  • Professor Davis certain has good German. <3

  • Seemed quite well versed in German!

  • Great to see a youthful Steve Winwood here. Terrific upload. Thanks.

  • Wow, I think in all the years I watched this great music program Spencer is the only non-German artist they had on who could speak German,. VERY cool! Good on ya, Spencer(and he was cute as a squirrel's nuts)! :)

  • Play that Kay!

  • Stevie sings how he was just seventeen. In fact he was not much older doing this.

  • very cool !! and very groovy yeah !!! thank you .. peace .. Lyndloo..

  • Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.

Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.

  • At 0:52 the MC inserts "Andrea...and Sherry for 'Green Onions'" into his blitzy intro. Is this German humor?

  • @BobBerkeley

Not sure if anybody responded. The MC was mentioning Don and Cherry who played ''Green Onions'' just prior to this clip.

  • I like the moment when Stevie sings: "When I was just a little boy of seventeen..."

All my respect, love and worship to him!

  • @emilzd Yes, he has a little smile there. I think he had just celebrated his 18th birthday!

  • @Putaspellonyou

That "fat kraut" is an American DJ who was highly regarded in Gemany. His Name was Mal Sondock.

  • @shoutandshimmy wow. his german is pretty good

  • In honor of Spencer Davis' birthday, the first song I heard by The Spencer Davis Group,(1966) "Somebody Help Me" and the bluesy "Sittin and Thinkin", with Spencer (instead of Stevie) singing lead. These two songs are not as well known as" I'm A Man" &" Keep On Runnin". They were one of the most outstanding bands of the 60's.

  • come to israel **************stars

  • just amazing performance! thanks for sharing-rare clip

  • Rare to see Stevie Winwood on lead guitar. Very few people remember that Stevie was a credible guitar player as well.

  • Like that bluesey No. great live performance.5*

  • that was great. thanx for posting such rare fine stuff. these white boys sure played the best of the blues. winwood still does not sure about spencer

  • Yeah, Winwood certainly still does. I saw him with Clapton last spring, and they were both fantastic.

  • No spencer doesn't. He just sits in his house and answers in German.

  • spencer davis group is cool! but this guy in the beginning is plain awful.

  • I'll take a Rock bands' live performance over a lipsync one anytime.

  • Fresh soul charging sound

  • Mal was bigger than life & twice as wild & fun. I'm his niece in the US & it's great to finally get to see some of what he was doing in Germany during his prime. Thanks for posting this! ~ Julie

  • Cool. Our old radio-DJ M A L Sondock! He was the host of the on-air-personalityshow called "Mal Sondock's Hitparade" in the 1980's and with the show called "Discothek im WDR" in the 60's and 70's. This is his very short TV-Gig called Beat Beat Beat in the 1960's. Very good show. Thanks for posting it.

More about Mal: mal-sondock-fanpage, wiki or radio-unna. RIP

  • Spencer Davis allways reminded me of Paul McCartney .

  • This young Winwood: 18 years old! Simply amazing!

  • He was 16...born in 1950.

  • En el 50 no. Steve nació en Mayo de 1948, creo que el 13 de mayo.
