Hah, she slipped and called Rick by Rob, which I didn't realize was his real name until now. Now when I hear "Robby Steiner" referenced, as I have many times, I'll know who it is.
@ladykiller85 The Steiners real last name is Rexsteiner, so we have Rick Steiner. Yes he is Rob Rexsteiner and Scott Rexsteiner. I noticed that too about the sister calling him Rob.
Cornette was unquestionably excellent on promos, however at ringside, he is highly, highly over-rated as a manager. The problem is that he simply overacts entirely too much.
@MystikWizard The job of all managers is too overact as much as possible. Cornette was "over" way more than his wrestlers except for Yoko and MIdnight Express. He totally overshadowed all the others. If they didnt overact and over-react you would never notice them. Heenan, Jimmy Hart, and Paul E. all overacted for there guys. Cornette is a wimpy, whiney, sorry-assed, mommas boy. That was his character.
Disagree on the extent of over-acting. I was fine with Heenan, who did the best of all of them. Hart was hyper. Paul E was intense. Each of them were believable in their roles and personalities to me except for Cornette. Cornette is regarded as one of the best promo guys in the business, but when you holler and scream and shout all the time ... it weakens the effectiveness of the promos. But his performances at ringside were what I mostly had a problem with.
@MystikWizard I can see your point, but I am one of the ones who laughed out loud when he screamed and whined like that. That high-pitched interview was hilatious to me. I loved James E. Wow two wrestling fans who can have a intelligent disagreement without put-downs. Nice.
That's because most wrestling fans are too immature to interact with. I used to be a Moderator on Wrestlezone and the immaturity level of it's member base averages around elementary school level. I can respectfully disagree with people, but if you are having a conversation with a WWE mark (especially today's Modern Day annoying fans ... who are the worst breed of wrestling fans I have ever interacted with), then forget it. You will be inundated with childish insults.
Following up, and this is simply my personal preference in what I want to see from managers (that's a dirty word to Vince nowadays) ... I simply want to believe that the manager at ringside is really managing the guy in the ring. He can act happy when things are going his way. He can get livid when they're not. He can act cowardly. He can act like a bully. But just don't overact while doing any of it ... which is my philosophy.
@JuJuMJFan4life You can Thank Hogan for that. He's also responsible for tha departure of EarthQuake,The Weasel,Mean Gene,Smash and so on... Then sure enough they ended up in WCW in late '93 and early '94.
@ontheroof99 about damn time someone knows what they are talking about. lol.btw i already knew about the tip. i feel sorry for the ppl who think john cena or triple h are the greatest wrestlers alive they should do their research and get back to me if they want to continue that conversation
dude he did the frankensteiner back in tna bound for glory in 09 then he quit the company a few months later. cena is not great. i have family members who wrestle and know cena doesnt have that many moves in his arsenal. scott steiner yes he was a great wrestler.the only reason he hasnt had many memorable matches now is well because he is aging hes 48 thats a abunch of bs check your videos. you dont see cena coming out with new tricks except for the fu and clothes lines .
@Steinerhottie What I meant about Cena was he's good on the mic, better before with his raps, and was more entertaining when he'd give shots at his opponents before the WWE censors stepped in. I never equated Cena to a great mat wrestler like Flair or Steamboat.
i was 10 years old at this time and knew that a gigalo was supposed to attract loads of ladies. i never understood how that man could have been jimmy del ray. the good news at the time was that women must have low expectations so when i grow up i should have loads of women
I sometimes cant believe that Scott is the same guy who became that muscle bound freak. I mean he cant even Frankensteiner anymore. Damn shame. Although they had one of the coolest themes the WWE made for anyone.
@Cavillier1970 ok you need to get your shit straight he can still deliver the frankensteiner but doesnt utilize the maneuver often helllllllllllllllloooo hes 48. he still doing pretty well. you can never find another wrestler like him- all around; great mic skills; great wrestler; great look. dont even compare him to cena. cena doesnt even qualify and run on his level. cena lacks wrestling skills which are very limited
@Steinerhottie Whens the last time he did a Frankenstiener? Age not withstanding, the fact he juiced himself into a walking example of roid rage. Hes not the wrestler he was, felt he had to trade in real in ring skill for steroid infused muscles and from reading his record its damn clear the man has serious emotional problems. I feel sorry for him. And seriously he was never that great on the mic. Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes he isnt. Hell he's not even in Cena's range. Steiners not that good.
nowadays you cant even find a wrestler who even comes close. steiner worked his way from scratch and ended up on top because of knowledge and skills instead of screwing his way to the top which i can name a couple. check out wcw videos on here and when he went to new japan honey you cant tell me he wasnt great. his movements were very fluid and right on target. i think i would know coming from a view from a technical mat wrestler myself.btw i wrote you a mssg its on the top of the other mssgs
@Cavillier1970 for a wrestling fan you sure dont know your facts and history that well im only 18 the steiner brothers have been around for like 21yrs
@Cavillier1970 He performed a frankensteiner on a match aired the first week of May 2011 (from the top rope no less) - search for it, it's on youtube...
@fagbert totally, im in disbelief. its like a totally different fucking person. the way he looks and the way he acts, like he was possessed by the devil or some shit.
@domirules28 This was a decent WWF PPV. They stole the Steiners from WCW though. I love how Mcmahon always accused WCW of stealing WWf talent yet in this PPV you had Lex Lugar and the Steiners all 3 of whom were WCW made!!!
Back in the early 90 ies when the Wrestlers had Managers and Diva s at their side
