  • best song on the movie, i love basically any type of music ranging from the beatles to hardcore death metal rap, rock, and some soul, but its always nice to come and listen to smooth music i love this tye of music

  • I'd hate coming home expecting to find your family safe and sound then seeing them dead. It would break my heart and so did this scene :'(

  • Gladiator 2: Juba's Journeys!

  • This song also played on 9/11: The Filmmakers Commeomorative Edition.

  • Cultissime Theme !

  • He died..

  • NO NO... :'( this part made me cry :'( but it's very beautiful :'(

  • there should be a gladiator 2, that would mean another awesome soundtrack! they never actually say maximus died so he could be in the second one, like how in black swan they never actually sat natalie portman died, she just blacks out! :)

  • @ItsEmmalicious how did he not die?

  • @JumpFirstLookLater1 well he just closed his eyes, he could be unconcius & having halucinations instead of being dead! :) ( sorry about the spelling!)

  • @ItsEmmalicious he's very dead, and a sequel would not just bad bad but it would ruin the original

  • @Buck88Bla Having the capacity to cry at something sad makes you human. You don't need to preface an emotional confession with 'no homo'.

    Anyway, amazing movie! :)

  • @ecctopcd Well said

  • reminds me of the passion of the christ wich is another movie that made me cry

  • This is Armenian song.

  • @arnako2 no, this is sicilian music

  • so emotional mad me so sad it touches your emotions so deeply so sad when he dies made me cry so much

  • No homo... but shit brings tears to my eyes like a fucking onion. Every time I watch it. Every. Single. Time.

  • yeah, I haven't seen this in a few years--but I know I cried like a water fall from about the middle on (I'm also a girl FYI)

  • no it dont sounds like pakistan or arabic. it sounds like more old roman greek ancient latin not arabic

  • i dont know but i really like this. this music sound like you are closer to the ancient time roman or ancient greece and passion of christ jesus. god bless this lady who can sing like that . this is a real ancient time music

  • Interesting song with influence of the anscient music from Hispania (roman province, actually, Portugal and Spain)...

And the movie, with Russel Crowe, is many amazing. Not is a north american movie, but european, from England.

  • damn it! all the best music are just not long enough...this movie really touched me, so tragic

  • wow... just amazing indeed.

  • Just amazing

  • The movie was just Amazing along with the music

  • This is a such a sad part when he finds out his wife and son were muredered and crucified.

  • ,this song,it weakens me like no other.

  • Amazing track but too short.

  • its funny that how just a human voice can effect to your feelings just like that..

  • @FinScythe You gotta really be in the moment to sing like that. : )

  • Hans Zimmer is GOD

  • movie = pro.

  • the voice of the women touched my soul.... dirges always make me cry...

  • ..... :'( sad part isn't it ?

  • I have to see the movie now that I've heard the soundtrack. :'D I don't care if it makes me cry, I enjoy epic/sad movies :P

  • the vocals in this always send a shiver down my spine, powerful stuff

  • Whats the song of the part when he actually dies?

  • nothing makes me more depressed..beautiful!

  • Fantastica

  • the songs are just mind blowing

    and so is the movie

    <3

  • hans zimmer lives in youre mind?

  • we did a drama peice to this... amazing sountrack!!!!

  • hanz zimmer one of the best composers ever to live in my mind

  • i got goosebumps from this song

  • omg the saddest song on earth!! i was looking for it for so long!! just listening to it makes me wanna cry =(

  • saddest part: when maximus arrives home to find his family burnt...he weeps and crys at his wife's feet....i sobbed like a baby

  • Yeah, that part was pretty sad...I came close to crying, but the only time I actually did cry was at the very end, when he starts hallucinating about returning home to his family as he's dying, and then once he actually is dead, and everyone's carrying his body out of the Colosseum. The mark of a great movie is when you watch it over and over and it makes you cry each and every time, lol.

  • that part is where i cryed too:)

  • @BittersweetRemix

One of the very (I mean very) few films that touched me. It really is a great film, and Ridley Scott is always good at doing that.

  • @BittersweetRemix i dont think he was hallucinatin i think it was his spirit going home with his family

  • @bleujae1 That could be the case, too. Depends on what you believe, I suppose. I've always thought that if an afterlife exists, your soul goes to that place after you're dead, not while you're dying, hence why I said hallucinating...But you could be right too. Won't know till we're dying/dead, right? =]

  • @BittersweetRemix haha ya nobody knows until it actually hapens wichh i kinda wanna find out how it happens but i dont wanna die haha

  • @BittersweetRemix, well it depends what you are crying about.. you could be crying that you wasted your time on the movie, lol.

  • @lapuriter Lol, or that, but I liked the movie too much to cry over having thought it was terrible. It was too epic for those kind of thoughts, lol. Now, I could probably name at least one movie that I had something like that reaction after watching it, but I got more POed than anything. The Fountain is one of them--I nearly did cry after having wasted my time watching what seemed like a nonsensical film....And I still don't get it. The only plus was that it was beautifully made.

  • @BittersweetRemix thats the part that made me sob!

this movie is the most touching movie i've ever seen

  • @BittersweetRemix

he was not hallucinating my friend, he was going to heaven, going to the afterlife...

  • @BittersweetRemix That's track 15, not this one.

  • @661Sunshine I know, lol, but this is still a great song, and still sad. ^^

  • @BittersweetRemix

Commodous was buried like a petty thief/slave and Maximus was buried like an emperor...

    it is a touching moment...

  • @BittersweetRemix this spoiled the movie for me... sigh.

  • @AZNboi10921 Oops..? Sorry. But still, you should know better than to read comments about movies and their soundtracks that you haven't seen yet, but were intending to, especially if you didn't want spoilers. XD

  • @BittersweetRemix ehh. true...

but i was thinking that people would just comment on this of how good this song is but i guess not. :\

    my mistake

  • @BittersweetRemix agreed.

  • @BittersweetRemix

wait WHAT? HALLUCINATING? he was entering the gate's of heaven dude !

  • @PulseOfTheAwakening The Roman version of Elysium, more like. Some might call it heaven, but being agnostic, I'd call it hallucinating. But to each their own. =3 Either way, it's still a beautifully bittersweet scene.

  • @BittersweetRemix

just one of the best movie's ever made, i really love it

  • that is what a powerful idiot can do to you..when he wants to achieve something;-j

  • kay, i'll watch this movie tonight

  • Splendid!

  • What an incredible voice

  • hans zimmer was indeed an important factor in the making of this masterpiece...

  • Isnt this also the song called The Wheat?

  • ...when it ran in cinemas I saw it 12 times...cried and felt ready for war and heroism in my own life afterwards...

  • Nice music

  • Shame there is no footage of this remarkable piece of music performed live by Lisa Gerrard

  • could you call this Egyptian music? :S

  • hmm I'd say it was more Middle Eastern of influence. I'm not sure tho, could have some African inspiration, but its definately brilliant.

    Egyptian's great tho

  • it sounds indian. indeed.

  • no its not indian...

  • That comments a year old. Ok then. what is it. Since its so important you had to rise my comment from the grave!

  • lol.. i have no idea...

i can not understand a single word of it( i am from india) it could be african or Egyptian or lebanon...

my favourt song... i feel so content when i hear tracks from this movie...

  • @prabhu585 ... Egyptians and Lebanese speak Arabic................... as do most people from the Middle East and Northern Africa........
