i haven't seen it but form what i can understand it pretty much thrives on sensory overload and oddity for the sake of being odd. which isn't bad, sometimes we need to be punched in the face by a giant collage of sound and visuals. and odd is good, we need something to break way from all the played out story lines.

Just got done watching it. Extremely weird, random, and at some points scary even, but incredibly beautiful at the same time. The ending was amazing, finishing with an incredible song. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I just came back from the screening in Baltimore!!! Everything about this visual album was amazing from my point of view! The sound and music was incredible, and the video was freaking hypnotic and mind blowing X3 Definitely buy the DVD if you never get a chance to see it, you won't be disappointed :3

Animal Collective didn't direct this, they just did the scoring. David Perez directed it, so even if Panda Bear did email you admiring your work, which I highly doubt, he would have nothing to do with the visuals at all.

Besides, I watched some of your stuff and I see it having absolutely no aesthetic resemblence to ODDSAC at all.

animal collective and i like so many of the same things. when they first started the band they were inspired by horror films such as "the shining" and "texas chainsaw massacre" as will be evidenced by ODDSAC. It's going to be a glorious mindfuck, can't wait to see it!

the film follows no particular structure, flow, plot, or cohesive storyline. which emulates and symbolizes everything that animal collective is. being weird for weird's sake and being creative for the sole purpose of being "creative" and "original", with no ultimate message or focal point. pink floyd was original, creative, and weird, however all of their music had a collective vision and an honest purpose, which animal collective lacks. making their music garbage.

I am really excited for the dvd release. Although am I the only one who hopes for more. At far as the plot or sequence or flow of the movie, I don't think the trailer shows any of that. Hopefully there will be something a bit more solid for the music to fall back on. Dont get me wrong I am MORE than excited. But just a thought.
