  • He sure talked a lot of smack considering he lost to Donnie! lol

  • @dapowerlifter09 I looked on the official record lists....Donnie wasn't on it ...hmmm..funny that. If it aint official and there is no PROOF it dont mean shit. He has been beaten..by an Icelandic warrior....mr magnusson....but hey..he isnt american so. No biggie.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Lol..... look at the SPF organization. Donnie totaled 3,000 pounds on 8/21/11 to beat his previous world record of 2,900 pounds which was set on 11/24/08. He put up a 1265 squat, a 950 bench press and a 785 deadlift. Please learn your facts..... Also, Benedikt is one of my favorite lifters and no one can touch him on deadlift

  • Bet he could lift more if he lost weight

  • @gruhonjic

Bet you don't know what you're talking about, since we would lift less if he weighted less

  • @thestrafffer How in the world does fat help you lift anything?

  • @gruhonjic

Not fat , but if he loses weight, he would also use important muscle

  • @thestrafffer Bs, just an excuse to be a fat lard

  • @gruhonjic

In order to build muscle you need to eat calories. In order to muscle this strong, you need to eat a shitload of calories.. That's why he's not the smallest you'll ever see, since he probably doesn't do any cardio. Look at Mariusz pudzianowski for instance, he's ripped because he does a lot of cardio and so on. all though he doesn't lift this much, I think Andy concentrates on lifting, and not looking good.

  • @thestrafffer If calories turn to fat, which they obviously have in Bolton, they are not being used as energy. Therefore, they are excess calories. I guarentee he isn't fat because he wants to be. He's fat because he's a lazy lard.

  • @gruhonjic

How can you call a man that deadlifts 1000 pounds lazy?

  • @thestrafffer Because lifting weights isn't unenjoyable. I love when my football team has weight training, but I cringe when we have to do cardio. It's harder to do cardio than to lift weights. He is lazy because he doesn't want to.

  • @gruhonjic

perhaps because you deadlift 200 pounds. the amount of time you'll need in a gym, in order to lift 1000 pounds - is extremely much. We're talking hours and hours, where you body is hurting and your muscles are sore. Don't call him lazy, when he in fact has achieved someting, that's a thing you'll probably never do sitting there hating.. as epic meal time puts it "what you doin', hating? STOP HATING!"

  • @thestrafffer Where did you get that I dead lift 200 pounds? I do around 300 maybe some change. I can kind of tell you don't lift weights. You don't understand. And you're right, I won't ever dead lift 1000 pounds. But I can guarantee I will always have a way better body than this lard.

  • @gruhonjic Your comparing a physique (pretty disco muscles with no functionality i.e a bodybuilder) to a fat guy who trains purely for brute strength. Kinda like comparing chalk and cheese dont you think.A little immature for someone of 48 isn't it ??labelling someone a lard and of all people someone who is one of only 2 people in history to smash the 1000lbs deadlift a lard....kinda unsporting.

  • @gruhonjic You're a stupid gay fuck. Cardio is WAY easier for a tiny little shit who is built for cardio, and anaerobic training is easier for someone who is bigger. It all depends on your genetics. You will NEVER find someone under 12% bodyfat that can deadlift 1,000 pounds you imbecilic dumb ass cunt. The more fat you burn the MORE MUSCLE you burn, you can't get around this. Crawl back in your mom's vagina so she can do the world a favor and abort you. I'm done with you, cunt.

  • @yahoopl3 Down boy! Down boy! Are you a member of the keyboard crusade? Use whatever you want to justify being a huge fat faggot, but in the end you're still fat and will die earlier than everyone else, doing the world a favor. Tough guy..

  • @gruhonjic Having some excess weight helps one in powerlifting, even if its fat. (to an extent obviously) Theres a reason why there are so few powerlifters in the SHW class that look like mariusz or even derek poundstone. It's because the excess fat helps with leverages etc to handle more weight.

  • @feb12aaron Blah blah blah excuses excuses

  • @thestrafffer Btw calories don't build muscle, protein does. Calories are turned to energy.

  • @gruhonjic Don't give me "blah blah excuses".

When someone's goal is to set a record, they do whatever helps them to achieve that. Period.

As Louis Simmons said, "When you go to war, you go to kill, not to be killed".

When Mr. Bolton is setting a world record, he's going to give it his all and do whatever it takes. If being a bit overweight helps him lift more, especially when we're talking SHW class, you need everything you can to assist you. Extra fat also helps protect his joints and organs

  • @feb12aaron Yada yada blah blah

  • When it comes to the deadlift, Andy's the guy. And to those who trash him because he's heavy, get a grip. Andy does what needs to be done to be the best. Sure it isn't the healthiest thing to do, but since when are these guys concerned with health? They strive to do what other men cannot. For some, glory of victory is more important than several extra years of life. They live for passion. For victory. Not everyone is satisfied to be merely average.

  • sry andy... donnie thompson beat u

  • Why does this pig talk and breathe as if his troat is jammed? His voice sounds scared or something. Like he's held hostage by his own ruthless fat percentage.

  • @oetlul I just want to stab you in the face and watch the rest of your stupid family burn to death in a horrible car fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @oetlul Run along now you silly little Jerk, give the computer back to Mommy and Daddy, you fucking prick.

  • omg what the hell, he cannot talk anymore because of his weight

  • Strongman uses straps and allow hitching. Powerlifting does not. Strongman uses deadlift apparatuses or huge Hummer Tires for lower ROM. Powerlifting does not.

  • @nattulver Power lifting is one rep, hahahahaha. Strong men is 1000 times harder. Im a power lifter, but dont be dumb man.

  • @tastefulphrasing correction, powerlifting is one BIG FAT HEAVY REP! not just one rep. A one rep in powerlifting is the heavyest weight the athlete can lift. %100.

  • @tlast2O12dude Dont talk to me like im a fucking child, im not a johnny come lately to the subject. all Im sayin is, powerlifting is no where near as taxing as strong men. Sure, their form sucks towards the end, but with Power lifting, you do one "BIG FAT HEAVY REP", and then you go rest. Strong men is, deadlift a car, farmer walk, over head press, conan cirlce etc. So dont feed me the bull shit, that powerlifting is anywhere near as hard. Im a power lifter, and Im saying this.

  • @tastefulphrasing i wasn't saying you where wrong, Strongman IS a LOT harder, all i was saying was that powerlifing was not just one little rep and you go home like if nothing had happened. It's one rep that can take all the energy you have in just one lift.

But overall, Strongman is total speed and conditioning and yes it's hard as hell. Anyone can do powerlifting, but Strongman takes a lot of determination to do and energy so it's harder.

  • Wow he seriously out of breath jst doing an interview. Well powerlifters are the most unhealthy sports people

  • seems like a douche. donnie thompson is a nice guy.

  • LOL its immense and to be honest MENTAL STRENGTH IS KEY TO OVERCOMING ALL OBSTACLES!!!

48kg going for unequipped U20 brittish records

    THEY WILL BE MINE!!!!!!!

  • 48kg? you should look up naim suleymanoglu, he's a oly lifter but his feats were amazing, 190kg clean and jerk @ 60kg

  • Brian Siders is stronger than Donnie Thompson. I saw both of them lift at NERB in 2006.

  • brian siders is ridiculous

  • i well beat hem

  • Do you think anyone will come along and break Bolton's records?

  • Well if you watch the records in all sositaions records and offical records there is not 1 singel person who is eaven CLOSE to beat him 560kg squot think no person for the next 200 years will beat that no one is not eaven close. and same goes for the deadlift.

  • I don't know, I mean for every person who breaks a world record there's probably 10 people who could have done much better but they just never found out how good they were. Determination as much as genetics probably.

Its possible there's plenty of people walking around who could become stronger than the strongest man we know of but have never tried lifting. Not that many people even have a go at powerlifting.

  • Ya know... I have to agree here. Excellent comment. Makes you wonder who's out there?

  • Records are made to be broken, but I think anyone who holds a record at their time is the best they just didn't need to lift as much to be the best, if they had to deadlift 1000 pounds to be the best twenty years ago they might have. Something to think about.

  • @mustangcarpenter

Yeah, I just wonder where it will stop. I suppose advancements in the pharmaceutical industry and genetic tweaking will add a whole dimension to sport in general, but I imagine there must be a point at which a human body cannot pull or push any more weight.

Either way Bolton is a great lifter and nothing now or in the future will deprive him of that.

  • see u andy bc this american can and will beat u

  • You've got a long way to go before you can make claims like that, judging by your videos...

  • He may come off as cocky, but I like it. Humility is completely over-rated.

  • Do a quick search for squatprecision

where detecting perfect, legal squat depth for ANY federation has become an exact science.

  • what does he say? turtle world record holer? i am not saying this to make fun of him i just cant hear what he says.

  • because hes a propper northern english lad!

  • I didn't say why. I asked what he says.

  • I know, im telling you why anyway. And hes saying total, its a yorkshire accent.

  • he can hold more turtles than anyone else in the world. most of them he holds in his stomach.

  • Andy is a monster! 1000+ deadlift. Enough said...

  • I spoke to him yesterday, he is a good guy. There is nothing wrong with being super confident, he has earne that right so he can talk how he wants. He is nowhere near as cocky as Muhammed Ali was, by the way.

  • i bet you didnt talk to him yesterday you retard

  • @stu73ke shut your hole and go back to doing chin ups little retard

  • yes yes andy big up england powerlifting

  • he's acting like he's some sort of champion boxer/cagefighter

'i'll beat him in his backyard' yea like it matters your surroundings when you just need to make one movement...he might be the 'strongest' but he'd lose in strongman contests...

  • so what, the stongest strongman will never beat Bolton in powerlifting...

  • He said there is no one alive who can beat me RIGHT NOW. He's right, there isn't. Also strongman competitors training differs quite considerably to powerlifters, they don't come close to any of the squat, dead, bench records set by powerlifters. They train for High-Bar Deads and OH Press etc. I'm assuming your American and don't like to hear someone tell you they are better than you :]

  • read my statement again...

i said, the strongest strongman will NEVER beat Bolton in powerlifting...

    slow down fella, breathe...

  • This guy has a point. No pro strongman has deadlifted 1008 lbs from the floor. They have done more in the Hummer Tire Deadlift, but the bar starts higher up about a couple inches below the knee area.

  • that's why i said NO strongman will beat Andy in powerlifting...

  • tell that to Kazmaier!

  • and andy bolton will never beat the strongest strongman

  • and no strongman will outdeadlift bolton. they train for different things. quite funny when people compare apples and oranges

  • haha i know that was a reply to someone saying exactly what you just said

  • @xXxtimmytoughguyxXx

On that note, Benedikt Magnusson give's him some trouble and is a strongman. While ultimately they train for different events, both power lifters and strong men still utilize the "big three" in their training. While the strongman's focus may not be those lifts, they are still very strong in those areas. So I wouldn't say the comparison of apples and oranges is correct, more like different kinds of apples.

  • @kuniyoshi1

Back when benedikt was in a position to give andy any trouble at all, his focus was solely on the deadlift. Everything else was just assistance. He was a pure deadlifter who took an interest in strongman rather than a strongman who took an interest in deadlifting. Under powerlifting rules, andy bolton is entirely without equal when it comes to deadlifting.

  • @slauge

I understand that but that was not the point of my post. My point was that, just because one is a "Strongman" doesn't mean he can't compete with powerlifters. Kevin Nee being another example of a strongman deadlifting over 900lbs.

  • @xXxtimmytoughguyxXx well one just did! Benedikt Mangunson (strongman) deadlifted 1015 lbs.

  • @xXxtimmytoughguyxXx Big Z will brake this record too very soon.

  • It's good to have confidence, but Andy comes off a little cocky in this vid. Sure he's the best powerlifter in the world right now but that doesnt give him a right to be cocky. When 8X Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman was shittin on dudes in every contest, he wasnt bein cocky at all, in fact if you watch some of his vids and speeches, he is very humble.

  • Andy is man of confidence and he knows it. He is not a prick, and I am sure Derek Poundstone has nothing but respect for Mr. Bolton.

  • Andy is the strongest powerlifter in the world right now, no one can beat him, and he knows it

  • derek poundstone, look him up, hes a great strength athlete and hes not a damn fatass like andy bolton lol

  • derek who ? is a strongman, not a powerlifter.

  • arrogance is not only the privilege of american.

  • derek who ?

  • i didnt realise how cocky he was, i would have 10 times the respect for him if he wasnt cocky. confidence yes, arrogance no no no

  • You crazy, to be strong you have to be strong mentally, that is, be mightier than everyone else, eye of the tiger

  • Shame Donnie couldnt outlift Andy in the BPC 2008 last week ;)

  • he's too cocky... magnusson's gonna beat his deadlift

  • Donnie is THE man! I hope he kicks major butt this weekend. GO BIG DONNIE!!! USA all they way baby!

  • what were the results? is there a video of the meet?

  • Donnie is THE man!! I hope he kicks major butt this weekend. GO BIG DONNIE!!!

  • ok sorry, i thought thats why it was un official, cuse thery added his best lifts from differentm eets etc. i thought it was only offical when it was from saem meet. howcome it was unofficial, did he do it at the gym or sommit

  • Damn, he looks huge...I read on his website he's weighing 365!! Andy would step on Donnie Thompson.

  • Donnie weighs close to 400. And Donnie does have the WR total, so if Andy beats him then he beats him, but as of now Donnie has the highest total ever.

  • yesb ut is it a record? ive read all his lifts best ever adds up to alot, but so does andys, andy will cream this guy np

  • Talk is cheap. Donnie has the highest total, period. Andy did as much as he could, and Donnie came back and beat him. Until Andy beats him again, Donnie is the man. It doesn't matter if you can beat someone, it matters when and if you do.

  • eh donnie has never beat him. donnies total was from his best ever lifts which he did a different meets. if you added andys up then yoiu wiill finid out that he is miles infront of donnie. donnie is great, but hes not andy bolton and only bolton can beat himself ;)

  • andys total unoffical is 2887 btw. his bench lets him down most, donnies is 2850 loast time i saw. al lthere best lifts added together.

  • You don't add up their best lifts to get a total...it's from one meet. Donnie's is the highest...

  • Wrong. Total = one meet.

Donnie Thompson, January 20, 2008, IPA Columbus Open, 1155 squat, 900 bench, 795 deadlift, 2850 total.

Andy's best total is in the low 2800's.

Are you people really that stupid to think that a total is comprised of different meets? Go learn somethin.

  • come on andy, show them whos boss!

  • Bolton is the man!

  • Right on!

  • try to bet Poles you fat ass ;-)

  • Er what?

  • i dare u to say that to his face
