@Megadethrayer I 100% disagree both have a huge knowledge of the guitar, I find Loomis executes his parts much better where as Chris Broderick is like a really good math student de-cyphering an equation, plus Loomis is a lot cleaner especially in sweeping, Both are huge influences on me but I think Jeff is better in my opinion but Chris is better at tapping, plus they are Loomis' songs he is the lead guitar player for Nevermore Broderick was the touring guitarist

@MartyFriedmanRulez66 I'd have to say from looking at this video your points are valid, however if you see Chris Broderick preform live currently, his parts are so perfectly and cleanly executed that there is no criticism to be made. For me Chris is better than Jeff, but I love both their playing styles. Jeff really has that more straight forward metal type of playing, which is insane, but Chris gets his style from so many different types of inspiration; he's my idol.

@theargentinita he was invited to right before chris joined but he couldnt because of his solo work so he couldnt commit it sucks because he auditioned when he was 16 but mustaine didnt hire him for one reason he was to young, that sucks, but at least hes one of the greatist guitarsits alive

If Jeff were to start a new band seeing as he left Nevermore, I really hope its either with Chris Broderick or Keith Merrow... or hell, I know 3 guitarists is a bit much, but all three of them are amazing.
It's really scary to think that Jeff Loomis plays with the accuracy and intensity every time he's doing a Nevermore gig and that this isn't some "special night" where he just happened to nail the songs.
nevermore is no longer together they split up and broderick is fine in megadeth i love both bands i think jeff loomis is the best guitarist alive. my fav is kirk hammett but jeff blows him out of the water........ and i never say bad things about metallica.
@urdumbfoo Friedman was a big influence for Jeff in cacophony and that is a technique hes known for. I think guthrie govan said "if you steal from one person its stealing, if you steal an idea from a lot of people its research."

Ok, I love both of them; but Chris engages the audience a bit more than Jeff (and tbh even Warrel to an extent) does. I loved Nevermore with Broderick in the band.
This is why Loomis and Broderick need to start a new band together. Broderick is capable of so much more than Megadeth, Loomis' songwriting is his key to that. And just imagine an album if the two of the battling it out. It'd be like the musical equivalent of the Expendables
@sm0kenmirrhurz92 you make a good point it would be epic. But i dont think that Chris' talents are wasted in megadeth, hes allowed to solo as complicated as he likes, and bring in more fans. Tbh this next album is likely to be megadeths last (Daves neck problems plus their roadrunner contract expires), so who knows he could do an album with Jeff in the not so distant future
@sm0kenmirrhurz92 So much more than Megadeth? I don't think so. Megadeth's riffs and songs are still better overall and I am sure that Chris has had plenty of work cut out for him getting down Marty's solos. There is a lot more Chris can do with Mustaine that may still happen.

nevermore is no longer together they split up and broderick is fine in megadeth i love both bands i think jeff loomis is the best guitarist alive. my fav is kirk hammett but jeff blows him out of the water........ and i never say bad things about metallica.

This is why Loomis and Broderick need to start a new band together. Broderick is capable of so much more than Megadeth, Loomis' songwriting is his key to that. And just imagine an album if the two of the battling it out. It'd be like the musical equivalent of the Expendables

@sm0kenmirrhurz92 you make a good point it would be epic. But i dont think that Chris' talents are wasted in megadeth, hes allowed to solo as complicated as he likes, and bring in more fans. Tbh this next album is likely to be megadeths last (Daves neck problems plus their roadrunner contract expires), so who knows he could do an album with Jeff in the not so distant future
