So how does this end, does it actually model the atmosphere and the agregation states of chemicals? I saw a US simulation video where the guy sent a star flying through the inner solar system, causing the earth to be slinged away, he sped it up to about 1.3 years a second. however when he zoomed in on Earth at the end it looked like earth normally does, greens on the land, blue oceans, white clouds. It should definately have become an iceball, so I guess climate modelling is a bit off...

@Mossman1223 technically your wrong, there is oxygen just not a lot of it. around 0.50% of oxygen in mars's atmosphere i think.

Yeah, I guess you're right there, but .5% of oxygen at the very low surface pressure of mars I don't think is enough to sustain any sort of combustion reaction/thermobaric whathaveyou

Guess whoever developed your program left out a MAJOR POINT--Mars is dead "geologically speaking--core soild---Mars has no Geomag. Field & as such any "proto-atmosphere" would be ripped way by the Sun's Solar Winds and her CMJs).

You targeted the wrong spot ;) You should have nuked the poles as there are polar caps containg dry ice + water ice. BTW: Heating the atmosphere is not accomplished by using the heat from the bombs, but greenhouse effect caused by released vapours and gasses.

An antimatter bomb would be still better ;)

Or bombardment for 10 years with CFC gasses ;)
