@deadite137 Theres two kinds of addiction: Chemical and Psychological. Marijuana usually falls within the psychological category of addiction. So to say something isnt addictive is non-sense. anything can be addictive, but of course it depends on with what and how much one is addicted that determines debilitation.
@deadite137 Yes, it called THC. it gives you the relaxed, dreamy feeling that becomes addictive. If it wasnt addictive then most people I know who smoke it on a regular basis would have no problem existing without it. So, yes, it fits the definition of addictive quite well.
@Lamentfordeath Your friends most likely have a behavioral addiction to cannabis. There are never any signs of withdraw from quitting smoking (except in the following article they mention there has been but only with enormous quantities in small laboratory animals). Many people also have a difficult time quitting eating unhealthy foods which similarly produce rewarding feelings but i doubt you would refer to that as a chemical addiction.
The key clinical test of whether a substance is a drug of abuse potential or not is whether administration of the drug reduces the amount of electrical stimulation needed to produce self-stimulation response, or dopamine production. This is an indication that a drug has reinforcing properties, and that an individual's use of the drug can lead to addictive and other harmful behavior.
@deadite137 Yes, that is a very clinical definition of chemical addiction, though it varies from person to person. Psychological addiction, however, is less predictable and tends to happen with individuals who have minimal social coping skills.
@Lamentfordeath I don't care about whether someone can be behaviorally addicted to marijuana. If that was the necessary distinction than there would be loads of things that should be illegalized (video games, sex, salty foods, etc...) the whole point of this enormously over bloated conversation was to say that marijuana does not contain a substance in of itself that causes the subject to become chemically addictive. This is the last response i'm wasting on this subject.
@deadite137 lol @ over-bloated. Exactly as stated: marijuana does not benefit coping skills as your response indicates. Nonetheless, I for one would love to see marijuana legalized, if not for the fact that its use would be severely limited in public, more so than cigarettes, to the dismay of many a naive pot head. Hail to the great Khan!!!
@4z4r3th Marijuana is a good plant. Recently, a two year old boy had a brain tumor, CHEMO was making him sick and he was on life support for 40 days. He couldn't see for the first 6 weeks, he threw up several times a day, had hemorraging, he needed a feeding tube, and as a last resort his dad put cannabis oil into his feeding tube. Within 2 weeks he could sit up, eat, laugh, etc. The brain tumor went away. Cannabis has a lot of uses. Educate yourself instead of instantly judging people.
Medical pot is different from recreational. If you want to argue for pot, make sure you make that distinction. Otherwise you're just another drug user trying to lure people to poison.
@kfijatass if you are talking caffeine (addicting ingredient in tea) it's even less addicting, it was harder for me to quit drinking caffeinated cola than smoking weed, i was a daily smoker (and daily cola drinker)
@4z4r3th I can understand your comment and agree with you to an extent, Marijuana is addictive I was under the influence myself in my younger days. But that is because it has been genetically modified and laced with other drugs. In the past it was used for its medicinal and meditative qualities, especially in India. Please look at both sides of the coin. However Marijuana users tend to give the rest of the community a bad name, especially on youtube.
@ZelatorUK What are you talking about? Marijuana is rarely addictive. I still have yet to see an addict. Anyway, marijuana is NOT laced with drugs. It's just been grown better. Lacing marijuana with drugs is fucking retarded. It's a terrible idea. I highly doubt people lace marijuana, considering that dealers would just lose a fuckton of money doing so. In the present, it's still used for medicinal and meditative qualities, although, most people use it recreationally.
@Lmpfapo1 First of all, lacing marijuana is cheap when you can buy a bag of heroin 3 - 4 times the size of a marijuana bag for the same price in my area. Heroin makes it really addictive. Marijuana is addictive by itself anyway, there is no disputing that fact, THC is kept in the blood for up to 3 months, after that time you will feel the effects of withdrawal. You have yet to see an addict? Out of the 100+ people I know who smoke weed, every one of them was an addict, Including me.
@ZelatorUK Once again, losing money by doing so. Anyway, marijuana is less addictive than a lot of other stuff, such as alcohol, ciggarettes, heavy drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc.), and a lot of pharmaceutical drugs. THC stays in the body for a month. Also, I don't believe you know where you're getting your "facts". I smoked weed a LOT, and then quit for 8 months. Easy as pie. Never felt bad at all at any point. I know a lot of people who smoke, and none of them are addicts. I'm calling bullshit.
@Lmpfapo1 Wait a sec, how are you losing money by lacing marijuana with heroin after I told you its way cheaper? . THC stays in the body for 3 months if you smoke a LOT. I should know ive been drug tested when I was in the navy and lost my job because of that. You probably did not feel the addiction as much because some people have more will power. Cannabis is not a recreational drug. I've been clean for 3 years after 10 years of smoking £20+ a day and I still feel the effects.
@ZelatorUK I also and countless friends of mine used to smoke all the time (gram each a day) and I and several have stopped with no lasting effects to date.
@ZelatorUK Most people have the very little amount of will power it takes to quit smoking weed. You're apparently one of the rare people who doesn't have that power. I don't feel like wasting my time on this shit anymore. How in the fuck did a marijuana debate begin on a Yoga video anyway?
@Lmpfapo1 the marijuana debate started when you replied to a comment I directed at someone else, I was trying to make a anti-marijuana advocate see both sides. Ive seen countless lives ruined by the drug including my own, I ruined my childhood and got psychosis / schizophrenia from the shit. Not everyone can handle a genetically modified plant that is 25x stronger than the original. The original ganja was healthy, not anymore, its not the same. "Skunk" is extremely dangerous, Weed is not.
@ZelatorUK Your facts are wrong. Weed is still weed. The only thing that has changed is the fact that it can be grown better, and more people have made more strains (stronger strains). Skunk is not extremely dangerous, it just gets you high. That's weed for ya. Skunk is a strain of weed. Just like trainwreck, afghan kush, etc. If you can't handle a strong strain, go have mids or shwag, or just quit. It's not the drugs fault, it's the person's. You were an addict, because YOU couldn't handle it.
@Lmpfapo1 More shit comes out your mouth than your arsehole, how is a stronger strain a better strain? Thats like saying 40% Vodka is better for you than 5% Beer, anything taken in large doses is bad for you, including water. The point I was trying to make is that smoking too much in one go is bad for you.
Look up Kundalini yoga, it's considered the highest form of Yoga in India, be careful though, it can cause serious mental side effects if you do not know how to control the mind. The benefits are incredible, it releases endorphins in the mind and DMT which is comparable to taking drugs.
@4z4r3th What makes marijuana worse than cigarettes or alcohol? I would love to hear the rationale for how those things should be legal while marijuana is not.

Esther,
Thank you for posting; this is truly a most beautiful experience. Your yoga practice helped with the cleansing of cellular tissue that had built up emotional memory stored with in your body. The yoga practice helped you opened up the heart chakra. When this happened I didn't hold back, and felt the spine snake freeing itself from my infuence . A most wonderful experience. I had this happened to me after my first year of yoga practice, and it has been different ever since.

Lamentfordeath 7 months ago
@Lamentfordeath I don't care about whether someone can be behaviorally addicted to marijuana. If that was the necessary distinction than there would be loads of things that should be illegalized (video games, sex, salty foods, etc...) the whole point of this enormously over bloated conversation was to say that marijuana does not contain a substance in of itself that causes the subject to become chemically addictive. This is the last response i'm wasting on this subject.
deadite137 7 months ago

@avaopr44
Medical pot is different from recreational. If you want to argue for pot, make sure you make that distinction. Otherwise you're just another drug user trying to lure people to poison.

@4z4r3th Mate, Marijuana is scientifically proved to be as addictive as tea...
kfijatass 9 months ago

ZelatorUK 9 months ago
@ZelatorUK What are you talking about? Marijuana is rarely addictive. I still have yet to see an addict. Anyway, marijuana is NOT laced with drugs. It's just been grown better. Lacing marijuana with drugs is fucking retarded. It's a terrible idea. I highly doubt people lace marijuana, considering that dealers would just lose a fuckton of money doing so. In the present, it's still used for medicinal and meditative qualities, although, most people use it recreationally.
Lmpfapo1 8 months ago
@Lmpfapo1 First of all, lacing marijuana is cheap when you can buy a bag of heroin 3 - 4 times the size of a marijuana bag for the same price in my area. Heroin makes it really addictive. Marijuana is addictive by itself anyway, there is no disputing that fact, THC is kept in the blood for up to 3 months, after that time you will feel the effects of withdrawal. You have yet to see an addict? Out of the 100+ people I know who smoke weed, every one of them was an addict, Including me.
ZelatorUK 8 months ago
@ZelatorUK Once again, losing money by doing so. Anyway, marijuana is less addictive than a lot of other stuff, such as alcohol, ciggarettes, heavy drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc.), and a lot of pharmaceutical drugs. THC stays in the body for a month. Also, I don't believe you know where you're getting your "facts". I smoked weed a LOT, and then quit for 8 months. Easy as pie. Never felt bad at all at any point. I know a lot of people who smoke, and none of them are addicts. I'm calling bullshit.
Lmpfapo1 8 months ago
@Lmpfapo1 Wait a sec, how are you losing money by lacing marijuana with heroin after I told you its way cheaper? . THC stays in the body for 3 months if you smoke a LOT. I should know ive been drug tested when I was in the navy and lost my job because of that. You probably did not feel the addiction as much because some people have more will power. Cannabis is not a recreational drug. I've been clean for 3 years after 10 years of smoking £20+ a day and I still feel the effects.
ZelatorUK 8 months ago 3
@ZelatorUK I also and countless friends of mine used to smoke all the time (gram each a day) and I and several have stopped with no lasting effects to date.
furton 8 months ago
@ZelatorUK Most people have the very little amount of will power it takes to quit smoking weed. You're apparently one of the rare people who doesn't have that power. I don't feel like wasting my time on this shit anymore. How in the fuck did a marijuana debate begin on a Yoga video anyway?
Lmpfapo1 8 months ago
@Lmpfapo1 the marijuana debate started when you replied to a comment I directed at someone else, I was trying to make a anti-marijuana advocate see both sides. Ive seen countless lives ruined by the drug including my own, I ruined my childhood and got psychosis / schizophrenia from the shit. Not everyone can handle a genetically modified plant that is 25x stronger than the original. The original ganja was healthy, not anymore, its not the same. "Skunk" is extremely dangerous, Weed is not.
ZelatorUK 8 months ago
@ZelatorUK Your facts are wrong. Weed is still weed. The only thing that has changed is the fact that it can be grown better, and more people have made more strains (stronger strains). Skunk is not extremely dangerous, it just gets you high. That's weed for ya. Skunk is a strain of weed. Just like trainwreck, afghan kush, etc. If you can't handle a strong strain, go have mids or shwag, or just quit. It's not the drugs fault, it's the person's. You were an addict, because YOU couldn't handle it.
Lmpfapo1 8 months ago
@Lmpfapo1 More shit comes out your mouth than your arsehole, how is a stronger strain a better strain? Thats like saying 40% Vodka is better for you than 5% Beer, anything taken in large doses is bad for you, including water. The point I was trying to make is that smoking too much in one go is bad for you.
ZelatorUK 8 months ago
Look up Kundalini yoga, it's considered the highest form of Yoga in India, be careful though, it can cause serious mental side effects if you do not know how to control the mind. The benefits are incredible, it releases endorphins in the mind and DMT which is comparable to taking drugs.
