  • You talk to your animals like I talk to mine. :)

  • What kind of chicken is the one with black and Wight?

  • I thought it was cute how you thought it was cold at ten degrees. =) Thanks for posting the video.

  • I like your video. It's funny because I'm in WI and my chickens are just like that.

  • I live in Maine, and like to lay a bunch of old hay out after it snows and the chickens seem to appreciate it to step on. They stay outside more.

  • Hahahaha, great vid, I am glad that I am not the only one that talks to my chickens. now I know that I have not lost my mind.

  • OK - No water, no food and NO heat - i would say this should be titled How Not to Care for Chickens!!

  • I wonder how much glass the chickens ate?

  • Holy shit that was a lot of chickens hungry.

  • at tractor supply co - Little Giant® Automatic Waterer $36.99 and also ever fill bowl $ 29.99 tractorsupply.c...m

  • cute vid....nice set up.

  • your chickens are pretty. How to you keep the raccoons and foxes out of the chicken house?

  • Chickens: ITS FREAKING COLD BACK IN BACK IN RETREAT

    * indoors* Chickens : ok no heat no water and zero food * bucket of feed get sit on the ground

Chickens : EVERY MAN WOMEN AND CHILD FOR THEMSELVES!!!!!!

lol great vid btw youve been a big help in helping me out with my hen shes almost a year old and this is her first winter its getting cold so im keeping her inside for the time being until i can find a way to get her a nice warm coop

  • Love your video. So cute! That's animals for ya. They are not shy. They stormed that feed bucket like gremlins.

  • I live in Florida and my chickens would probably have a stroke if they saw snow like that! Lol

  • Well this is a good vid for me Im moving to Ohio and it gets like snow and blizzards and freezing out there this is good for them BUT.......

My house prob wont have much land and I prob only have like 3 chickens......

    good vid :)

  • Lol im 13 and live in the city this is soooo funny

  • They shouldn't get that hungry! Get more food!!! My chicken feeder never gets empty - and no, my chooks are not overweight.

  • so this is a video on how NOT to care for chickens....

  • @MrCapeCanaveral I totally dis-agree with you, the water gets drunk, the food gets eaten & chickens break things! This is a totally honest video that shows that chickens require supervision & upkeep. She has water'ers that are not down on the ground getting chicken poo in them the feed is pelleted to minimize waste, AND, those chickens were fat & sassy. If she was neglecting them they would be skinny & fighting each other. I thkn she's doing a fine job. It was just AM feeding.

  • @tmomof6 I agree with you. I feed our chickens twice a day and their food is empty when I go out. They get lots of scraps. Being in Maine, their water freezes and we have to water our animals three times a day. Some people don't have the means to have heaters for their waterers. We are getting lots of eggs all winter long and have healthy hens!

  • cool!

  • Can u please tell me where did u buy the chicks and if that is a store in what state is it and do they have a website ? Please reply :)

  • That was really funny and cute. We are city rats but moving out to some acreage soon and thought chickens might be a fun project to do with the kids. Could anyone estimate how much time we will need per day to keep them healthy and collect the eggs - say, a dozen eggs a day. We will be in New England, if that's any help. Also, how much money to get set up? Just rough estimates are all I can hope for. I'd also like a jersey cow for milk, but I haven't convinced my wife yet....

  • @famemolto Forget the cow!!! Way too much work. You MUST milk it twice a day no matter what. For a dozen eggs a day you should get around 15 hens. They lay eggs all summer and slow down or stop laying in the winter though. Check breeds for more information. You do not need a rooster to lay eggs. Cost is around $3 a chick and they do not produce for 6 months. Food is $10 a bag that lasts a week or so.

  • @GardenOfImagination YOU CAN HAVE A MILK COW AND YOU CAN ONLY MILK IT 1 TIME PER DAY, JUST LEAVE THE CALF WITH THE COW AND THE CALF WILL GET THE MILK YOU DON'T HAHAHA SIMPLE

  • @famemolto We went ahead & got full grown layers because feed here went up to $14 a bag for layer pellets & I knew two "city" farmers who were getting rid of their hens @ $8 each. So we didn't have to wait for 6mo for laying to begin. We had eggs in two weeks!!! Also feed type matters: Ours free range & get supplemented with layer mash in the evening before going to coop. Its December now & we get about 2-3 eggs a day from 7 hens. We do not have a light in the coop, yet.

  • CHICKENZ lol

  • same set up I have, cept I put a bird bath heater in the water container...this was working good until it got to -20...then it turned the water to steam. I went in to check on them, and they were all wet! Needless to say it freaked me out a bit. So, I took the heater out, and started to give them water twice a day until it got a bit warmer out.

  • haha thats how my chickens look when i let them out of the coop and theres snow on the ground..haha

  • your a very good impersonater of chickens mine are jsut like that

  • i love your barrded rock rooster! hes soooo cuet!

  • make more! i love these!

  • I think you should get another feed tray...

  • @kittens1238 We actually only have about 10 chickens now so it works a lot better.

  • @GardenOfImagination okay because they are ravenous in this video!!! :P

  • how do you clean the inside?? srry im just doing my research before i get my own chickens :D

  • @999Mariko We keep a foot of straw on the floor and scrape it out with a shovel when it needs cleaned out. Then we lay fresh straw. I would totally wait until spring or summer to start with them. Winter is more expensive and they barely give eggs this time of year.

  • I wish i lived in the country i love chickens they are cute including the babys

    :)

  • @PenguinsRule990 Yeah, well, it's not cute when the alph rooster attacks you. I gotta step up more often & show him who is boss.

  • @PenguinsRule990 At this moment I'm not LOL....You should see what that Rooster just did to me. Crown feathers all puffed up & feet was'a flying at me! Oh my! Can't even close up the coop proper...Just waiting for the Hubby to get home....Guess that Roo showed me whose boss.(Tonight) ONLY! LOL

  • @JimmyPagesSoloLover I dont think that rooster likes you

  • @PenguinsRule990 Now what in the world would give you that impression? :-O

  • @PenguinsRule990 Huh? sorry. By the way, I was merely petting the kittens when that Rooster attacked me. I believe he claims them as well! Hmph!

  • @JimmyPagesSoloLover thos poor kittens are you ok?

  • @PenguinsRule990 Lol, yes I am great. It's not like I backed down. I must say that I have never had a pet be so dang mean! He even growls like a mad cat. I think I will name him andy....Don't even ask.

  • @JimmyPagesSoloLover i know some of my pets are mean for no reason i mean my one dog almost bit my face off for some reason. So whats your plan to tell the rooster whose boss?

  • @PenguinsRule990 Crumble, cracked corn, scratch, fresh water & love. I know that's the gonna work for an alpha rooster but I got nothing better to offer. Good Night.

  • @JimmyPagesSoloLover Night :)

  • @PenguinsRule990 One last thought here. It occurred to me tonight as dinner time rolled around and the pains of hunger set in. It's a good thing for that Rooster that I don't like chicken soup, chicken pot pie, grilled chicken, fried chicken, broiled chicken or chicken and dumplings. Then I had another thought. I have with in the past year acquired a taste for thickly glazed BBQ Chicken! Good thing I love animals! He will not see that grill or that bottle of BBQ sauce.I'm being good to that bird!

  • i wished i had chickens! :(

  • @sophisticatedx33 I'm having a Chicken sale! Care to make the first bid? Got 150 birds...from chicks to Roosters & Hens. I have one Roo I will let go for cheap! He's a mean one! lol

  • @JimmyPagesSoloLover I wished!! I live in the city so I dont think I can have chickens ;(

  • @sophisticatedx33 Hmmm, don't know the laws where you live? Isnt city life a drag! I can't stand to go up to the city. If I even think about having to go my nerves get haywire. Coutryside & chickens are just fine by me anyday. By the way, I was j/k about selling the mean Roo. :-)

  • @JimmyPagesSoloLover CIty chickens are great!! Urban farming is becoming huge in Columbus,Ohio. The German Village community that I live in is trying to keep everything local and make as little impact on the environment as we can. So I can load up eggs and veggies from my backyard (which is small but has more than enough room for a garden that a dozen people can eat from) Meet some of our society members and we swap veggies/eggs. There are several of us that keep chickens here, it's great!

  • @sophisticatedx33 check with your city, I live in Columbus, Ohio, in the city and we are allowed 4 hens-no roosters clearly because of the noise! Here the city comes and inspects your coop or living area for the hens and you write a health/care plan for hens, they speak to your neighbors as long as they feel you can take care of them in the city and not bother the neighborhood they will issue you a permit. I pay my neighbors off with fresh eggs :)

  • Hilarious video! They are funny creatures.

  • Where did you buy the high tech lock for the coop door ? I have been looking for one.

  • my chickens do the exact same thing. their first winter we had a day when it was -10 degrees F and we were hit by a very large dust storm. they had two heat lamps and one the light just burnt out, and the other one fell and almost burnt the chicken coop down. it was a very terrible winter and we lost all water to the barn and the coop because of frozen pipes, then they ran out of food for three days and we were snowed in with a white out. last winter sucked

  • @teenmod12 That sounds SO hard!!! I completely feel for you. And last winter did suck.

  • your chickens are funny

  • I wish i had snow like that here the coldest winter day here are 60 in the night 75 in the day

  • well what did u think was gunna happen when u put the feed down lol. like your vid

  • lol they were like zombies to a brain when they rushed that feed

  • LOL Harvest Moon makes it look so easy :P.

  • I am so lucky to live in a country that does not snow,EVER!!!!

  • Haha :)

    Cute!

  • thank you!

  • I know how you feel. I grew up in the city, Denver and Colorado Springs. The country is very nice to play outside. But I do have to watch the children carefully because they are small and would make good coyote food.

  • @GardenOfImagination do you still live in Colorado if so do you live on the western slope or the eastern slope

  • @personwhocantcount I live in Kansas though I grew up in Colorado Springs. I'm a city girl living in the country! I've learned A LOT of things here.

  • @GardenOfImagination I live on the western slope and last year it didn't snow alot but it was bad because it would freeze almost every night until april

  • They are out first thing in the morning until it's dark. So no, I do not stand there and watch them all day. But if you are volunteering.... come on out!

  • Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year. so wish I had a small place for chickens. I miss hearing roosters. : )

  • I have 18 chickens and And they do they same thing with food! lol. but most are in seperate pens so its not THAT bad lol

  • Thank you for saying so. We really do take good care of our chickens. They are each hand raised and it really bums me out when one gets munched by other animals.

  • hahaha subscribe for more insanity hahahaha once again, i looove ur chickens!!

  • i've never had a chance to see snow up close before, but it sure looks pretty.

    hehe, chicken feeding frenzy!

  • Do you eat those chicken :(
