Its so obvious. Look how particular he is when he holds the box... theres a flap that he is pinching the foam balls between when he lifts it up.

one of the balls is hollow and has a hole in it which makes it possible to turn it inside out. It is red on outside and yellow on inside. - there is also a second yellow ball inside the ball, which is pushed out when the ball is turned inside out. The box has a flap inside it which is pushed shut with his thumb (squashing the ball into the frame - and making it appear to disappear) - awesome trick!

there is no need for a yellow ball to be in the box. the ball that is thrown in the box lands in a pocket that is held shut when lifting the box to show that it is empty. the ball that is pressed into the closed fist is is turned inside out revealing the second yellow ball and changing the color of the aforementioned yellow.

The box has a flap on its front side. This is left open to receive the ball you throw inside. When you show the interior of the box you close the flap with your thumb and flatten the ball. The other ball has a heat reactive colour change effect. It is also hollow, and contains another sponge ball inside it. You remove the additional ball from inside, and the hollow version returns to its inflated state.

Also why does the box have a black strip on its bottom edge?

If you notice he grabs the inside of the box with his thumb in the same place both times, my guess is there is a side flap or pocket he is holding against the side of the box.

My guess is hinged flap on the front inside of the box - ball is thrown into compartment & then hinge is closed when lifted up.

Two yellow ones could be a couple of ways, but as a guess colour changing sponge balls...?

I think the ball on the right has another ball inside of it. When he puts it in his hand he turns the red ball inside out, pushing a yellow ball out and making that ball yellow.

The one he throws I think goes into a pocket and holds it there, when he goes to lift the box he palms it. When he lifts the box up both times he uses his thumb to close the pocket.

i'm betting it has to do with perspective-- the table is probably further away from his hands (and closer to the camera) than it looks. therefore the balls are actually thrown away behind the table

No idea about how you're doing the main bit but it occured to me that the balls might be made of that stuff that changes colour in contact with heat. I have some thinking putty that goes from red to yellow, that's what made me think of it. :D
