When I need a cheap vacation I listen to old skool disco/RB.

  • 1980 was a great year. A fusion of the disco of the seventies with the emerging soul of the 80's.

  • 30 years ago, musicians really jammed and songwriters wrote proper songs.

Hip hop was an underground afterthought.

People enjoyed dancing and more people fell in love.

Radio was better because DJs had more freedom.

I was ?? then but I thought music would always be good but for me it fizzled out in intensity by 2000.

Nowadays celebrity culture is more important than music.

Cellphones, gangs, dope and alcohol and other boring things matter to youths now.

    Very, very sad.

  • What separates modern music from old is the fact that the whole mood is uplifting, you just don't get that progression in modern music. Bands like Incognito are keeping the spirit alive.

  • its crazy im 22 years old and i know all these songs, thanks to my parents and im happy that they made me listen to this kind of music.

  • @shutyamikeoff you are lucky im 22 as well but i found this music on my own my parents dont have a clue of what real music is

  • WoW I really enjoyed the mix. I was 12 in 1980 and already a music LOVER indeed. These songs remind me of a better time in society as a whole. I was just looking at the album covers during the mix and you could tell just by the covers that it was a very different time in terms of people's whole outlook and perspective on life! I know, its deep. But if you wanna know what was going on during a particular time just listn to the music that was popular in the period. Thanks palmbeach for this upload

  • @Msredhoney720 It is beautiful sentiment Msredhoney you are right on girl as they use to say, right on.

  • What happen to the group "Change" with Love's Holiday, Search-in, & Glow of love, those songs came out in 1980, just 30 years ago!!
