Saw them life on Saturday and they performed it. Its definitely not Anettes song to sing, I think her Roxette-like tremollos really destroy this sad ballad that was written for Tarja's voice. They might go well for other tunes but I was surprised to see how bad Nemo sounded in her interpretation. I guess its somehow understandable but imo the Tarja original performances will remain the standard she'll never reach for some songs that really dont fit her voice. It sounded like a good karaoke

Gorgeous, much better than the Album version and I'm a Tarja lover. I haven't seen them live but I didn't like Anette back in 07/08, I could see in videos that she sounded very forced but after a long time I decided to watch some recent videos and I love how much she did grow making many songs "hers". For me the great NW period was until OTHAFW but I seem to like more Anette's versions of the later songs ('cept Ever Dream and The Siren) and enjoy some of the pre CC ones, Anette is fantastic!

Beautiful, I really did not like this song with tarja, because with her it just sounded so morbid and dark, but by anette's versions even in alow-quality live version, I see its true beauty and she's just so maternal and graceful. I always thought that on all the soft songs tarja always went over the top. Anette just sings , but she sings it directly form her heart to your heart which is something rare.

On addition to this, anyway, I must say that almost all Nightwish ballads are supposed to be sung like this. It's not like some piece of museum that must be displayed with all the lack of modesty or some vocal virtuosity exercise. It's just an extremely soft and melancholic song that must be let flow. Without any unnecessary ornamentation or exaggerated intensity. Same goes for Sleeping Sun and Ever Dream, if you ask me.

Oh well, that one might have been a little bit too difficult for her, actually. It's not about the notes, but having to support them with the diaphragm and breathing and all. Anette handles the heights of the notes really well as long as they're short, but that part isn't really an easy one. Plus, they had already gotten it out during a couple of gigs in 2004, you can check. Probably wasn't so easy for Tarja either.

At first they said she wouldn't be able to pull off DPP songs live, and she did, then they doubted about Dark Chest of Wonders, but she did. Next it was Escapist, and again she did.

Actually, he is. He's good at playing rhythm, but solos are not his strong side. Most of the time his solos either repeat the tune or are some random shreddings. And he doesn't have vibrato.
