  • why would you compare it to the suzuki?

  • Looks like the Suzuki who!?!

  • Watch out, Jeremy Clarkson...

  • shitty car.

  • class leading trunk, leg room and class leading looks too vw for life

  • crysler 200

  • want US-Jetta in germany -.-

  • @xxxxxxxxxxxxzxx the 1.4 tsi twin turbo is much better and fuel economic then the USA model 160bhp out of 1.4 litres not bad :)

  • Good, fair, and concise, but from 2:25 - 2:34, it looks like Drivin' Ivan started filing at 4:21, if you know what I'm sayin.

  • Did you just read the script an hour before is that how you really act?

  • Have you ever heard about microphones and video audio editing?

  • lol I thought that he was narrating the gear he was in when he was counting

  • I like.

  • US Jetta sucks the European one is way better

  • @a6km it´s the same thing...it looks really bad inside

  • @sequentialgear no it is not it just looks the same but engines, interior materials, rear axle etc are completely different for European version

  • Front seat can be adjusted for height - LOL!

  • horrible....

  • I want the 13888 09 Jetta

  • You are horrible....learn how to speak like a normal person and not like a fucking retard.

  • They might feel like leather........but your ass is going to sweat buckets. Nothing beats leather for look and feel.

  • interior looks like shit

  • What's the deal with the "Check out the Chevy Cruze" pop-up. Has Youtube sold out? Not classy at all folks....

  • What's the deal with the "Check out the Chevy Cruise" pop-up. Has Youtube sold out? Not classy at all folks....

  • For my Kia Forte is better, but Jetta is offered with a diesel engines.

  • thanks for the commercial...

  • HAAAAAAAA HAAA HAAAAAA WHAT A REE-REEE.. LEARN HOW TO MAKE A VIDEO DUMASS!!! HAAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAA HA

  • great design (just as the previous model), but the interior is terribly outdated

  • Since when does a manual vs. automatic affect the overall WHP of the vehicle? If anything, the modern day auto's are faster to 60 miles an hour....

  • @Firegod1234 The slushbox sucks a little power out of the driveline. That's why people say the autos have a little less power. Also, the slushbox will get slightly worse MPG.

  • 5 speed. DUMB!!!

  • lastima que es pura apariencia, y no trae el mismo equipo qe el bora , por el cual fue el reemplazo de este. :( prefiero un bora 2010 que un jetta 2010

  • I still don't like this model and it's very sad see how VW took a lot of things from the MK5, this one the MK6 doesn't have exhaust pipes, courtesy lights, big dashboard (like the MKV in red 05-08 or in white with the cars diagram 09-10), ASR control, rear independent suspension. And even the Sport or the incoming GLI are poorly equipped.

  • Jetta 2011 é maravilhoso parabéns pelo vídeo ficou bem promocional.

  • Wow..... This was one pitiful review.

  • Is it made in Mexcio?

  • @scvs2 yes it is, but man it was designed in Germany where the Euro version has nothing to do with the American version.

  • @3:06, VW's official 0 to 60 time with the 2.5 is 8.2 seconds. No way you are getting 7 second from a 2.5. It would have been nice if you had used the stopwatch on your phone.

  • The old Jetta was a girl's car....almost every single one of them on the road is owned and/or driven by a girl. This new one should make guys more interested because it no longer looks feminine like the old one .

  • This is such a down grade

  • jetta 2009 the best

  • i like quality sound

  • it was more like 9something seconds not 7

  • Looks fun on those curvy roads!

  • Great car

    thanks VW

  • fuck the sound !

  • A step backward for VW Jetta :/, the Euro refinement of this car is what ditinguishes this car, the solid no rattle body, nice interior, soft touch....

  • моя мечта......................

  • Why didn't he mention the clean diesel?

  • 0:34 well duhhh vw owns audi so theyre gonna toss some of the same looks around

  • I enjoyed the scenery as well as the review!

  • looks like sh*#!!! old one is way better

  • I test drove the base 2011 Jetta, and it's crap. My 2001 MKIV Jetta is more fun to drive than the base 2011 Jetta S. Most people will end up paying for the SE or SEL. And the interior materials on my MKIV Jetta are better than that in the new 2011. I honestly didn't see the value of the VW's cost cutting. Only trouble with my MKIV is that it's a wallet drainer.

  • @osiyal they cost cut merely to increase sales. VW announced they want to increase North American sales (overall) by selling (not only producing) an additional 800,000 vehicles. If you want a nice interior and the like, get the Audi A4 or A3.

  • the old jetta was really lame and ugly.. boring car

  • VW of america is fucking up again, they are bringing the cheapest stuff to USA instead of bringing a real car.

  • I actually just bought this car, a couple things, the automatic comes with a tiptronic transmission as well as a "sport" overdrive gear which in my opinion comes damn close to matching the Manual in terms of punch. The interior feels very similar to something more upscale like a Passat, and really the hard plastics do not make that big of a difference. The exterior looks better in black in my opinion. Most negative comments will be just people who are looking to criticize, its still a good car.

  • @TheBladeSephara as a side note, the thing handles really well, it still does feel german, even though it is more americanized now.

  • @TheBladeSephara What color is the LED lights on the dashboard?

  • @TheBladeSephara compare it to a 2006-2010 model and you will see what we are complaining about

  • Interior looks really bad. I like the simplicity of german interiors and their build quality but this doesn't look very well made IMO. Looks like they really cheapend it up. Engine sounds pretty bad too.

  • @flatblackstrat I think because he has the sport package... I think... Not sure...

  • stop talking to us like were babies

  • @RayzaBlayz deep down inside, most people are.

  • what a fucking boring review

  • I know this might be a small thing but the sign on the power button for the radio seems to be off centered a bit

  • great video

  • piece of shit get a cruze!!

  • @vonmilkhaven2 a cruze wont last that long

  • @vonmilkhaven2 2012 Ford Focus also

  • lol.. measuring a 0-60 time by verbally counting.

    nice review nonetheless

  • Good review, great presentation! Thank you for sharing all those info's!

  • this thing looks like the 2009's kia optima from the rear and it looks like something that was designed a few years ago

  • Is it foam on trunk side walls interior, only carpet on center floor?

  • @87490111 Unless you plan to cart live bodies around in the trunk, don't worry about it. Carpet isn't really carpet anymore, it's all synthetic hard to clean BS. Besides, if you want to talk cheap, my new at the time Pontiac G6 GT is a good daily driver but I've had a ton of problems with it, mostly minor grips. One of which is that there is no lining on the trunk lid. I taped some felt on just so it wouldn't rub luggage, and the lid closed because of the weight of the felt which was paper thin!

  • Resembles a Suzuki?!?! That's such a dis. And in my opinion, the shape of the body seems like it resembles the last Jetta. Overall though, nice review :-)

  • Nice exterior , good interior. But I can't stand those cheap no use buttons by the start button. Those can go anytime.

The instrumentation is cheap looking , I don't see a temp , oil or volt gauge !! This car goes at a base price of $16,000 Cnd. With that wimpy under powered 115 hp 2 liter!!! You gotta be kindin ' me !!! If you want the 2.5 it's $21,000 . I'm glad at least with the front end treatment , it doesn't have a great big grill like the 2010 Mazda 3 or some of the Audi's .

  • @Jim4575 On the German VW website, the pictures of the dashboard do show the temperature and fuel level guages. Maybe they aren't included in the base (USA) model ...

By the way, you don't really that much BHP on a mid-size sedan, do you? The VW 1.6 liter TDI 105 BHP (euro spec) has a top speed of 190 KM/H, which is far beyond the legal speed limit of most countries, Germany excluded ;-)

  • @joetioeb TheVW Diesel up here is one of the best and it has for 2011 2.0 ltr. 140 hp with 236 lbs -ft torque now thats gives you a slow launch but you'll be movin' in plenty of time. That's where diesels are superior to the gas engine & there clean running. They just haven't caught on here ( Canada ) as there aren't a lot of diesel and gas stations up here.

I checked the 2011 Jetta & it doesn't have a temp gauge just an outside temp gauge. German version has a temp gauge ! DOH! WHY???

  • @Jim4575 Last I checked well over 50% of Jetta's sold here in Canada are in fact diesels. It's the US, where diesel sales haven't quite caught on outside of HD truck buyers..

  • @RT360ci Sounds encouraging.I know someone who owned one and they were very happy with it. Yeah the U.S seem to like there big trucks. HD of course. Great for towing.

  • @Jim4575 It's just a shame that manufacturers are forced to meet super high diesel emission regulations. Either with expensive after treatment exhaust systems, urea injection, or both. This increases cost substantially where a ten year vehicle ownership at 15K miles a year, it's more cost effective to get the smaller gas engine in the case of the new Jetta than to spend the extra $6-8K here in Canada for the TDI, only to save 15-20% on fuel. Not to mention petrol and diesel are similar in cost.

  • @RT360ci Your quite right. The TDI does come at an increased cost. Some are willing to forgo the expense and try it . You'd think will are dollar at par with the US the price of the car would go down .

  • @Jim4575 That's the odd thing. The starting price for the base bare bones Jetta is nearly on par. Just under $16K in both Canada and the US. I don't get it, but I can't complain. The TDI models are a bit over the top. For a top of the line diesel before options runs close to $28K before tax here in Canada. For $2K less you can go down a trim level but if you're already at $26K, what's another $2K. I think the problem lies in the fact that there's no 'base' diesel Jetta, only mid trim and high.

  • @RT360ci Yes It starts at $15,875 here in Ontario. $23,875 for the Comfort TDI . The price I quoted was the Highline TDI $26,655 so your $28k is close with the HST. Yes there's no base diesel and that is a shame. It would be a great way to get into the diesel for a reasonable price. I'm thinking $20k. The base car has the 2.0 115hp motor = gutless.

  • @Jim4575 I concur. The 2.0L gas is ten years past its retirement time! However, the Jetta price has rolled back, along with returning the infamous (read: gutless) 2.0L gas mill along with a torsion bar rear suspension that served me well on two older, early 90's Dodge Spirits!

  • @RT360ci Nothing wrong with torsion. A lot of people who have MK5 and MK4 get aftermarket rear sway bears to basically eliminate the independant suspension for better handling and less body roll.

  • @ThePantyDroper I never said anything was wrong with it. I loved my older Dodge cars, they performed as well as could be expected for a 100hp engine. Independent suspension I think is more maintenance in terms of alignments, etc. Basic works!

  • @RT360ci Oh I know, I was agreeing with you. I love the feel of a rear beam. You feel more connected to the road and sure footed. I find independent is comfortable but sloppy if that makes sense. It's a shame a lot of buyers won't consider the jetta because of the rear beam setup. I saw one of these rolling in person the other day, beautiful car. pictures/video do not do the car justice. At first glance I could of sworn it was an audi from the side/back angle. Much bigger than previous jettas

  • @ThePantyDroper The car will sell very well. Most buyers don't know how to change their own oil let alone know about suspension geometry. I'm sure that's what VW is thinking too. If the car feels tight on the test drive, that's all that will matter.

  • this jettas junk compared to the previous ones

  • I own a 2010 Wolfsburg edition. The reliability crack is funny since i have seen plenty of Hondas with their hoods up this summer in Wilmington. Most of the complaints I have read are from idiots who run their fuel tanks on empty and suck all the crap into the HPFS fuel pumps. Change your oil every 5K. Can't wait for the new TDI editions.

  • Drum brakes plus very bad quality interior not like the 2010 jetta or golf or any vw where u get good quality

  • @Gtaoutsider The 2011 just came out, quality issues have yet to be seen. So far, it looks OK, and I'm a Mopar guy. It's true. As a cheap second vehicle, it works. Besides, parts are everywhere for old tech vehicles!!!

  • Base Jetta comes with a 115hp engin HA HA HA, Base Civic comes with a 140hp engine. Jetta will always be more expensive than the Japanese, don't kid yourselves.

  • @Mr99Burns you get a great sense of refinement from a volkswagen that i dont think you can get from a honda or other japanese car at the same price.

  • @Mr99Burns North American Jetta's are made in Mexico, so they'll be reasonably priced for this new 5th iteration. I have to agree that going back to the boat anchor 2.0L mill was a bad choice for VW, however, designing and implementing a new base engine would increase the cost significantly to higher levels than comparable import and domestic compacts. Mexicans have produced many successful products with minimal recalls when compared to overseas shipped vehicles. Quality has gone up everywhere.

  • love the bootleg 0-60 time count lmao

  • I like it....nice car...love the sound of that 5 cylinder...nothing quite like it...nice "growl"...have to consider it when i trade my Accord...thanks for the review

  • Where's VW going with this cheapened crap!

  • oh man when they put the 2.0t in this thing it will be sweet!

  • i wish the instrument panel had a little more..... i dunno trim?

  • i passed trough there i drive on da 101 everyday

  • The base model may cost less than a civic but it also has 25 fewer horsepower, poorer fuel economy. The engine in the base model hasn't been revised since the early 90's. There's a reason the base model is significantly cheaper than the previous generation....

  • @will1977a

also the base model doesn't come with air con n radio. plus wuts with the front end. it looks so simple and not futuristic! it shows the cheapness. in this generation you at least expect a flippin projector headlights but apparently vw is too cheap for it.

  • It won't be a step forward for Volkswagen until they manage to prove that their cars no longer have the shoddy reliability that has become associated with them. I think most people would get the Civic over this (*gasp*!) despite the price bump because Honda has a sterling reputation for reliability and that will win out. Plus, an all new Civic is coming out next year...new Jetta, Cruze, Focus, Civic, and recently updated Mazda3 and Corolla makes this a very competitive segment...

  • @Windgrace

i agree except cruze n focus can suck my dick

  • @gooziddaiejoon I agree completely...hah

  • if u can would it be possible for u to road test the 2011 scion tc cuzz im stuck between the 2011 vw jetta 2011 scion tc and the 2010 kia forte koup it would be awesome if a road test was done for 2011 scion tc and love this road test! (i subscribed)

  • @machero23 dont go kia

  • Thanks for the review! Is the interior quality (materials) acceptable? This is the first review to not really mention it.

  • I found the interior comfortable and well designed. I had no complaints about the interior quality. I'll post my full review on my Examiner site soon. My videos are meant to be viewed after reading the full reviews to get the entire story...

  • @drivinivankatz hey u doin great, thanks so much fr this review,i love vw jetta!

  • @cabrioglx I watched another review, and they pointed out that VW don't use the soft touch materials on the dashboard from the previous Jetta. Nonetheless, you can see the layout is clean, smooth, and pleasing on the eyes (my opinion, anyway). And the base price of this version is cheaper than the previous version. So I guess you can take your pick on the trade-off you'd rather have.
