  • better make sure no 80 ft waves come thru

  • i got a question about spearfishing! are no scuba tanks necessary?

  • @Mesagne1987 Scuba tanks are not necessary. There are many free divers who enjoy spearfishing which allows you to get out faster with less gear. You just have to make certain you do what is comfortable for you.

  • @OutdoorChannel and for how long do they hold the breath? cause my record is 1.30 minutes without doing anything :-D

  • @Mesagne1987 you can do scuba, but the bubbles scare the fish easier.

  • so these seppo's travel for over 4 hours so they can shoot dirty kingy's. yas must be desperate over there

  • shoot the fucking seal

  • I don't like marlin much they are mean

  • HA! It's like the Old Man and The Sea...damn seal.

  • Sealion has left the room.

  • sealions are cool

  • i made a spear gun check the video out

  • i would have shot that fucking seal!

  • gut shots are the worst. i've lost many a fish from gut shots as they power off and fight with such ferocity that they rip themselves clean off. pays to have a double flopper though, or even a breakaway tip

  • Dr. Terry Maas is awesome.

  • best shot is in the gills no rip off, hope to hit the spine!

  • sick fuckers

  • that seal was pissing me off and i wasnt even there!

  • I dont think that yellows over 50 pounds are rare. i fished san clemente with a buddy and we got 10 over 50 and 1 at about 45 pounds

  • I woulda hit that seal with a 12 gauge boom stick

  • @willscomputer2

i woulda hit it with a trillion gauge boom stick

  • @ilikedoingdrugs a trillion guage would be smaller than the head of a pin, the higher the gauge the smaller the barrel

  • where abouts is a instant kill spot on a fish?

  • im not sure myself but probably behind the eyes, the top of the head region most likely but if you find out let me know aswell cheers mate

  • Just below the shoulder..

  • @Lambycapo there brain which is quite small but you usually go for the gills

  • @123xsw2zaq1 i always go for kill shots on larger fish. makes it easier to get a feed without the countless fighting and playing of the fish. they are hard to get but sometimes you dont even need to hit the brain to get a stun shot. once i hit a samson fish through the eyes and it twitched a bit and then stopped. the iki jimi was what killed the thing

  • shitload of sharks there

  • whoaaa nice fish yah ure right phil has great fish . and im spearing it here

  • Excelente spot! Pena que asa imagens não sejam melhores.....

  • how do they stay down for so loong o.O

  • nice shot a the end ! it feel so good being under the water, dive and everything

  • my ultimate diving dream would be to dive at "palaou" (im not sure how to spell it)

i dont know about the rest but in sweden you are allowed to take a diving sertificate at the age of 12!

    (excuse my spelling)

  • the best diving site is in the philippines you shouls try and go there .

  • i have snorkled there...

  • A little disappointing to travel so far out to sea and just spear yellowtail...Terry's other films are much better I've been watching them since I was a kid.

  • One of the best places for free diving and spearfishing is the sea of Cortez in Baja California.

  • I'd like to see you get food from either on land or under water without having to buy it... I bet you would starve within a week.

  • @lexmark136 could steal and survive, if you get caught you go to jail where they feed you... you can dig around in dumpsters or go find some fruit.

  • @lexmark136 steal it! lol

  • @lexmark136 Assuming stable fish populations, I could spearfish 1 day/week from shore and feed myself for the rest of my life. Furthermore if I could trade fish for vegetables, spices and staples, I'd be able to make some killer recipes to boot (2 days/wk). If it were legal for me to sell the fish i'd shot, I would have enough to buy all my dive gear also (3 days/wk). All seaweeds off California are edible and so are many invertebrates. Not only could I eat, I'd eat better than most.

  • the ocean water is so beautiful . ^^

  • spearfishing is such a fun and enjoyable hobby, and u get a free dinner, whats better then that?

  • diving shops

  • where do u get spearguns at??

  • bambo reef monterety bay not so cheep.

  • walmart

  • just give him the fish dork

  • if you like hunting and water ...spear fishing is the way to go ill say!!!

  • spearfishing is something u never get tired of no matter what might be in front of you or behind :)

  • what great mates, they drove off about 3hrs before they realised their buddy was missing ? lol ...

  • Are there not Great White Sharks there? I was under the impression they lived and killed people and seals there.

  • What?

  • Would rather surf at Cortes bank thank spearfish :P

  • spearfishing?

  • Sweet guys!!

  • Seals are all over in Cali and can be very nasty. Don't let their good looks fool you, they are like pit bulls with fins. I'v had them jump onto the boat to take fish.

  • spearfishing, especially while freediving is one the the most intimate hunting experiences you can have. i highly recommend it.

  • Hunting humans is more fun for a tiger shark.

  • so glad there are no seals where i dive..they woul dbe a major nightmare :) awsome vid....

  • Amazing shots with that sealion...
