@daddybearification My Father was in Korea and he heard of the Gurkha's being the only unit the North Korean's were in total fear of. They were noted for taking heads as you stated and "no enemies with heads remain alive" was a common report from Gurkha units (dad was in intel)

Nah, nonsense I have my Dad's (he served with the Gurkhas) it been with us for, I don't know 50 years. Its as sharp as a razor and if I had to live on a desert island, that would be my first bit of kit. You need to know how to use it, thats all. I'd try and chop wood with it as a kid and it was horrible. When I learnt how to hold it and where to cut. Its a great tool. Its an all purpose knife.

@diliprai The Gurkha wage is based on living costs in Nepal, my mum was in the Army (Queen Alexandra's Nursing Core) and spent most of her time posted in Hong Kong also spending small amounts of time in Nepal and she heard from Gurkha soldiers that their wage was able to support their whole village. In the UK granted it would be awful however if they were given the same amount of money as British soldiers, based on the exchange rate it would cause a lot of problems in Nepal's economy.
