Vedantka, I couldn't agree with you more. He was just a front. One of the main founders of the Indian constitution, B.R. Ambedkar, a Buddhist, had many disagreements with Gandhi. B.R. Ambedkar read the quran and said he disagreed with it. It oppresses women and doesn't state slavery itself is a sin. Something Gandhi was way to week to state. Gandhi didn't even state he wanted total independence until Bhagat Singh said it.

Vedantka, I believe Gandhi's problem was he tried to please everyone except the Hindu people. And in the effort he screwed up everything. Even though it was B.R. Ambedkar who is one of the main founders of the Indian constitution it was Gandhi that imposed the minority religions rights into the constitution. And that one of the main reasons why, to this day, India has so many problems.

- The point is, the non-idol worshiping Hindus are more true to non-idol worshiping than muslims. They believe praying towards a rock, even if it isn't considered god, is idol worship. And the non-idol worshiping Hindus are against pilgrimage and directional prayer. They believe the most superior way to pray is to think of God and that is it. The best way to do that is by meditation.
