  • if the devil had a car this is how it would sound............i love it !!

  • did you get good power out of this ?

  • @TheSleepermgm I have yet to go back to the dyno.

  • @BlackVicP71 what about your but dyno ??

  • i am goig to get the stainless works headers for my 2000 grand marquis,,i am going to run them on my set up i have on it,,,,i have the stock h-pipe with flowtch afterburner with turndowns,,do yo think they will sound as deep as yours ?? with the turndowns ? they sound deep with my manifolds but i just dont wont the crack and pop sound that most headers give cars,, i am going for vary vary deep and evil like yours,,,,,,lol

  • I wanna do the Stainless Works L/T Header w/ O/R Lead Pipes, with the Magnaflow 16788 Cat-Back in a 02 CVPI, but I'm not gonna run the tailpipes, and I wanted to swap the mufflers out for Magnaflows smallest 2.25 Offset IN / 2.25 Offset OUT Muffler; Part# 11235. It's gonna fuckin GROWL!!! And then with no H or X-Pipe, it's gonna be deep as hell...

  • @159002 Are you getting all the parts for free? That is the only way your plan makes any sense aside from the headers.

  • @159002 the h-pipe will make it deeper then straights and the straights will pop and crack when you rev her up....my h-pipe gave me the ols muscle car sound..the x will be a little higher in sound but the straights will sound like a old pickup truck no matter what mufflers you put on and you will lose power and torque..a h-pipe gives low end torque , x-pipe it top end torque put straights do nothing but sound bad and take power from you,,,,good luck

  • @TheSleepermgm Actually you're wrong. For a while I had Straight Piped the rear Cats, stock Exhaust & H-Pipe w/ Weld In Flows on a 00 P71. The sound was okay, but it just wasn't enough for me; So I had the H taken out & 2.25 Inch Pipe bent and welded from the front cats to the mufflers, and the sound was WAAYY DEEPER, and I didn't notice any major HP/TQ Loss...

  • @TheSleepermgm Although there are some power gains to be had with a properly place H or X-Pipe, the gains are actually minimal over straight pipes. The main reason OEMs use H-pipes is simply for acoustics. GM had been famous for years using resonators at the ends of their STRAIGHT dual exhaust systems, while Ford preferred the H-Pipe. But they really accomplished the same thing; A much mellower tone.

  • @TheSleepermgm If properly placed, and of the perfect size for the application, some minor scavenging can be accomplished by an H or X pipe. But the increases are minimal. The balance of flow between the tubes only affects the SOUND. There is no doubt in my mind that Magnaflow designed that 16788 kit with straight pipes for a reason. It simply sounds great and offsets the tiny gain an H-pipe OR X-Pipe might bring....

  • @159002 i think you should google x-pipe and h-pipe dyno charts......the gains are not small....

  • @159002 have you google image searched h-pipe and x-pipe dyno charts yet ? i know the gains are anything but small....if you find anything under 10-15rwhp let me know...? 10-15rwhp comes out to 20-25hp at the crank..a 250 crank hp crown vic will put down 200rwhp..the drive train on the panther killes power bad....
