I like this video, but I'm have a hell of a time when 87 Yamaha just started it up today Jane.all the mission coils. But is doing the same thing as last year runs only with the choke wide open or partially closed. I did a compression check today. All cylinders are 95 PSI or 98 PSI in that range.
I bought it online three years ago have not been able to get it to run. Still, it will not idle for longer than a few minutes then it dies need your help in this matter. Thank you
HELLO BUY THE WAY I LOVE THIS MOTOR YOU HAVE ,,,,,,I DO NOT LIKE THE MOTOR I GOT ON LINE ,IT IS A 1987 YAMAHA PRO-V 150HP IT WILL STARTS RIGHT UP RUN BUT AFTER 10-15 MIUNETS, IT WILL STALL OUT BUT BEFOR IT STILLS IT WILL STAT TO MISS ,AND THEN STALL AND WILL NOT START UNTILL IT COOLS DOWN IS IT TIME TO CHANGE THE IGNTION COILS OUT,I HAVE THE MOTOR RUNING ON MY SITE IF YOU LIKE TO SEE IT RUN.I KEEP THE CABS CLEAN
tom manley had a brother named dexter who used to play for the redskins. those manleys were into everything and anything to do with sports. great workmanship too.
hello i have an evinrude 1969 4 hp lighttwin...it takes quite a few pulls to get it started...when i do get it going it wont run full throttle...does that have to do with setting the points on the motor? and do the points also have to do with the timing?
I used to love to get the old Johnsons & Evinrude working again... my hobby. I played mostly w/motors from the 50s. Purchased them for almost nothing. They were so easy to work on .. quite durable .. just real neat !!
@mufflerbearin, nope, it uses battery to power the coil to fire the spark plug, same way with hit and miss engine if the coil is no longer avalible for that old engine
and it still runs good i like this man a 17 y/o man likes this!! motors can get over 100 years old most of us people wont reach 90!! take care of this motor man don,t ruin it its a special motor!
If you don't like skateboarding don't travel to those sights. Oh and by the way if those kids were not GRINDING rails on their skateboards they would be doing things like robbing and stealing. so givem a break old man.
wow thats impressive. ill bet there is one advantage to the separate ignition source though. with a solid ignition system such as yours, no-doubt starting is achieved by a consistently good spark.

1337bman 1 year ago
@1337bman advancing the ignition timing for higher speed, retarding the ignition timing for lower speed

Yeah but most folks on "You Tube" put the propeller in a bucket of water. Thing is some motors aren't designed to run without a load! :(

Excellent. My Dad was a Johnson mechanic from the late '60's till about 68 or so. I still have his 48? Johnson 4.8? hp. Needs lower seal but it runs
Too bad there's not more videos like this and less of idiots hitting railings with skateboards!!
