If you don't believe in God, for pity's sake, BE HONEST ABOUT IT. Many Christians are a lot more accepting of it than you might think, and many more Americans might be atheists or agnostics than you might realize.
Watching this video restores my faith in America. Perhaps there is still a few people who recognize that what you believe about God determines the heading for your judgment on every other issue. Three cheers for Americans of faith. Keep it up. Thanks for warning America that you are working hard to undermine our values SCFA. We've gotten the message. Look forward to meeting you on the battlefield of ideas.
I'd love to see the next pres. candidate answer this question with "That's none of your business, my religious belief or lack there of is my own private matter, period." (i.e. like it¨'s supposed to be)
That would be nice, but you know how it goes-if you seek public office, everything is their business. They yelp about our
Founding Fathers "Christian values"-Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and Madison were deists, openly denied that Christ was divine! Ironically they got away with this back then-now you can't win any office if you don't believe unless you're from San Francisco.
These people make me sick. We ARE a SECULAR NATION! These people can't see the danger in pushing their religious agenda on everyone. This is why in Europe people can't openly have any critique of Islam. Leave your personal beliefs at home people
This video scarred the shit outta me. As oprah would say, "This is a real EYE OPENER" haha. But I am not going to sit idly by and let this happen. It's my RIGHT to not believe in a god. And I certainly dont want to be forced to live MY life how religious people live theirs..
This is amazing. When it's put all together like that, it makes it clear that our Founding Fathers are not being honored. Many of them were NOT part of the Judeo-Christian tradition. Furthermore, if we're going to focus so much on appealing to Creationists and brainwashed fundamentalists, why not start appealing to fundamentalist Muslims and the Taliban? Where does this self-righteous political bigotry stop? It blows my mind that anyone would make religion central to politics
Americans seem to be living in a constant state of fear. Most of them need to believe in a fictional god who watches over them because it gives them some feeling of safety and comfort. I agree that believing in such nonsense is dangerous and frankly stupid; however, it seems there are deeper issues that need to be dealt with before a whole nation will come to rational sense.
Hope is all but lost for the average American today who will never think rationally and will forever live in fear. As far as I can see the only glimmer of hope would come from rational thinkers taking control of the American government and taking measures to one day remove the shroud of fear. It would surely take more than a couple of generations before any obvious changes would appear.
"The constitution established the USA as a Christian nation.."
WOW! John McCain has NO clue what the constitution says. The first amendment clearly states otherwise:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I believe by removing all references to God would establish Atheism as the state religion. True, church and state need to stay separate, but that doesn' mean our leaders cannot have or share their faith.
That's nonsense. Putting "There Is No God" on the dollar bill would be a state endorsement of atheism. Just having the dollar bill say nothing at all on the subject is called neutrality.
@frellthat "In God We Trust" does not belong on our money. You can call not putting it on there anything you want, but that doesn't make it anything.
Oh and while you are making up labels for people who aren't doing what you believe they should do, I'm going to label you as a "non-dier for your country" because you haven't died for your country yet.
@frellthat Atheism and neutrality. You say it as if you believe that anyone who doesn't subscribe to a religion is part of a formed group, or that people who don't respond/act to something are part of some formed group. I guess people who don't collect stamps are all non-stamp-collectors, and are therefore subject to generalizations based on other non-stamp-collectors?
I don't represent other atheists. I represent myself.
@frellthat I'm pretty sure I didn't. You stated very clearly that not putting a statement on the money is "neutrality". I don't know why you mention that putting "there is no God" on the money is a state endorsement of atheism because that goes without saying. I don't see atheists trying to force a lack of religious beliefs down other's throats, so why should a solitary group of fantasy-believers from one particular sect be permitted to force theirs upon the rest of us?
@TheReaverOfDarkness Um, I don't think they should be able to, being an atheist. Like I said, putting no statement at all on the money is not an endorsement of atheism, it is simple neutrality.
Amazingly, in the USA it is still politically correct to discriminate against people who do not worship any invisible gods. If a U.S. citizen can not believe in ancient fairy tales he or she is expected to remain silent. Those who openly admit their lack of belief are treated like second class citizens. This is not the case in most other 21st century democratic nations. This will be a horrible stain on the history of a great nation.
Thanks for the video, it brought back a lot of bad memories. Huckabee saying "it would be easier to change the Constitution than to change the word of the living god (Bible)" left me speechless.
As soon as you say "you know what I believe ..." you lose all rational basis for any point you make.

Why do these political people believe in magical stories from the bronze age? Religion is for the deluded.

So,
1. Deal with the problems we have,
2. Come to our rational senses?
I think you've got this backward. We have no hope of ever solving our problems if we do not even know how to think rationally.

You can't establish atheism as a state religion because it is not a religion.

If the government denies that God exists, it is entirely taking on the tenets of Atheism. In a way, it acts as a religion.

Well, thank nature that McCaine didn't become president. He clearly doesn't have any clue on if the most basic of Constitutional issues.
The Constitution made this country a Christian country? Don't make me laugh. Show me ONE part where a god or Christianity is ever mentioned.
It isn't. What is mentioned it the strict wall between church and state.
