  • Im going to go out and buy all these pedals, or I could buy that Lamborghini I was saving up for and save a few bucks

  • Hey this is very important!

First a great video, but i bought today my chorus pedal (GLX ch-100). And putted it after my distortion pedal (Behringer to-100). i setted everting up and then BOOM! my chorus pedal is still on but there is no chorus sound and by distortion pedal is dead now. what's the problem???

    plzzzzz help!

  • Uuuuuu I want that whammy. Nice vid dude.

  • my setup : guitar-overdrive-distortion-chorus-delay-reverb-wah

  • @1996Prashant Wah should really be near the front of the chain.

  • zzzzzzzz,sorry

  • Don't like boss, but sweet angled pedal board setup...

  • Amazing collection of guitar gear, make sure you label your valuable items at the antilosta website just in case you loose it one day, I have all my valuables labeled with antilosta and recently had an expensive camera returned back to me after having lost it away from home in one of my gigs. It's free at antilosta-dot-com.

  • @shonymusica

Something to look into. . thanks!

  • dude where the hell are that clips of pedals you've promised to post? ;>

  • @stratixx7

I am waiting on a Wal, I had sold a few of the pedals sometime back but have replaced with some new ones now. Once that little bass comes in be assured that clips will come.

  • OMFG AWESOME!

  • already gone!!

  • Wanna sell that Bass Whammy?

  • tremello?>

  • @Naminator99 sounds like a delicious marshmallow type treat.

  • That pedal board is a complete beast!

  • On the clean channel why do you go from the wammy to gt2 and bass fuzz etc into the head and then use effects loop to bring the other pedals?. Is it any different than just putting them together into the head or looping everything?

  • so when how is that demo coming along?

  • PLEASE answer me these two...

How do you carry this??? In a hard case??? :S

    In a bag?

And how do you make pedals not be unstacked from the wood/plastic...

I wanna make my one pedal board and I love this shape but I have those problems...

    Thank you! Great choices :)

  • did you ever sell this?

  • um i just hav to ask u don't u think thats a bit of overkill for a bass a mean u've got like 5 of the same type of pedal lol, but sick setup dude

  • @u2m2i5n7abunnies thanks man, but none of these pedals are even close to being the same, as far as sound goes of course...

  • can you please tell me what kind of bass amp to get to get for my fender aerodyne bass, i want to sound as close as justin chancellor as i can just not a bass that is 2 expensive

  • can you please tell me what bass amp i shud get for my fender aerodyne bass. i want to sound as mutch as justin chancelor as posible

  • my mistake 2:10

  • @fenderfreakdh LOL damn recordings

  • Great Vid!!!

the way u say "bass fuzz" at 2:12 is hilarious i just kept rewinding it and listen to you say it. lol

    but still great vid.

  • @fenderfreakdh I lol'd at tre-ME-lo. But seriously, Chancellor is a mad bassist, I respect this sonic recreation.

  • @fenderfreakdh he also pronounces it that way later in the video XD

  • wreck93 ur a dumb ass some bassists like Justin Chancellor use just as much effects as the guitarist and sometimes they even do it better

  • You obviously don't know and wouldn't understand.

  • @wreck93 facepalm at this comment

  • @wreck93 because bass has a lot of sounds and tones that havent been created ahahha

duh its an awesome thing to use pedals for bass you have more variety and bass choices.

    Great pedals you have man.

Hey is that a digitech whammy for bass cause i can never find them?

  • @wreck93 That's the most idiotic comment I've heard in a long time.

  • @wreck93 / implied facepalm back at u /l2p / evrything . u shouldnt have been born ..., ,,,,

  • beautiful

  • You got to get a new Wal Mach II. I did and the thing is badass I sold all my other basses because once you get a Wal everything else is junk. I got one with a birdseye maple top as well. Wal only requires a third down or around 1300 dollars, when its done then you pay the rest. So it made it more afforbable to me because it was like making payments on a bass.

  • Would you suggest the GE-7 to me a classic rock guitarist

  • @posiedonpowertrio

    Sure would...

  • i'm quite keen on JC's distorted tone, for example, in Jambi. Is that tone more reliant on the GT2? I was considering getting one of the Sansamp bass-specific pedal; the VT, BassDriver DI or the GT2. And intending to get a tone similar to his, however, of those 3, the GT2 is the lowest rated (upon checking many websites, including the Tech 21 website).

Reiterating the question; is his distorted tone more based on the GT2 or from his GK amps?

  • The Colorsound Tonbender is what he uses for Jambi. The GT2 more for like schism, the pot, parabola, h. to name a few. The GT2 does loose it's bottom end but is much brighter as you can hear from his live sound.

Now the distorted/crunchy tone comes from both the GK head but more so the modded RAT with a bit of EQ on the grit channel which is continuously on and more detailed as albums came out.

  • hah, "my little pedal-board" we all know you are proud of it ( very nice )

..but, I hoped that you might could help me with the FOXX FUZZ WAH, Personally I think it cuts of to much of my lower freq's. do you have a setting that you thinks, is cool ???

  • which pedals does justin use the most?

  • probably the digitech whammy which of course is discontinued and rarely sells on ebay, but when it does its like 500 bucks but you can buy an eventide pitchfactor which is also like 500 bucks

  • haha at the way you say tremolo.

  • why on earth would you sell this? i looked at it and i thought... "justin is selling his board!!!" and i thought that meant no new tool album =( fortunatly it wasnt him (that i know of) but instead you.. and i cant imagine why you would sell this great array of pedals

  • Certain circumstances, if I could avoid it I would.

  • sounds like a divorce..i feel for you dude.. that is practically my dream board... Chancellor got me interested in effects.. i would buy it but i dont know that i can even meet your minimum bid..

  • No No No Divorce... LOL

More like new baby on board and other projects are in my sights. The reserve is actually pretty moddest.

  • Nice setup, man.

  • where are the FX samples?

  • Can you use 2 distortion pedals at 1 time ? Say the Dimebag MXR DD11 with a Boss MT 2 Metal zone ?

  • I am pretty sure you can, it's always worth a shot. You never know what kind of sound you might end up with after tweaking a bit here and there.

  • yeah you can. it wont sound too good though. just really high gainy and overdone.

  • Sire

    thou art one rich man!

  • How are you running your effects loop pedals through both gks?

if that IS what you are doing.

  • I am not running the effect loops through both heads. I only run it through the main head. The other head only has the grit side going straight through. I am waiting on a Demeter Pre which the bass will go straight to, there after a Radial JD-7 Injector that will route all signal chains without and loss of tone. Once I get those in I will post another vid on how that is set up as well.

  • sick

    :) demeter. hell yeah.

Keep up the good work, to the guy with the best JC setup other than Toolmybass.

    Keep it up!

  • nice setup man! :) how much did the RAT dist. set ya back? :) and is it any good?

  • It's a great distortion but just looses a bit of the bottom end. I picked up through Music 123 a few years ago and the prices have not changed on these. You can get these already modded for bass through several different companies now for a bit more.

  • HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR THAT BASS WHAMMY!!!?? i hate you.

  • Thanks for the video brother...very interesting and helpful! Please do another video showing each effect in action!

  • Not a problem man, I will be working on that as soon as I finish moving to my new house and get all setup.

  • thank you! :) and man, hows that bass coming out? I saw that on your profile. Shaped exactly like a WAL. and looks like one too. Is it the same wood???

  • Thanks, the bass is made out of a Brazalian Mohogony Core, with English red Oak Burl top and Copper Beach back facings.

The neck is going to be a 5 piece consisting of curly maple and Black & White Ebony with an Ebony fingerboard.

A pair of ACG EQ-02 Pre's along with a pair of Kent Armstrong pickups made to order will top her off. I cannot wait.

  • Are those the same woods and electronics that the Mk IIs are made of? I think its incredible the effort you're putting into this with the freaking wood shop. :) VERY LUCKY. you seem to know what you're doing my friend

  • Much Appreciated.

I will be posting some pics of the work in progress as soon as I get back from leave. I am redoing the neck as the first on was garbage and one piece. The new on will be a 5 piece curly maple with ebony fingerboard.

The same core just different facings. Wal uses many different kinds of facings. As for the pre-amps, they are designed by Alan of ACG and John of East electronics in the UK. They have the same filter stacks and Q that can produce an amazing Wal sound.

  • Holy shit... where'd you find that BR-2 dude? Idk where to get them..

  • It really took me about 6 or 7 months of non stop looking and hunting, it was a pain in the ass.

  • do u know which pedal i need for disposition?

  • You need some delay and a Bass Whammy with the 5th Up/ 1 Up Harmony.

Another good pedal that is less expensive than the Bass Whammy and works great is the Digitech XP 100.

  • thankyou. very helpful my friend.

  • Man, his is pretty awesome, do you find using guitar pedals (particularly modulation ones) yours bottom end is still okay?

  • Thanks man. Bottom is still good! The second channel makes up for lost bass when using the GT2. Other than that it works like a champ.

  • Actually, Justin runs the dirty channel from the dry out of the whammy, so he gets a completely wet signal when he uses the tremolo or whammy.

  • Actually the dry out of the whammy is a common misconception...

His dirty channel is fed via a Radial JD-7 injector.

  • How do you find Tone Bender and Bass Fuzz? I've heard that the diference between them is very small. Bass Fuzz is supposed to be more synthy, but in fact you don't need bass version as Tone Bender has no low end lost.

You really should make demo clips of these two!!!

  • To me the Bass Fuzz has a fatter and thicker sound to it and seems to handle the lower frequencies much better. Synthy I agree...

The Tonebender is much crunchier in comparison. You can say the Tonebender does not loose any bottom end, and the bass version seems to add more.

I will post up a clip comparing the two.

  • ^ This is an excellent idea!!!

  • thanks for the reply. ut seriosuly, you got a sick setup and awesome skills man. keep rockn. you should get a ring mod :D

  • MAN!!!! SICK!!!!! hey do you want anything for that bass fuzz? it's rad and i've been wanting one.

  • and another thing, how'd u get that whammy?!?!?

  • Thanks man, I am stationed in England at the moment and had the chance to go the the Sola factory in London to pick one up along with the Tonebender. As far as the whammy goes, I found one on Italian Ebay a few months back.
