@theory816 Monocoque doesn't refer to the material. It means the stress and loads are supported by the shell of the vehicle and not by internal trusses.
@PBGV4444 Not many at all, actually. The material is sponsored through good-will, as well as the possibility for us to use the machine shop. The most expensive part would probably be the man-hours, which of course are "for free" in a non-profit organization since everything is done by our own guys.
Hi man, exelent vid, for the construction of the monocoque did you use honeycomb-carbon composite for the entirelly estructure? or in some places of the chassis is only fiber?
Hi nice vid, imho you guys have got a great car this year. I was just wondering, what sort of foam/material did you use to make the molds? I've seen people use layers and layers of MDF in the past and spent hours and hours cutting and sanding it down and am looking for a quicker, easier solution.
@Urgonath We used a material called Bonocell (Inotan) which is resistant to epoxy. So we added two layers of epoxy on the Bonocell to get a nice surface, Very easy and quick way to do it. But the Bonocell is very pressure sensitive so wou need to be very careful with it until you add the eopxy.
i thought monocoque were made out of carbon fiber?

How did you attach the two halves of the chassis together? Just use an epoxy?

How many hours went into this thing? From design till the monocoque was ready.

Looks great, but how many thousands of dollars did the cf fabric alone cost?

@TheMPSScissors They used solidworks, then just took sections from the drawing and printed them 1:1 to use as the templates for the foam.
