I want to thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm making Ellen Warren's ChaCha shawl and had to cast on 308 stitches using a crochet cast on using mohair boucle yarn. Your technique saved me from hours of struggle. -3 you!!!

Terrific! I am not a crocheter, but the Pi Shawl (Elizabeth Zimmerman) calls for a crochet cast-on. Thanks for making this look easy enough that even I can do it! :-)
