  • 0:35. Where is that?

  • @Dimitri0809 East St Kilda, off Inkerman St

  • I have a question. How is that guy who doesn't like the street art planning to get rid of all of it?

It seems like he'll be busy for the next century trying to erase all of it.

I think his name is Brumby. In that book I have, there's a definition for a brumby, but it doesn't strike me as a pleasant on.

  • He's passing laws to prosecute the artists as criminals

  • That's terrible. Why is he so uptight about it?

    I think it's nice art.

  • good stuff

  • Cheers

  • The two BIG FACES that start at 1:10.

I've always wondered who did them. There's an even bigger one of these faces, 5 of them I think at Balaclava Station on the Sandy Line.

I've always thought they were done by Ha-Ha, does anyone know who actually does/did them?

    They're amazing!

  • I have no idea who the artists are

  • 0:35

What? Sonic the Hedgehog finally realize that none of his games have originality?

  • He does look a bit sad

  • Maybe Amy dumped him for Pikachu.

  • ahahahahaha!!!! you made me laugh so hard just the way u told us what u were going to do at the start of the video

  • I tell the truth!

  • lol the sonic graff is near carisle street and so is 0:24 =]

  • I'll take your word for that

  • reka is so good

  • It's all good.

  • reka... i remeber that dude use to write graffiti in auckland, new zealand when i was like 7.

or it might be a different guy...

  • Yeah Reka is sick.

Not as good as Pilfer/Pilfa though. He's the best I've seen.

I was on my way to the footy yesterday (AFL), and I was on the Frankston Train, and from Malvern to Sth Yarra is THE BEST graffiti you'll ever see.

There's pieces, rollies etc. SO good.

Armadale or Toorak would be my favorites.

Also, anyone know the group GB?

They're around that Malvern area and they do heaps on the Sandy Line as well.

  • im off to melb at the end of the year im so pumped to paint

  • 1:10 - 1:17 phibs and reka

  • I'll take your word for that

  • Itz, hott, where s this?

    -Rio

    313

  • All around Melbourne.

  • From the mean streets of South Central LA, all the way to Melbourne Australia!!!

  • It's a style you see all around the world! :)

  • Is that a Crying Sonic the Hedgehog?

and is that Noodle from the Gorillaz?

  • Yes and yes.

  • Noodle! :D and aww poor Sonic :(

  • That sonic pose and picture is taken straight out of an Archie comic book cover. Is that bad? No! It's quite impressive that someone can take such a small picture and recreate it near perfect on a much larger scale and still make it look good!

Don't know if the Sonic Says segment against graffiti approves though. XD

  • That person must be a true artist, whoever they are...they have talent.

  • what the hell is that blue thing at 0:36?

  • A bit of artwork

  • Sonic?

  • I never thought he deserved to be painted on a wall.

  • Gee thanks alot ^.^

  • Hey I was wondering, could you tell me where in Melbourne you saw the graffiti? I really like it, and have been searching around for graffiti to use in a project I'm working on.

  • It's all around - lots of places in the city. St Kilda Junction tram stop is another good one.

  • toy

  • ppl over in melbourne at least put effort into their art all i see around where i live is drawings of penises all over the place its so immature

  • Some of the best stuff in the world is here.

  • Duel has done commissioned works on shops, do you know if it was his work?

  • I have no idea who the artists are - I just shoot what I see.

  • Duel, who features in Sprayed Conflict, and whose works have been all around Melb, is one of Australia's pioneering graffiti artists. He has a solo show at Kick Gallery, 239 High St Northcote from Thurs 24th April 08 (opening night 7-9pm) and running to May 3rd and his pieces and huge sculptural works will be there. Enjoy.

  • Thanks for spreading the word!

  • Duel's my brother. I dead proud of him. We're both artists, but I have great admiration for his work. :-)

  • My boss hired two artists to paint all his shops. It's very pretty and their signature is a kind of assurance that there will be no inscriptions like "Tom loves Julia" or "Viva Real" on the walls.

  • Well, there will be eventually, but it slows it down.

  • "where self expression proudly belongs" couldn't of said it better

  • We have some great alleys in Melbourne.

  • thanks, yeah i know cause i do most of my "public" art in Melbourne. i think Melbourne is the best city in Australia, but I have only lived in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne so i can't truly judge. We have such a great ethos and artistic spirit (in general

  • thanks, yeah i know cause i do most of my "public" art in melbourne. i think melbourne is the best city in australia, but i have only lived in perth, sydney and melbourne so i can't truely judge. we have such a great ethos and artistic spirit (in general)

  • melbourne tha new home of graff art!!! what suburb u in?

  • This stuff is all around St Kilda

  • ahhh yea, the closer to the city you the more there is, im like an hours drive from the city but there's still some good stuff 'round here

  • hey angry aussie. lol. think you're abit confused. you might have seen some work in a alley but that doesnt mean it belongs there. Graffiti belongs everywhere hopefully one day on ya front door...

  • That's just my sense of humour :)

  • That is some really nice art.

  • There's heaps of great stuff about Melbourne.

  • It boggles my mind what someone can do with a couple cans of spraypaint. This certainly is not random tagging, is it?

  • Damn straight, there's some good work about.

  • great vid & great site

  • im gona stick with your mum

HA how do you like THAT ! toy

and how the fuck would you no you dont right so fuck off

  • What does that even mean?

  • IV HAD ENOUGH OF FUCKING TOYS CALLING IT STREET ART

its a falm of art yes.

but its not strictly streets so

    DONT CALL IT STREET ART

  • You know what? When 99% of people involved call it street art, I think I'll stick with street art.

  • yeah he's my favourite graffer as well but vosko is the best bomber but reka is purely artistic...angry aussie do you write coz its good to see a non-graffer taking interest in graffiti

  • Yeah, I have a blog. There's just so much good graf around I wanted to show it off.

  • Cool! I'm glad you captured some of Mr Reka's work.

He's fukn great! My fave melbourne graf artist.

  • I don't actually know who the artists are - but I know what I like :)

  • See my vid for more examples

  • Arrrrrrrrgh its BUSH!!!! (At 1:10) RUN AWAY :(

  • It's actually John Howard, GWB's best mate. Even worse.

  • awesome.

  • Thankyou AngryAussie

    Support Melbourne Graffiti!

  • I'll always support the good stuff!

  • awesome cant wait

  • should be appearing in about 2 more days

  • good stuff

  • More to come!

  • damn that was some ill groovy shit

  • More coming this weekend :) This was only a small sample and as it was so popular I'm shooting some more.

  • I don't like how graffiti is so derided for being vandalism. When it's of this quality it can do so much to liven up what would otherwise be just a drab wall.

  • Yeah, the knee-jerk reaction against all graffiti doesn't make sense to me.

  • thats stuff is really nice!

  • Yeah, I'll probably do some more exploring this weekend and show some more.

  • wow, very creative and colourful. The only street art we get around here is extremely bad tags which have been sprayed on the most stupid places as fast as possible before the police go "OI!" =p

  • Yeah, tagging pretty much sucks. I love this stuff though.

  • Awsome TY

  • No prob. I thought this would be popular - I'll do a longer one with more art this weekend.

  • wow.. it's amazing how beautiful these artist's works are : )

    -Cory "Mr. Safety"

  • That's why I wanted to share them :) This is a tiny sample of what's about, just in my neighbourhood.

  • dude, I love your talking mixed in with your song!!! you did that so well and it fit!!!

  • That was actually accidental! But when it happened I liked it too so I left it.

  • it's brilliant! I had to listen to it again :)

  • Well, I might try it again with more audio.

  • cool stuff, i swear one wall had one of the people from gorillaz on it... anyway we got banksy here in london :P

  • Oh yeah, one of them was definitely knocking off gorillaz.

  • Cool

  • Glad you liked it.

  • Thanks for the tour. You should post this as a music video as well... I really like your "theme song".

  • The whole theme's about 4& 1/2 minutes, maybe I should do one that long.

  • Honestly, I think that would be cool (and I could hear the whole thing). It would be a nice plug for the author/musician to boot (assuming it was gratis).

  • Yeah, he's such a cool guy. I just mentuioned using some of his music and bang! he custom-made a theme for me.

  • ... at least better than grey walls ^^

  • Yeah, I can't understand people who'd rather have bare walls.

  • Interesting, we have some train cars with stuff like that on them.

  • Yeah, you get it on trains here sometimes too.

  • That was cool! Love the music, did you do it?

  • That's the angry aussie theme done by nsgmusic (you can find him here on YT under that user name)

  • That´s what i call art.

  • Me too!

  • That stuff sure looked far better than the gang graffiti we have around here. Some of the stuff in this vid was great looking!

    Nice vid.

  • Yeah, I'm not a big fan of tagging but I like art.

  • fantastic, thanks for sharing.

  • Glad you liked it.

  • if u want good spots to film in melb city, i can give u a clue ;) PM me

  • Or, shoot your own and post a response :)

  • some people have time (As if I don't :P)

  • Many many hours practice required to get this good.

  • Street art is suprisingly very well done...It never ceases to amaze me...

  • That's why I wanted to show some of it off.

  • Melbourne! :D

  • Yeah!
