social services and the fucking government have increased problems in the city by more than half. people from all of canada are flocking here to do drugs and rob pharmacies.
This is why I hate going downtown, you can never enjoy your night out because of people like that or bums bugging you for change every ten feet. I no longer go downtown unless I really have too lol.
I wonder what she did to draw all that attention. Perhaps there's was a lot of officers in the area and the call was urgent so there was more officers then needed.
It's my opinion, the prisoner looked like she was treated fairly.
People that complain about police mistreating them should understand, if they don't like that treatment, don't break the law.
I'm speaking from experience. I've received a beat down before from the police and to be completely forthcoming, I deserved it for acting lik
A lot of people in the Ottawa police beat people up.
It goes unseen and they lie about it,they also make up stories like "this person was hitting my cruiser hood".The hood has dents in it,but what they say are lies.
They must be stopped as they prey on the most vulnerable like a pack of vultures.
yeah like they need fifty police officers for one women, trust me, I have been abused by them before like this, they have nothing better to do then beat on the women....fuckers.
Paramedics on scene and no signs of excessive violence... what's the problem? Canada's not a police state, you're an anarchist. And by the way, if this was in the US, that woman on the hood of the second cruiser would have been shoved off and arrested within 5 seconds of getting on it. The cops here aren't all perfect, but these guys look like they're just doing their jobs.... what's your justification for saying otherwise?
You're right, it doesn't show the takedown, so anything could have happened to the woman; we don't know if the police did it. Even if they did, the actions of a few officers does not render Canada a police state.
And actually hyperbole is the perfect word. From Dictionary[dot]com: "obvious and intentional exaggeration."
Yes, there are instances of police brutality. We've seen plenty recently with them using inappropriate force on Occupy members.
But you need to do some research, say maybe into North Korea. We (America, Canada, Europe, etc) are far from being a police state. Any claims that we are can be boiled down to ridiculous paranoia.
And your proof of Canada being a police state is...?
Sorry, but this inconclusive video is not evidence (in fact the description praises our police force). If you're trying to convince people of something that's outside the norm, you need to back it up. Otherwise you're just rambling.
I'm not wearing any sort of glasses, but you may want to remove your tin foil hat.
The young cop with the tattoos in this video at the car door. I video taped him making a nasty arrested on the next street in the byward market two weeks ago. He threaten me for video taping him.
Those individuals in this video, wearing the clothing saying "police" are the cause of the problems. They all dress alike, wield guns, roll in numbers, gang-beat people. The largest gang in the city!
@Jesse29ish Wrong. Only when searching. No search in this video. And if you think they are going to wait around for a female copper to show up when the suspects safety, public safety and officer safety is put at risk...think again. It is a policy for a female officer to search a female suspect, just like a warrent is used to enter a house. But in exigent circumstances, those the officer must articulate, they can enter a house with no warrent and a male officer can field search a female suspect.
@stephmc111 Only one person killed Police Officer Garrett Styles, Only one person killed Sgt. Ryan Russell, Only One person killed Cst. Vu Pham, Only one person killed Cst. Chris Garrett. Every one of these officers had a wife and were responsible for looking after their children. Waste of tax dollars? Too Many officers? Go through the process to be a cop, pick up the badge and gun and then go walk a beat in any major city in Canada for ONE DAY. Then come back and comment.....
@IAmCanadianUK how about you try living on the "beat" as you put it. yes police officiers get killed but thay are aware of the risks involved of taking the job. you must be a cop, blow me.
@stephmc111 Why such hate for the police? Why have you ended a rather intelligent comment with "blow me?" Do you not like to follow rules, are you anti-authoritative and have a general disregard for rules and regulations? I'll give you some advice, and it's free of charge. You are in a minority. A very, very small minority. And that is very sad for you. The vast majority of society has holds the police in high standards and high regard. Yes, on occassion, we save lives and help victims of crime.

@stephmc111 . I can completely understand why there is mistrust for the Police. I honestly can. One or two rotten apples does spoil the bunch. I would equate it to the tree huggers out there who are anti-police, left wing, earthy types who have no regard nor respect for the Police. From time to time, I agree with the majority of what they say, regrettably, a handful of them like to resort to violence and disruption. It spoils the message. And it pits the majority against the minority
@IAmCanadian I lived on those exact streets for 12 yrs of my life. I do know how they abuse their badge. Nearly almost everyday I saw police officers beat homeless people to the ground, before even asking for id. For pointless reasons, luckly I am not being abused by police anymore, becasue I am no longer homeless...guess I am the lucky one eh?
In the past, I have been taken by police, taken to a secluded area, beaten, and then brought back to a different shelter, with the police KNOWING that
@Jesse29ish I do not doubt that for a single second. I honestly believe that. But the service I work with, I am also in contact with homeless people everyday and as a Constable, I have saved one person from committing suicide with a pair of scissors, assisted a one eyed homeless person who had taken an overdose of seizure medication and I always offer a smile and tell them that I am here to help them. In my three years on the job, I have never, EVER, heard of a homeless person being beat.
@Jesse29ish ...I am truly sorry that you hate the police and by the sounds of it, you have good reason to. But I for one am an honest man, I am a role model for my children and I strive, on a daily basis to help those less fortunate than me. I have a hate for criminals who live under this freedom and flaunt it by preying on those of us who work hard for a living. Hence, why I am making an argument here that not all cops are bad. And that I do not see a waste of taxpayer money in this video.
