The lupine mount is the same as on most of their lights once it's in place it never moves. I have a lupine Betty 7 with this same mount NEVER moves no matter how rough the trail is. I have also have this light and again never moves. Everything about the lupine brand is quality well designed and reliable. Don't knock something until you have tried it!

that mount doenst look sturdy at all. and its attached to the head unit and not the much heavier battery pack.
