i work at a landscape company and own my own small one. i use stihl at my day job and shindawia and redmax for my company.
stihl= hard to start, slow to rev, ok power, heavy
shindaiwa and redmax- easy start , light weight, killer power.
i own a eb4300 redmax and use a br420 mag stihl at day job- the redmax kills the stihl ( best shinny match would be eb630) and starts wayy easier than any stihl new or used.
At first, i am german too, but I do my nest to wrote in english:
I do landscaping work as second job after my daytime job. I work together with a good friend of mine. He is a Stihl fanatic, nothing more to say. I am using Husky products. Some examples: BR600/180BT , MS441/576XP, FS550/355Fx. We are working side by side so i can see the (nearly none existent) differences. The only major thing I recognise is: We both are satisfied with our products and have fun. And thats important! Period. Chris
I just bought a Shindaiwa T222 trimmer. My brother has a lawncare business and swears by Shindaiwa. How long a life span do these trimmers usually have?
We sell Shindaiwa and we USE Shindaiwa. They are simply the most reliable ,the best power to weight ratio and the best constructed tools which we have used.. We have during 30 years of work used Stihl,Husqvarna etc. Nothing has compared to Shindaiwa ( i know the stihl users will jump up and down -but they have most likely never used Shindaiwa!!) We have strimmers which are used for long periods daily which are 4 years old and stihl in full use. we supply spares for some machines 10 years old!
i have, im 15 and work with my cousin, he is a self employed landscaper, he bought used and sold his 10 shindaiwas, 5 saws, 5 strimmers, i cant use the saws, my dad didnt like them and i hated the strimmers, we went back to echo, stihl, jonsered and husqvarna
Well if you are 15 then i believe that under health and safety regulations you should not be using powered tools!
The mixture of machines mentioned would suggest that people had no clear idea of what to use.
We use the Shindaiwa T260 for maintenance strimming. They are OLD but start first time all the time! They need minimum maintenance and are used for around 4-5 hours every day.
The Shindaiwa 269T is simply the best little saw I have ever used it is so versitile.
i know, i just wanted to see your reaction, i do however believe, that they are no better than any other make of outdoor power equipment out on the market here in the uk, i think what you buy should be based on personal preference and dealership location, i say go with whatever make has a dealer closest to you
wow this is abit late but ya said you use the machines for 4-5 hours everyday? is that nonstop or where you turn them on and then off give them a break for a lil bit and then again with the heavy work? also if you wanted lil than i believe echo is the best way to go. however if they are old and they start first time pull than you got me there!
I was using the echo sadly although they work quite well they are also heavy and cumbersome, I much prefer the Shindaiwa. Sadly Shindaiwa may not export the EB630 to the UK in 2009.We are still waiting info. We still rate Shindaiwa as one of the best products available.
OK, I am a big fan of Shindaiwa products. I have a chainsaw, blower, and weed wacker. However, I'd be pretty ticked if I saw someone blowing debris all over my BMW like that. My 2cents...
The BMW and a lot of the other cars are not supposed to be parked there so no worries there!! Howver the leaves are dry and will not harm the cars although they may get a bit dusty. It's Hobsons Choice really: the residents can wade through tons of leaves which become a total mess when wet-or we clear the site!! This site accumulates TONS of leaves which blow in from multiple adjacent trees on other sites. I estimate 7-8 tons per anuum.
We sell stihl,Kawasaki,Mitox,Echo and Husqvarna. We are also contractors for 28 years.
We have no axe to grind with respect to any brand BUT I can say categorically from daily practical experience that the Shindaiwa EB630 is the best general purpose blower we have ever used. The EB8510 is more powerful but heavier. The Br380 Stihl is light but lacks the power of the EB630 and all Stihls can be a fiddle to start. The Shindaiwa starts first go-every time. Our Blowers are in daily hard use.
i know what you mean by when youi say stihls are a fiddle to start the ones that are in my grounds maintence class are a pain in the ass to start they dont even have a primer on them they just have a choke
I've never heard of Shindaiwa... I have a Homelite "mighty lite" backpack blower. Cranks out rougly 180-185 mph. Works great. Obviously those are 201 mph. However, homelite blowers work quite well.
i used to own a husky 145bt and a ech pb400e. the husky was good but the echco had carb problems, so i bought a new carb and it ran fine, about 2 years later i sold my echo and once i sold it, it carb problems again. so im not buying anymore from echo, althoug i do have a pb210 from echo...best hand held blower ever made. for now on its redmax or shindaiwa
We found carb problems with Echo. But realively simple to repair. We find that after about 18 months the grommet in the fuel tank plus tubes become brittle and need replacing because the air is now entering where it should not.We also change the carb diaphram etc. That usually sorts the problems.
If you used a Shindaiwa you would never touch an. We Have Stihl Br380's an Echo PB-755 and Shindaiwa's so we can compare properly.
We find that Echo's start going out of tune at about 15-18 months. The main reason is that the tubes into the fuel tank + the grommit become brittle and let in air.if that happens simply change these items to restore tank pressure. We always change the carb kits as well. The vibration levels on the Shindaiwa are also lower.regards brian
ya, I've never used shindaiwas but I'm sure they're great pieces of equipment. I have had no problems at all with any of my echo trimmers, blowers, and hedgers. Very reliable. The pb 755 does tend to pull your arm away, though, other than that, I have no complaints. Everyone I know swears by Echo. How are the Stihl blowers?
I have an echo, and it is 8 years old, and it goes like new! All you need to do is to get them serviced at the mower shop once a year, we do that with our STIHL's, and we find STIHL the best. The mower shop didn't recommend Shindaiwa.
Shindaiwa strimmers are brilliant the power to weight ratio is great and reliability impeccable-i sell the whole range of strimmers. The echo blower has too much vibration and is too awkward, most Echos develope fuel tank/carburettor problems after about 15 months-you have to do a complete carb service and also change the fuel tank grommit and fuel pipes-at least that is our experience with echo strimmers and hedgecutters
yes two blowers are eb630's one is an echo pb-750. If you look carefully you will note that only one operator is using the blower to full effect and he could infact have cleared the whole site on his own just as quickly. The chap in red is me-slow and cumbersome with Sciatica!. The eb630 out performs all blowers except the EB8510rt. You will note that moving the tube from side to side increases the clearing efficiency of the blower. These machines are ultra reliable.
I used to work with both Shindaiwa and Stihl blowers AND trimmers. Shindaiwas kick ass on both, specially the blowers are much more powerful.

Explain to me why you think any of this is good?
Can't you see the dust and crap getting blown up. What about the noise crap and crude.
This is just plain stupid.

looking into a shindaiwa trimmer, with the cultivator attachment, for my home garden. $575 total seems like alot. how good are these trimmers?
thatbastardson 1 year ago
Strimmers are excellent.
in my opinion the cultivator attachment is a waste of time on ANY machine,Stihl etc etc.. A Mantis is the best option for a lightweight tiller.
The cultivator attachment is only of any use in very soft already cultivated soil.trying to dig firm ground is pointless. hope that helps.brian

Yes we retail and contract.28 years contracting, 10 year also retailing.
We FIELD TEST most makes which we think are OK . Unfortunately some top names do not always fair well.
Like Still.
Stihl machines can be a pain to start, articulating hedgecutters drive cogs give out,and pole hedgecutters are too heavy

We sell Stihl Shindaiwa Echo Husqvarna etc etc
We are also contractors. My workers have a choice of Stihl Shindaiwa or an Echo blower
They will fight (almost) to get the choice of the Shindaiwa. The Shindaiwa EB630 fits the bill alround, power, comfort ,easy to use!
