Actually, Miki (the blond one) is 14 and Makoto (short black hair) is 16. A lot of the other characters are lower than the usual US age of consent too. Depending on where you are those ages could still be legal though. Some people seem to fail to realize this is coming from a different culture (or just believe their values are superior). The age of consent in Japan can be as low as 13, mind you.
