No there's a Dotch Cooking Show and a New Dotch Cooking Show. I saw it on Wikipedia. It run from 2006 till 2007.
So this episode is from the new one.

Did they bring back the "Dotch Cooking Show" in Japan, or is this an old episode from before it was cancelled? I was wondering since the title at the beginning says "The NEW Dotch Cooking Show."

They brought it back for some kinda renewal, but it still got canceled later. I guess it depends on how new you mean. I think wikipedia has some stuff about it.

I just saw on HDTV channel 18.2 in L.A. that they're going to be bringing the show back starting April 6 on Monday nights at 9 pm. Yay!

You mean the repeats are being shown in LA now? That's cool. I'm talking about original Japanese productions, though. Unless you mean original Japanese productions...

Judging from the commercial, I don't think they're repeats. It looks like they're going to revive the show with new episodes. (But it may turn out that they are repeats, which would suck but still would be better than nothing).

Sometimes they try to sell things as new, just because they're new to that particular network. Let me check something...
It seems the Japanese wiki says it's been over for a while (from what I can understand) and if there's a new show, they haven't updated the link to the company's website, because the site just has a "this page no longer exists" site there.
Still, I hold out hope that they do it again :) Let me know what you learn when you do see the new shows.

You were right--they are repeats. Bummer, but still better than nothing and since I didn't see every episode there was it'll sorta be like watching new episodes now and then--Yaaay!
