I love how each actor that he does it to reacts in their own way... and I love that half the time when he does it, he seems to be not really thinking about it- professionnalism, I guess. I just love Spock, full stop.

arwenae: absolutely! I'd expect people to nerve-pinch differently just like they jaw-punch and pistol-whip and just plain faint differently. Somebody once said that it was a shame that Shatner, the biggest ham on the set, set the model for how to react to the pinch. Well....practically no one else followed it!

I mean, Anna, that when Kirk is pinched, he does what Shatner does best - he over-acts! Others seem to have more restrained and "natural" (?) reactions. They don't seem to want to do it the way Shatner did, but have their own interpretations.

(What is a "natural" reaction to a Vulcan nerve pinch? LOL)

Don't be so strict with good Shatner!He is an actor of great experience: nothing to do with the fools from screen now! Apparently Kirk reacts in his own way to the Vulcan pinch, but I find it amazing that the way chosen was that everybody was reacting in its own way to the pinch! I do not believe that exists only one or a "natural" reaction! It depends on how Spock pinches and how the other suffers! ^__^ super LOL

My mother showed me how to do it when I was in third grade and my using it knocked out someone that was picking on me with it. It worked for an 8-year-old B.U.D; it really will work if done correctly. Just don't use it for evil purposes. Touching the wrong nerve center could do permanent damage and could seal somebody's fate for him.

2:48 is the finest nerve pinch moment-TWO AT ONCE. But YOU MISSED ONE OF MY FAVORITES. In "Turnabout Whatsits" when he brings out Woman-Kirk, he really smoothly puts his arm around the redshirt [that alone should've tipped the dude off] then he get's 'em! :3

I also noticed that after the pinch, Spock either let's you down slowly or just drops you depending on how much he likes you. Kirk goes down slowly, baddies/redshirts just drop where ever.

This was highly entertaining. As always. :3

Actually one of the gentlest treatments he gave somebody was the "kid scene pinch" on the thug in "Piece of the Action." Guy's knees don't even buckle before Spock full-frontal embraces him and carries him inside. Kirk even pats the sleeping dude on the shoulder. Another thug goes down just as gently in that episode...Spock eases him onto the couch...

Now. Two of the three chicks he knocks out? BAM. Down they go. OUCH.

I thinks it depends on the way Spock makes the pinch, anyway, usually (not always) he is careful not to let them fall down badly!
