I wonder how misplaced he might have felt at times for being so ahead of his day and era. Maybe in 500 years we will talk about a Leonardo Da Vinci from the 21st century who once saw it coming long before anyone else would even dare to dream about it.. the new social paradigm that is... a resource based economy. I wonder who that person is going to be, and how misplaced he should feel right now. When people lack the vision they feel insulted and irrationally threatened by those who possess it!
Mona Lisa. I think that he was just in love with her, who ever she was, and her eyes say that she knew it. "He carried the painting for years and he was never quite done with it, the only reason it exists the way it does today is because he died". Who ever the woman was he was in love with her. It was not just about seeking for perfection in art, he could have chosen any other woman, any other face to fixate is artistic restlessness on. Just a theory lol
it's not that they wouldn't have worked. he was just ahead of his time and they didn't have gasoline. the only energy providing source he had was humans and we arent strong enought to move a vehicle or create flight. he didnt have the technology, if he lived 50 more years he wouldnt invited the airplane most definately
it's nice to know that he accepted that if he did'nt go through with an idea somebody someday would...it's a pity it took 500 years into the future to actually realize his goals :o
To all you star wars fans, listen to what Leonardo said at 7:30. "I am inspired by the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough, we must act on it. Being willing is not enough, we must do." Yoda "Do, or do not. There is no try." Leonardo > Yoda.
Anyone else think that he turned his mind to the body as he got older as his own one was likely to fail him one day and he wanted to understand why. I don't think it had anything to do with a code just a thirst for knowledge and understanding.
the fact that the narrator refers to everything da vinci did as a code is fucking retarded. So da vinci was driven, that doesnt mean he has a code. So he wrote backwards, thats still not a code. Inventing a form of primitive communication is a code, such as Morris. Da Vinci Code is a book, nothing more nothing less.
The narrotor means code differently. He means it as a sort of set of rules, feelings and ideas that Leonardo held dearly, and that drove him, he lived by his code.

@bigman25plus25 ya it's interesting to because the characters you kill and the things happening in the era are real (except assassins of course)

This is a great show. But it frustrates me that we can’t see what they are saying in Italian.
middletech 1 year ago 80
@middletech It's in Italian because Leonardo was Italian, hahahahahahahahahaha
