This band, more than any other that comes to mind, was 'lost' and forgotten after producing at least 2 brilliant records. Whoever posted this deserves 73 virgins.
We've collected Divine Horsemen's Chris D.'s lyrics, poetry, stories, autobiographical notes and more in A MINUTE TO PRAY, A SECOND TO DIE. Preface by Byron Coley, Foreword by John Doe, Afterword by Lydia Lunch. Order the book via Amazon or New Texture dot com.
I had a cassette with this on it, I think the title of the cassette was "Middle of the Night". It had about 7 other songs on it, including "Hey, Little Sister", and a cover of the Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter". On the cover was Chris D and Julie Christianson laying across the hood of a mid-60s car. It was great, I sure hope someone does release all of their material on CD.
ssT is very picky (finacially) about what they keep in print. On the other hand, it is nice to see these albums for $100 on eBay! BUT-- Check the label called "Atavistic." They may be re-releasing a lot of Divine Horsemen and The Flesheaters. In the meantime, take care of your "Devil's River" on vinyl!! (I can tell by the sound) SWEET!!
I have to admit, I had forgotten how great Divine Horsemen are. I was an "ssT head" here in Miami, Florida, and there were so many albums coming out then. I was distracted. If all ssT had released was this band, they would have become an all-time favorite for me-- as they are now!
ah geez, I know everyone of these guys! R Jameson, bassist… Robyn is now living in San Antonio TX, next door to me. He's producing now.
