Well, Jecht's not all THAT stupid. In a cutscene, not sure which, he talked about how you have to let things go so that they can become stronger on their own. Or something along those lines.

I'm guessing that's why he acted the way he did to Tidus.

@FelixFalora What are you talking abouf? Being cold is better than being hot cause you can defend against it better. You can add layers and layers when it's cold, but when it's hot it's not like you can take off your skin.
