this whole video is about lesbians and dildos… anyways… okay so if i have a good usb mic i cant use that with a mixer??

  • thanks for this tutorial this is very useful to me!!

  • Awesome tutorial dude.

  • Whats the point of the usb audio interface? Is the sound quality better than the soundcard itself? I guess it depends on the soundcard. Why not just go from the mixer straight to the computer mic? Thanks!

  • hi my auido interface hasnt got red and white inputs its a line 6 ux2.....but it has line inputs...is thst the same ????? thanx great video

  • thanks

  • why dont you u go out of ur tape

  • why is the female the fat end of the cable?

  • That male to male 1/4 adapter is mono, You need to get a stereo one.

  • I know this stuff by heart, I don't know why I watched like 23 videos on this...

  • what software should i get if i have a Toshiba laptop?

  • is there are reason you decided to use a mono 1/4 inch Y splitter to connect to your Main STEREO LEFT/RIGHT OUT rather than connect each of the LEFT/RIGHT of the Main OUT to the LEFT/RIGHT Stereo IN of the UCA222 to obtain STEREO sound?

  • how much did your mixer cost?

  • if the mixer already has a usb cable, do you need an interface

  • Dude.. I have the exact mixer!! Been wanting to know how to connect this to my interface.. (M-audio ultra )... 1 important question that I have is how the heck do I record my vocals in stereo? I'm using channel 1 for mic, software is Sonar 7 PE...

  • @Unplugged704 Use 2 mics - you'll connect each mic to its own channel. be sure to separate the mics by some distance to get an adequate stereo dimensional effect. You might also look to find a STEREO Mic (esentially 2 mics together) - you will still have to connect each channel (LEFT & RIGHT) to separate input MIC channels to get stereo. You'll also need to make sure you are routing the appropriate MIC to to the appropriate LEFT and RIGHT channel to get the effect.

  • nice vid, how many of them cables do you get with the mixer? :) x

  • Hey dude, You should probably get an full L and R cable to get a Stereo Sound instead of a Mono sound out of your Interface into your Computer

  • when yau said "the 2 females don't go together," I thought "what if they are lesbian?"

  • I have the same mixer.! I have a Rode NT1A mic directly connected to M-Audio, recording via Sonar 7 PE. However when recording.. it's only in mono. How do I record in stereo with only 1 mic? ... I've been thinking about connecting mic to mixer>interface.. what's the best setup? thanks.

  • i find your video intrested , but i still have one question ...

i can really record the way you shown, but if i wanna record multitracks how am i going to do it and hear myself and the music in the same time ? cause otherwise it goes recording the music and my voice on multitracks session you got me ?

so i wanna records with hearing myself and the music but it only my voice who can be recorded solo voice

    thanks .:)

  • Behringer products are all about real waste, not to serve or initial garage band. I bought a tube mic preamp 100 and regretted it, burned without even using 10 times

  • Will the Beh 222 solve the problem of having a bad soundcard? I use Adobe Audition multitract but have not found a good soundcard to work with my Windows 7.

  • I need the owners manual for that. I have one.

  • hi,i want to know that by using uca 222 to join the mixer, can we see all channel inputs of mixer in individual in computer?neuendo or in cubase?

  • thx this was helpful!

  • the adapter is mono but both cables are stereo..

  • Comment removed

  • Why do I need an interface? Why not go directly into the computer?

  • I hope this setup works with the Behringer xeynx 802 mixer. I just ordered that one.

  • I found an adapter your talking about on Amazon:

    ama zon . com/gp/product/B000068O16/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    its a

Dual 1/4 To Dual RCA Cable... would that work?

  • Where can i get a 2 female to male adaptor from?

  • if ur mixer has a usb out would u lose any sound quality by doing it tht way and not using a audio interface

  • but i have a behringer xenyx 802 mixer...how would i set it up on that???

  • can do this process with a regular desktop pc, and is it to be a usb mixer?

    Thank you i will appreciate.

  • Can you make a video of explaining the out puts and stuff on the back? Thank you for the video

  • the mixer im getting is the Behringer XENYX X1222USB and since it has a usb connection from the back of it to the computer will i still need the RCA cables and the uca 222?

  • I am incredibly confused about your output configuration... why in the world would you take a left and right channel and merge them into a splitter so that you can take a male to male to male phono adapted and then split that output to go to a left and right channel for your USB converter. Why not just take to single RCA to phono cables and connect the left and right channels directly and maintain the integrity of you stereo output?

  • I just bought a mixer for my microphone to record sound & connect to my computer. But it doesn't have a volume slider or a mute or main button or volume preamp :/ how do I connect it to my pc computer & produce & record sound?

  • Thanks!

  • How Do u get the beat or sound onto the mixer?

  • @rawrgrr4298: I know they are not called RCA but the common term that most people know them by is RCA so im gonna stick with that. My setup is not supposed to be great. Its what I can afford, hence "workingmanstudios". I use apogee interfaces out via mains in my studio. This is an easy setup that most people can afford. Nothing behringer is amazing im sure you know that. I have much to learn about audio equipment but i am in no way ignorant to the subject like you suggested.

  • @WorkingManStudios Thanks for the video man, don't worry about rawrgrr4298, he's just trolling.

  • @WorkingManStudios and actually, they are called RCA connectors because RCA designed that connector. So technically yau are both using the correct terms

  • @WorkingManStudios i honestly thing behringer are amazing

  • @rawrgrr4298 -- you're a dick, where is YOUR video?

    Thought so.

  • @rawrgrr4298 Everyone has their favorites and most hated. Some like Ford, some like Chevy. There is no reason to get nasty. I love my little mixer for what I use it for. (same as in vid).

  • @rawrgrr4298 What mixer would you suggest? I see that Behringer is not the most expensive but it seems to do the job for most people's purposes on YouTube podcasts and commentaries. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • @rawrgrr4298 Last thing...I guess I should have asked this question instead but here's the million dollar question. What makes the Behringer a bad choice? Thanks in advance.

  • @rawrgrr4298 BEHRINGER SOUNDS CLEAN TO ME, WHAT KIND OF MIXER DO U USE?

  • @rawrgrr4298 (lol 3 months ago I know) but i really have to say this: Behringer IS cheap and nasty IN SOME CASES I know, but since you wanted ONE product named that does a great job - Behringer DDM 4000 Mixer, awesome piece of equipment, nothing like other Behringer products, around about 400 bucks (not A&H or Pioneer comparable) BUT a very nice piece of equipment. You will not get any product that is anywhere near that Behringer in that price range!

  • @rawrgrr4298 You're a fucking mug.

  • Just use the tape outs (RCA) and go straight into the uca USB module and your done

  • hi i have purchased behringer 1204usb, i am using adobe audition 3.0 , could you please help me to hook up all the device. i have a karoake system and mic, how can i play my karoke track and record in adobe audition. could you please help me

  • ayyy bro i have a behringer xynex 802 and a m-audio fast track with the singel mic input with 48v...how would i coonect the mixer to my m-audio because in the back it just has one red and one white outputs and the usb concctor and the 48v siwtcher????

  • why don't you just use the RCA out???

  • what wires and suff came with the mixer?

  • maybe there lesbians hahaha 4:08

  • you have converted your main stereo out to mono with that male to male adapter!

  • 4:05 lezbo cables

  • Thanks for the video. Much appreciated

  • recording lately weve just plugged the mixer into the usb of my laptop, is that bad that we dont have an rca interface. what exactly does it do.

  • That was a pretty darn good, informative video..thx... I have two questions

    1. In a live situation, will you connect to your computer this way, while using the XLR outputs to your mains ?

    2. On your mixer, you have 12 channels, but only 4 XLR inputs. Can you explain why and how to use the channels with no XLRs. Why do they combine the channels where there are no XLRs, and what are they used for. I'm trying to learn about mixers and have not found the answer to this basic question.Thx

  • Haha the sound systems having an orgy lo :P I just have phono from mixer to phono pc, is this wrong, As I thought I did'nt need a interface with having built in preamps for the audio mixer. The problem I suppose am having is low mic sounds. Also to set a p.a. system to the pc, do you have pa speackers to power am, power am to graphic e.q, and that to audio mixer, to pc, or do you need a seperate audio interface and/or microphone preamp to pc. I have'nt worked it out properly.

  • Hello WorkingManStudios, Looks like the setup is incomplete becasue your Mac have no return to the mixer so if you have studio monitors you can not listen your Mac. Can you explain the complete setup please?

    Thank you.

  • This is why i use a condense microphone... -_-

  • its great for skype guys, deifinately buying it

  • @magnetmixer lol so convenient!

  • I find it slightly noisy for recording, but maybe that's just the way I hook it up. I'm kind of "old school" simple. I go from the tape out to the "stereo line in" on my sound card. (Sound Blaster Live) I love the Chorus/Reverb effect #53 for vocals and it makes my Ovation Adamas 12 string sound AMAZING.

  • @Mozart1220 I agree. I've had my mixer for years and didnt even realise my xenyx 2222fx came with a USB connection box thingy. I hooked it up recently and found it to be very noisy. Needless to say I went back to my usual method of left & right RCA(Phono) connection from the mixer into a small single stereo jack on the line-in of my Yamaha SW1000XG Soundcard. Originally I had a Sound Blaster AWE32 with Yamaha DB50XG daughterboard plugged in, I've still got them too! Those were the 486 days.

  • if your using a usb interface do u need to press usb thru to get the stuff from the mixer onto the pc?

  • He's using my exact mixer!

  • @Mozart1220: Hope you like it!

  • words cannot express how grateful i am that you made this video. seriously thank you so much!

  • @Jzguitarplayer17: Your welcome :) you guys are the reason I made the videos

  • thankyou asshole

  • @MysteriouzRecords: Your welcome, you prick

  • Your male to male adapter is mono? that's gonna affect your stereo connection isn't?

  • @Zhorellski: I only record in mono and then mix it to stereo in post

  • In which case take the outputs from the Aux bus for one channel and the Effects bus for the other channel.

  • Needs to be on stereo not mono?

  • @BeastlyTreeMan101: I only record in mono. no instrument is stereo unless you are using multiple mics

  • I don't agree. If you are recording mono tracks you would be better taking your recording line from the aux out. You can then feed the output from the sound card back to the mixer and from the mixer to your monitors.

This way you can monitor the input through the mixer and avoid latency delays.

You can also set up multiple inputs to the mixer and decide which ones to record while still hearing all the rest.

If you want to record the whole mix take it from the tape out.

  • @beakyturbot: The way I figured it out works well for me. I can monitor without latency and get great results. Thanks for the input.

  • @MrMrstewartbig I haven't seen any of these mixers that don't have phantom power. If it has XLR inputs it probably has phantom power.

  • u didnt hook up you usb mixer right u use the 4 rca ports on both of them

  • @drumsetkiller365: its right i just choose not to use the other 2. I have a different method than what they tell you to do.

  • @WorkingManStudios

These aren't Transformers to mix, match and roll out whichever way you happen to stick them together! Your pride is keeping others from learning the 'efficient way'. Your way seems harmless to you but all your doing is giving yourself a much better chance for a degraded signal.

And by the way those other 1/4" jacks on the back for each channel (that u briefly mention) are channel inserts (for outboard equipment) not 'outputs' as you state in your video.

  • i think its easier to use RCA cables with RCA-1/4' cable -.-, less cables, less adapters, less money!

  • @albertodhc: i'd agree but I used what i had at the time
