When Out of Time came out in the early '90's it totally changed my music taste forever to alternative rock.It made me realize how silly the music of the '80's was.REM along with Nirvana and Pearl Jam showed me artists can put out music that can be intelligent and mainstream.Love REM and Out Of Time.
Sounds even more like The Moody Blues than "Journey to the Center of your Mind." (If you don't know that one, listen to it, and be surprised who did it.)
Michka Assayas affirmed in the encyclopedy of rock that Out Of Time (1991) was an album deprived of intensity! How wrong he was when you listen to this powerful song!

ti chiedo perdono per come sono portami via di qua
la strada corre veloce riflessa nei tuoi occhi la luce che ti piace tinge di rosso

@tompaul1972 the problem happened when bill berry left the band. that changed their style forever. i mean, i still love them, but i consider a different band without bill berry. he was an awesome drummer, and a nice singer too. they lost a lot of their magic because of that.
@josiasarnaldo I totally agree with you hear. Bill Berry was the core to the band and eventhough they still remained great once he left it was just not the same.....nice singer ? what did he sing ?
good question. his bio says that he could sing but i've followed this band since the beginning and to my knowledge, mike mills, the bass player, was the only other vocalist of any significance, i don't recall once seeing berry sing live? that doesn't mean he wasn't fantastic..and the core of the band.
@jimmyplanet nono, berry often sang. although not in such a position as mike. also, sometimes peter would sing, but these a rare situations... and, also, the other members of the band (changing in time) sang sometimes even pretty "clear". i would look for examples, the last mentioned you can see on the unplugged performances in 2001 i think... others, you should just watch live videos and sometimes you can see berry singing....

I love that bass!

dreary existential lyrics to a countrypopish tune. Only REM could pull it off with flying hues.

not a big fan. don't own a single album from this band, but from the songs i've heard this is my favorit song.
