During an extended patrol, I wouldn't want this thing powered on all the time. Battery life is limited due to the higher power consumption of the holographic projector. Your typical red dot is just a low-power LED projected on a non-reflective lens. Much lower power consumption over time. Basically, if you don't have access to these 3-volt batteries and don't get back to base often, you're SOL if you don't have those handy-dandy flip-up iron sights.

I have one and believe me, it's one of the best things you can get for your AR. Anything up to and including about 150 yards and you'll love it.

EoTech's remind me of Glock's, they're shapes never change and they come in all different sizes. I still prefer AimPoint due to the out standing battery life.

ireland. the laws here are funny when it comes to guns and optics. you cant get a semi-auto rifle larger than.22lr and any optics using lasers are restricted

Yeah, but they are just industrial Energizer. They work well enough to sight the optic in.

I recommend energizer lithium, they are a little lighter and a lot longer.
