Very nice review. You answered all of my questions but one...
How do you feel the accuracy with this system (a trigger) is in comparison with the magnet sensor the stock pedal, Rock Pedal, and etc. use? By comparison, I mean it registering in the game when you push down on the pedal.
@ThisIsNotSharyn There's really no comparison. An impact trigger like this one (that registers when you actually strike it) is always going to be more accurate than a magnetic sensor. This one is night & day better.
@davidshek That's what I figured. I bought the Rock Pedal and returned it after 2 days...because I cannot stand the magnet sensor. For that reason, I cannot understand why people spend the money on that instead of putting it towards a trigger.
I actually had another question. Why would you NOT play on the max sensitivity (on the trigger box)? Would it mess up if I played on max sensitivity and hit it hard? When the notes are slow, I hit hard. When they're fast, the hits are less powerful.
@ThisIsNotSharyn Problem there is when it's at max sensitivity, even the slightest vibration to the kick pedal or trigger will set it off. So you'll get misfires all over the places when you just shift your foot, or double-hits when you hit hard.
@816BENNY That's a Yamaha Flying Dragon DFP-8215 double pedal, I've had it for a long long time. Can't remember where I got it, I think maybe Guitar Center. Costs around $350 new.
Hey, dunno if you'll be able to get back to me, but I bought that pedal and the red box trigger box you show; I'm having serious issues. It double hits or won't register sometimes. Tips?
Love the Dream Theater T-shirt. I think I'll pay the extra $10 and get a Yamaha KP65 when I take the plunge for a kickbox/trigger combo though, thanks for the review
Hi, i am thinking about buying this set (the pedal's and the drum) and i wondered if it is possible to disconnect the pedals from the drum stand, and use the double bass pedals on a regular drum set aswell?
Yes, absolutely. I demonstrated attaching and detaching the pedals in Part 1 of this review. The pedals that come with these are regular real drum pedals, you can use them on any drums you want.
I bought this pedal 1 month ago, after talking to David and I must say, this product is absolutely amazing. It picks up everything and with the Kickbox its even more amazing.
+ With an Iron Cobra double pedal, its mindblowing.
Thanks for the advice about 3 months back David on how to get the Kick Trigger etc. to work :-)!
Hye, does the roadie work for Guitar hero warriors of rock? With or without the rock band box?

@Arithys That's not what this video was about. I have an entirely other video for the Roadie Kick Box RB, just haven't published it yet.

Do you know what kind of pedal it is? And whether it's any good?
JOEX2210 2 years ago
I believe it's an OSP SP-500 pedal. No idea if it's any good, since they didn't send me one. :)
davidshek 2 years ago
Aah, I think that's the one that's sold with the KD8 on RBP. Apparently it's quite nice.
JOEX2210 2 years ago
Oh sorry, my bad, it's actually the SP-250 that comes with the Kick Rocker.
davidshek 2 years ago
Ooh, that's an unknown quantity XD

Can you do a long term durability test for the Kickrocker in the near future as well as a comparison to the other kick triggers?
iciclepyro 2 years ago
The kick trigger comparison is the next one on my list, yep. :)
