Not sure about external, but, internal has been reported as working. So, 500gb and below should work. External I can't say for sure.

PS2 slim from what I've seen may require modding, if you understand how to solder the electronic board its not too hard. The Fat Version, only needs a Network Add-On available to work. I would see the PS2 slim in-person and look underneath to see if there is a place to insert a HardDrive. GameStop should have them.

You don't HAVE to have a mod chip right? You can install the noobie package with ActionReplay and a USB drive, correct? Given, it didn't exist back when you made this video. At the end of the tutorial. How do you make the Slim PS2 work without the uLaunch disc in it. I put the uLaunch folder in my USB and renamed the uLaunch folder into "BOOT.ELF" but it won't work. There's no "uLaunchELF" on the main menu when I power on either the FAT or SLIM PS2 consoles. I'd like to be able to use uLaunch, without a disc, so that I can extend the FAT PS2's laser's life.

@hellapinoy6969 yes, you can launch ULaunch off of a USB drive....create a folder called BOOT in the root of the USB drive...place the ULaunch files in the new directory and rename ULaunch.elf to BOOT.elf....so it will look like this: X:\BOOT\BOOT.elf

I guess the first time I tried it, it didn't work because I was trying to do it with "uLaunchELF v4.37_DVD"... I'm assuming that this file is exclusively to burn on a disc. Anyways, thanks a lot for the help.

you dont have to have a modded ps2 if you have a couple files like good code 9 , pelican.bin , and exploit.cbs you can boot it into the sms screen format and then you can go to where your going ive done it before to cheat

you do not need to start free mc boot with uLAUNCHelf when you have a modded console you can just burn the fmcb files on a cd and the instalation will begin but you must make it with cddvdgen and that stuff
