Back in the 80's, I got my haircut a number of times in Manhattan by a woman (I THINK her name was Julia) who told me that she was in line at a grocery store and the woman in front of her dropped a canned ham out of her coat and yelled "Who threw a canned ham at me?". I always remembered that story because I thought it was a riot. I wonder if she also cut Fred Schneider's hair at some point and told the same story to him... way too much of a coincidence. Funny!
Fred, I love your seriously screwed up humor ! My favorite bit is the appearance of the lovely PJ and Paul at 3:25 - love the joy in their faces.
PS - don't shoplift - I used to work in a drug store in Boston where this happened - business men in suits steeling total crap- totally humiliating to get caught - so not worth the risk !
@tomakoma99 really? Is it a Gay Urban Legend? I do definitely remember being told the story from my haircutter back in the 80's in NYC, and she said it happened right in front of her on line at the grocery store (see my recent comment). If she told the story to me, she must have told a lot of other people. I definitely told it to a number of people over the years. It's funny to hear such an old story pop up in a song so many years later.
With the success of the song, I'm sure the Superions could give a damn about what a nothing you are...are you one of the Baltimorons who was fired from the crew?
That's the weirdest video with the most ridiculous dance I have ever seen! Hahahahaha! I can't stop laughing. Congrats Superions!! Great song. I give you guys a 10.
I'm sure his drag was supposed to be campy, as the entire video looks that way, but it's just downright awful! It looks like he's trying to copy the gals on Mad TV!
Fred Schneider is a man!!!kkkkk..amazing!!!

This should be remixed with Paula Deen when she got hit in the face with a Ham.

Thumbs up if you've done the Disco Garbage Can at a party or other public place. I know I have!
Seriously, though, I love this song. My dad and I will randomly yell out "Who threw that ham at me!?!" and my mom's like "wtf?" XD

For a while, I thought that was Jake Shears (of Scissor Sisters fame) doing the thieving.
deemacgee 2 years ago
The shoplifter guy is much taller than Jake Shears. in the credits it says he's the star, executive producer and iphone camera man.

I did not hear the Stern interview - did Fred mention that this is based on an actual news story?
A woman in Cleveland, OH (I believe) was "boosting" a ham, and it fell from her skirt. She said "Who foow dat ham at me??"
It made the papers / TV.

@DonVanco - yes it was mentioned. This vid is hilarious. Love it
