I kind of wonder why so many people seem to consider this Supes crowning moment of awesome.

Fact is Darkseids reaction to that beating pretty much amounted to 'Huh... that happened...' And then he pwn'd Supes with that agony matrix thing.

I love this series, but I'd say this is almost more -Darkseids- moment of awesome.

I love JLU but I dont like how underpowered Superman is. In this instance he is a god but normally he has trouble with things and fights that he should only require a fraction of his strength. I will concede that he is compared to other DC overpowered in other adaptations and in the comics but it is to combat villains like Darkseid and Doomsday. I would rather they not include him than make him so weak that he is more Captain America than Superman.

Darkseid was just the threat that Clark needed to realize his true potential and prevent the end of the world. Darkseid was the major push. There was no need for a major fight between the two. superman is stronger and faster than goku in long distances, but his mind is to sluggish to outfight goku in head to head. he's be acting on instincts like an animal. also goku has a higher thinking speed than superman, as well as a vastly greater skill level.

so DCAU superman would lose to SSgoku by pure skill and thought difference.

and Earth1 superman would outlast SS3 goku in stamina, while still having similar problems
